  • Prevent <xsi:nil="true"> on Nullable Value Types when Serializing to XML.

    I have added some nullable value types to my serializable class. I perform a serialization using XmlSerializer but when the value is set to null, I get an empty node with xsi:nil="true". This is the correct behaviour as I have found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ybce7f69%28VS.80%29.aspx Is there a way to switch off this option so that nothing is output when the value type is null?

  • Trouble reinstalling Gem after failure

    Yesterday I tried to install Jeweler via Rubygems, however somewhere in the middle of the process I had a power failure, resulting in my computer turning off in the middle of the installation process. Once I got it back up, I tried to reinstall Jeweler, however resulting in an error I've had trouble decoding. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem? (I tried uninstall, cleanup and check)

  • How to install new modes in emacs 23 on OS X?

    I just downloaded the Haskell and J modes off of SourceForge, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to make them interface with emacs 23. Google searches yield detailed instructions for emacs 22, but it looks like changes have been made that make it hard to figure out where I'm supposed to stick the binaries. The internal documentation seems to assume more experience with emacs internals than I currently have, and the problem has resisted solution for several days. Does anyone know how to get these modes up and running?

    Is it possible to host 2 asp.net projects off one ip address? I don't have a domain name just an ip number. I'm running IIS7. The first project runs and displays fine over the web by simply typing in the ip address into the browser but I'm having trouble accessing the second.     I have a macro which runs several Sql queries. One of these queries is run based off a date which in input in a msgbox within the macro (only companies after the date entered are generated). Is it possible to put the value entered in the msgbox at the time the macro is run in a table by itself? (my ultimate goal is to put the value on a report to indicate that values displayed are after the following date: variable) Thanks

    What should we use in jboss-log4j.xml in order to turn on/off traces for our product - "category" or "logger" tag? By default JBoss uses "category" in jboss-log4j.xml. But as far as I know "category" is deprecated and "logger" should be used instead. Why JBoss uses deprecated "category" tag in a new product?

  • DRY way of calling a method in every rails model

    Along the same lines as this question, I want to call acts_as_reportable inside every model so I can do one-off manual reports in the console in my dev environment (with a dump of the production data). What's the best way to do this? Putting acts_as_reportable if ENV['RAILS_ENV'] == "development" in every model is getting tedious and isn't very DRY at all. Everyone says monkey patching is the devil, but a mixin seems overkill. Thanks!

  • Distinguish between screen timeout and power-button-press?

    Hi, my app does something when the screen goes black, but I want it to only carry out that task if the screen was turned off "by itself", through a screen timeout - NOT when the user presses the power-button. Is there any way to distinguish between those two events? ACTION_SCREEN_OFF obviously fires in both cases, and I haven't found any other intents that might match what I'm looking for.     Hi, As you are aware Oracle 11g has new facility of case sensitive password. We want to make use of it. When my C# application connects to oracle databse using ODP.Net 2.111.7.0 I am getting ora-1017 error. When we switch off this case sensitive feature it works without any change to the connection string. Any idea what is missing? is there any escape sequence we can use to specify lowercase characters in password? Thanks

    I have the following directory structure: vardir1 vardir2 vardir3 vardir4 constantdir1 Inside constantdir1, i have an ant build script which takes the list of vardir1 to vardir4 and compiles them sequentially. The situation is, vardir1 to vardir4 may or may not exist all the time. Right now I have hard coded the values in the list and checking to see if the vardir is available before I kick off its compilation. Is there any way I can dynamically populate this list in my ant build script?

When clicking this the menu text moves left off the menu and the new categories are in. How do i do this type of menu? i'm open to any libs.
