  • Why are .NET app.config load rules different for win2k3?

    ...and are there any other caveat for other platforms? I create an app.config for a win forms project, for example Application.exe. By default I expect that at runtime my application is going to look for a file called Application.exe.config. But there seem to be exceptions to this, for example in a Windows Server 2003 environment an app will look for Application.config. The full path of the config file being searched for is different in Windows Server 2003, why is this? Where is the definition for these cosmic app.config loading rules?

  • Xcode & passing command line arguments

    I just started working with C & Xcode and I've run into a little difficulty. All I want to do is read a file from the command line and see the output in the terminal. I think my problem lies with the path to the file that I want to read in. I'm using a Mac and the file is on my desktop, so the path should be Users/myName/Desktop/words.txt. Is this correct?   • IntellIJ editor doesn't appear

    I updated my IntellIJ install to the latest version (11.1.4) and now the Editor window doesn't appear. Double-clicking on the file, jump-to-source, nothing happens. No error message, it just doesn't appear. If I double-click on an xml layout file the preview window works, but no Editor window. Have installed and reinstalled; went back to an earlier version and it doesn't work there either. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Update: Editor works if I create a new project.     I've been trying to find a solution for ages with no success. On our app, customers submit a form and on the next page we process it. Sometimes though the data never arrives. This seems to happen for just a few of our customers. Seems to happen with IE7 and using a proxy. I want to do result order. SELECT * FROM dblist where word like 'sim' or word like 'sim%' or word like '%sim%' or word like '%sim' equal sim is a frist , sim% is second and %sim% is a thrid and then %sim is a last. Currently I can't sort like mysql in sqlite. How to change sql to order the result ?

  • Node.js vs PHP processing speed

    I've been looking into node.js recently and wanted to see a true comparison of processing speed for PHP vs Node.js. In most of the comparisons I had seen, Node trounced Apache/PHP set ups handily. However all of the tests were small 'hello worlds' that would not accurately reflect any webpage's markup. So I decided to create a basic HTML page with 10,000 hello world paragraph elements. In these tests Node with Cluster was beaten to a pulp by PHP on Nginx utilizing PHP-FPM. So I'm curious if I am misusing Node somehow or if Node is really just this bad at processing power. Note that my results were equivalent outputting "Hello world\n" with text/plain as the HTML, but I only included the HTML as it's closer to the use case I was investigating. I certainly think Node has a real niche that it could fit well, however with these test results (which I really hope I made a mistake with - as I like the idea of Node) lead me to believe that it is a horrible choice for even a modest processing load when compared to PHP (let alone JVM or various other fast solutions). As a final note, I also tried running an Apache Bench test against node with $ ab -n 20 -c 20 http://speedtest.dev/ and consistently received a total test time of greater than 0.900 seconds.

When my application start, the first thing to do is checking the ConnectionString if vaild, NOT Empty and test connection to MS SQL Server Successfully so if there is a proplem I think to show a window form to let the user enter some data like username and password for MS SQL Server 2008 Is there any way to do it?

    I have an object Title : foo Summary : foo bar Body : this is a published story about a foo and a bar All three are set up as fields with stored=true. The user searches across my system for the word "foo" I would like to highlight foo in all three places. The user searches for the word foo in the title "title:foo" I only want to highlight foo within the title. When I added hl.requireFieldMatch=true and hl.usePhraseHighlighter=true as part of my query over to SOLR I am unable to get the highlighting in all three places when doing a generic non fielded search. Is there a way to get both scenarios to work? I had these two items turned off, but I am adding in some fielded portions of the query that the user does not see which only display Published items for instance. the problem is (foo AND status:published) is causing the word published in the body to highlight when the user only searched for the word "foo".

    I'm writing a boot script for an ARM-Cortex M3 based device. If I compile the assembler boot script and the C application code and then combine the object files and transfer them to my device everything works. However, if I use ar to create an archive (libboot.a) and combine that archive with the C application there is a problem: I've put the boot code in a section: .section .boot, "ax" .global _start _start: .word 0x10000800 /* Initial stack pointer (FIXME!) */ .word start .word nmi_handler .word hard_fault_handler ... etc ... I've found that ld strips this from the final binary (the section "boot" is not available). This is quite natural as there is no dependency on it that ld knows about, but it causes the device to not boot correctly. So my question is: what is the best way to force this code to be included?

  • Windows Disk I/O Analysis

    It appears that we are having a problem with the disk i/o speed on our Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition server (64-bit). As we were initializing a database that created two 1G tablespaces on 3 different machines, it became obvious that the two smaller machines (each 32-bit Windows 2003 Standard Edition with less RAM) killed the larger machine when creating the files. The larger machine took 10x as long to create the tablespaces than did the other machines. Now, I am left wondering how that could be. What programs or scripts would you guys recommend for tracking down the I/O problem? I think the issue may be with the controller card (all boxes are hardware RAID 10, but have different controller cards), but I would like to check the actual disk I/O speed as well, so I have some hard numbers to work with. Any help would be appreciated.
