  • css file not getting updated

    the font of the content of my facebook app keeps getting italicized even when i've removed the italics from the css file. if i make minor changes in the css file and upload it to the server, the firebug shows the unedited previous css file and hence, the app keeps showing unformatted content. what exactly is going wrong here? i made a new css file and copied the contents of the previous css exactly as it was, and i linked it in all the files which require css. but when i upload these files to the server, facebook canvas doesn't show any css at all. i replaced the css filename with the previous one, and it works. why is this?

  • How do i resize image file to optional sizes

    Hi I have image upload form, user attaches aimage file, and selects image size to resize the uploaded image file(200kb, 500kb, 1mb, 5mb, Original). Then my script needs to resize image file size based on user's optional size, but im not sure how to implement this feature, For example, user uploads image with one 1mb size, and if user selects 200KB to resize, then my script should save it with 200kb size. Does anyone know or have an experience on similar task ? Thanks for you reply in advance.

    I want to split a 400k line long log file from a particular line number. For this question, lets make this an arbitrary number 300k. Is there a linux function that allows me to do this? I know split lets me split the file in equal parts either by size or line numbers but that's not what I want. I want to the first 300k in one file and the last 100k in the second file.   • Import text file crunching library for Java/Groovy ?

    In a lot of real life implementations of applications we face the requirement to import some kind of (text) files. Usually we would implement some (hardcoded?) logic to validate the file (eg. proper header, proper number of delimiters, proper date/time value,etc.). Eventually also need to check for the existence of related data in a table (eg. value of field 1 in text file must have an entry in some basic data table). While XML solves this (to some extend) with XSD and DTD, we end up hacking this again and again for proprietary text file formats. Is there any library or framework that allows the creation of templates similar to the xsd approach ? This would make it way more flexible to react on file format changes or implement new formats.     I want to delete a range of data from a text file using PHP. Let's assume the file contains the following: Hello, World! I want to delete everything from character 2 to character 7. The actual file I need to do this with is very large, so I don't want to have to read the large file in order to delete just a small, given range of data. The data contained within the given range is not known, so str_replace or preg_replace solutions wouldn't work anyways. Thanks!

    Hi! I am having a hard time on this one, I have a folder over the network with public access (no credential restriction). I am trying to do a File.Exist or Directory.Exist and I keep on having a exception. Can someone tell me the good way to do IO over the network. EDIT 1 FOR DETAILS: if i do execture = \agoodip\Public\test.txt I get the file etc etc In my code it look like a basic Directory.Exist(@"\\agoodip\Public") or File.exist(@"\\agoodip\Public\test.txt") The exception I get is Path not found. EDIT 2 : I am using Silverlight 3, Is there any security pattern to be aware of to lookup file on the network? Thanks!

    I want to write a C# program that will read a row from a datatable (named loadDT) and update a database file (named Forecasts.mdb). My datatable looks like this (each day's value is a number representing kilowatts usage forecast): Hour Day1 Day2 Day3 Day4 Day5 Day6 Day7 1 519 520 524 498 501 476 451 My database file looks like this: Day Hour KWForecast 1 1 519 2 1 520 3 1 524 ... and so on. Basically, I want to be able to read one row from the datatable, and then extrapolate that out to my database file, one record at a time. Each row from the datatable will result in seven records written to the database file. Any ideas on how to go about this? I can connect to my database, the connection string works, and I can update and delete from the database. I just can't wrap my head around how to do this one record at a time.

  • Recommendations for a C++ polymorphic, seekable, binary I/O interface

    I've been using std::istream and ostream as a polymorphic interface for random-access binary I/O in C++, but it seems suboptimal in numerous ways: 64-bit seeks are non-portable and error-prone due to streampos/streamoff limitations; currently using boost/iostreams/positioning.hpp as a workaround, but it requires vigilance Missing operations such as truncating or extending a file (ala POSIX ftruncate) Inconsistency between concrete implementations; e.g. stringstream has independent get/put positions whereas filestream does not Inconsistency between platform implementations; e.g. behavior of seeking pass the end of a file or usage of failbit/badbit on errors Don't need all the formatting facilities of stream or possibly even the buffering of streambuf streambuf error reporting (i.e. exceptions vs. returning an error indicator) is supposedly implementation-dependent in practice I like the simplified interface provided by the Boost.Iostreams Device concept, but it's provided as function templates rather than a polymorphic class. (There is a device class, but it's not polymorphic and is just an implementation helper class not necessarily used by the supplied device implementations.) I'm primarily using large disk files, but I really want polymorphism so I can easily substitute alternate implementations (e.g. use stringstream instead of fstream for unit tests) without all the complexity and compile-time coupling of deep template instantiation. Does anyone have any recommendations of a standard approach to this? It seems like a common situation, so I don't want to invent my own interfaces unnecessarily. As an example, something like java.nio.FileChannel seems ideal. My best solution so far is to put a thin polymorphic layer on top of Boost.Iostreams devices.     I have a scenario where I'm moving the contents of a blob stored in a core data entity into a file. I need a way to export that data during a migration, where I know the entity that's being converted and save the blob to a file, writing the location of that file into the converted entity's appropriate attribute. I can't seem to find a way to do this. The docs regarding the Three Stage Migration seem to indicate what can be done, but I'm not sure where to define things, or what exactly to define.

  • Downloading a file from a PHP page in C#

    Okay, we have a PHP script that creates an download link from a file and we want to download that file via C#. This works fine with progress etc but when the PHP page gives an error the program downloads the error page and saves it as the requested file. If so - what kind of "Stream" reader should I use? I have also read something about "intents" - is this something that is applicable here?
