    Summary and clarification JD Edwards Apps in a box is a Partner offering to the customer. We as Oracle have a huge interest in getting a successful offering to the market and we help the Partner building their offering. We provide components like JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and the Hardware. The Business Partner adds the installation services and position this as a solution to the market for a single price. As you know JD Edwards EnterpriseOne can run on multiple hardware platforms. Linux/X-86 version As you all know we do have JD Edwards VM Templates available from Oracle for the X-86 architecture. Each Partner should or is already able to install JD Edwards EnterpriseOne using these images from our software delivery cloud. We built a master bill of material for a X3-2 Hardware configuration now. It has been uploaded on the Community Workspace now. This is a SUGGESTION and limited to 50 Users MAX. However I strongly recommend you to do a sizing as usual and verify the configuration for each opportunity individually. T4-1/X3-2 version Oracle is not providing similar images for the T4-1 SPARC / SOLARIS architecture. There is an Optimized Solution Team inside Oracle who has created an Optimized Solution for JD Edwards some time ago. They created a whitepaper which is still available to download. This whitepaper was used as a starting point however we decided to build a new version of it using the latest Software and Hardware available. This has now been finalized and we are happy to provide this to our partners. This image is more a service we provide for each partner which they can reuse and extend based on their individual offerings. It is not an official supported Oracle Product and cannot be used to deploy to customers immediately. You cannot resell “JDE in a box”. You can use these images to save time while building your own Go-to-Market offering. You might want to add functionality like Mobility. It is also not complete as also the Deployment Server needs to be configured individually at the customer site. We will create some documentation about: what this images contains (and what not)? what final installation activities needs to be provided by each VAD/Partner in this process?  I will send an email to the community once we are ready to share it. You find these assets than in the Community Workspace. The Business Model with Oracle Hardware For those who have not done any Hardware business with Oracle yet: Usually a HW reseller orders the hardware through a Value Add Distributors (VAD) and not from Oracle directly. Each Partner needs to have Hardware Resell rights to do so. The VAD is assembling the boxes according to the needs of each customer. It is easily possible for them to prepare the boxes with the images we/you provide. However the final configuration is something a reseller/implementer needs to do at the customer site. This process is not the same in the EMEA region. Sometimes a VAD are taking the order but they do not see the Hardware at all. In those cases a VAD cannot provide any help with the pre-loading of any images and the reseller/implementer needs to do that. In some countries we do not have VADs at all.

  • Formatted mac external hard drive loaded on pc

    I have an issue where it appears that an external hard drive which had been formatted on a mac system was loaded as a drive in Windows. Windows is obviously unable to read the data and now the drive won't mount in the mac. It appears that Windows overwrote something concerning the drive's information on what filesystems and types it has on it. Mac diskutility is unable to repair the drive and the partition is showing up in the utility as a FAT32. Using an applexsoft utility, I am able to verify the data is still on this drive, but I'd rather not spend $100 to save these files (its not my hard drive anyways). Is there a way I can use some UNIX commands to find out the partition information on the drive, back the raw data up on it, then restore the data back onto the drive after re-formatting it again?

    I have to download the html code of a web site during the game. I am taking the poster url of a movie from the imdb web site by scrapping the html ( also other informations ). I have to do the download process many times during the game for different movies. I can download and scrap the html but downloading the html takes too much time and it causes the game to slow down(freeze while downloading). How can I solve this problem? My one approach is to download and scrap all the information and store them in a database before the game and during the game access this information from the database. I think this will work properly but that is not what I exactly want. It would be better if it is dynamic. I also thought of using multi-threading but I am a bit confused about how to implement threading in xna. I read some articles about it but it is not so clear. I mean when should I start the thread and what about the update function etc. I need your help guys

  • 256 Worker Role 3D Rendering Demo is now a Lab on my Azure Course

    Ever since I came up with the crazy idea of creating an Azure application that would spin up 256 worker roles (please vote if you like it ) to render a 3D animation created using the Kinect depth camera I have been trying to think of something useful to do with it. I have also been busy working on developing training materials for a Windows Azure course that I will be delivering through a training partner in Stockholm, and for customers wanting to learn Windows Azure. I hit on the idea of combining the render demo and a course lab and creating a lab where the students would create and deploy their own mini render farms, which would participate in a single render job, consisting of 2,000 frames. The architecture of the solution is shown below. As students would be creating and deploying their own applications, I thought it would be fun to introduce some competitiveness into the lab. In the 256 worker role demo I capture the rendering statistics for each role, so it was fairly simple to include the students name in these statistics. This allowed the process monitor application to capture the number of frames each student had rendered and display a high-score table. When I demoed the application I deployed one instance that started rendering a frame every few minutes, and the challenge for the students was to deploy and scale their applications, and then overtake my single role instance by the end of the lab time. I had the process monitor running on the projector during the lab so the class could see the progress of their deployments, and how they were performing against my implementation and their classmates. When I tested the lab for the first time in Oslo last week it was a great success, the students were keen to be the first to build and deploy their solution and then watch the frames appear. As the students mostly had MSDN suspicions they were able to scale to the full 20 worker role instances and before long we had over 100 worker roles working on the animation. There were, however, a few issues who the couple of issues caused by the competitive nature of the lab. The first student to scale the application to 20 instances would render the most frames and win; there was no way for others to catch up. Also, as they were competing against each other, there was no incentive to help others on the course get their application up and running. I have now re-written the lab to divide the student into teams that will compete to render the most frames. This means that if one developer on the team can deploy and scale quickly, the other team still has a chance to catch up. It also means that if a student finishes quickly and puts their team in the lead they will have an incentive to help the other developers on their team get up and running. As I was using “Sharks with Lasers” for a lot of my demos, and reserved the sharkswithfreakinlasers namespaces for some of the Azure services (well somebody had to do it), the students came up with some creative alternatives, like “Camels with Cannons” and “Honey Badgers with Homing Missiles”. That gave me the idea for the teams having to choose a creative name involving animals and weapons. The team rendering architecture diagram is shown below.   Render Challenge Rules In order to ensure fair play a number of rules are imposed on the lab. ·         The class will be divided into teams, each team choses a name. ·         The team name must consist of a ferocious animal combined with a hazardous weapon. ·         Teams can allocate as many worker roles as they can muster to the render job. ·         Frame processing statistics and rendered frames will be vigilantly monitored; any cheating, tampering, and other foul play will result in penalties. The screenshot below shows an example of the team render farm in action, Badgers with Bombs have taken a lead over Camels with Cannons, and both are  leaving the Sharks with Lasers standing.   • Google earth will not reinstall

    I was trying to perform the the fix found at this link http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/01/how-to-make-google-earth-look-native-in-ubuntu It requires you to delete certain files from the /opt/google/earth/free folder and then add some new ones that you download. I deleted the files but the links to download the new ones were unusable. I was using gksudo nautilus so trash was disabled meaning I could not restore the files I had deleted. I the tried to go to the Google Earth website and reinstall it. I downloaded the .deb but when I tried to install it it gav me an error message saying "cannot install ia32-libs" I tried installing this via terminal and it gave me an error message saying chad@chad-Lenovo-G570:~$ sudo apt-get install ia32-libs [sudo] password for chad: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Our customers expect grand new features and innovation from major releases, and "Ropsten" will not disappoint. One of the biggest challenges for IT systems is after the fact diagnostics. That is - Once something has gone wrong, the act of trying to figure out why it went wrong. Monitoring a system and keeping track of system health once it is running is considered a hard problem (one that we to some extent help our customers solve already with JRockit Mission Control), but doing it after something occurred is close to impossible. The most common solution is to set up heavy logging (and sacrificing system performance to do the logging) and hope that the problem occurs again. No one really thinks that this is a good solution, but it's the best there is. Until now. Inspired by the "Black box" in airplanes, JRockit R28 introduces the Flight Recorder.     How do you calculate the data flown between a computer and the gateway computer. I have a Linux router/gateway running IP Tables which routes internet traffic in a LAN. I have individual users with IP/MAC Address mapped who access Interet through the gateway computer. I would like to find out the traffic utilized by individual users. Is it possible for us to find out what kind of traffic was HTTP, SMTP, FTP etc. Is it also possible to pool the information on hourly basis, and get specific info so that I can store information in a database? I have heard of IP Accounting? Is that the right way

    What should look like X Window System (X.Org) modeline to be put in xorg.conf, for high resolution (incuding recommended 1680x1050 @ 50Hz resolution) for 22" NEC LCD 22WV monitor? X.Org autodetect correctly only 800x600 and lower resolution SVGA modes, unfortunately. How can I generate proper "Modeline" line for xorg.conf? Is information included in NEC_Datasheet_LCD22WV-english.pdf enough (found on NEC LCD 22WV product info page)? What tools there are available to generate proper modeline for a LCD monitor for Linux? MS Windows (MS Windows XP Home) correctly detects and use 1680x1050 resolution; can I somehow get modeline information from MS Windows?

  • Aruba Wireless Controller 200 and AP70 manual

    I have an Aruba wireless system that is currently in use but there is no documentation from the previous person in charge. I have no manuals or login information for the wireless controllers and APs. I checked the Aruba website and you need to register to access the support information but registration isn't instant and takes several days. I've waited for quite a while now and have tried googling and checking the Aruba forums but have found no indication of a manual. What I really need is the ability to reset the controller and APs so I can access the device with the default username and password. There is no reset button on this device so I have no idea how you go about resetting the controller and APs. Hm it seems I can't create a new tag as a new user. If possible can someone add an "Aruba" tag?

  • Insufficient permissions within Eclipse when installed via synaptic in Ubuntu 12.04

    I installed Eclipse via the Synaptic Package Manager on Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop (more details on footer). However, from within Eclipse, I lack sufficient permissions to perform upgrades on my package and add-ons. I'm a recovering Windows user, and while I have a couple of years Ubuntu experience, I am unfamiliar with the command-line and mainly interact through the packaged GUI. Specifically, I am trying to install the upgrade for Eclipse CVS Clientorg.eclipse.cvs.feature.group1.3.100.v20110520-0800-7B78FHl9VF7BD7KBM4GP9C I am tracking the varying installation advice on a similar question eclipse install: Gaurav Butola Basically, the most current upgrades are available directly from eclipse?... But at some point I remember reading that the latest version of eclipse had been designed for the previous LTS of Ubuntu - I don't know if that is still true. I have read about the vulnerabilities of Java 6, and so I have gone with Open Java 7 openjdk-amd64 (if that has any relevance to which Eclipse package and installation method I choose). But I'm not crazy about the idea of creating a gksudo link in the sidebar launcher. I don't know enough about chown to use it - if that's even appropriate (I don't want stray java escaping from Eclipse and connecting to SkyNet). Another possible solution that I foresee is modifying my user's group memberships/privileges on the file system as a whole. The only other information that I think might be relevant is that I notice that Synaptic installed all of the files into /usr/ instead of /opt/ like I have seen recommended. So should I be changing ownership, reinstalling using a non-Synaptic method, or what? Any advice is greatly appreciated. While this will never bypass Oracle Support (which have tools, systems etc that are needed and useful for resolving issues), it makes communication easier for some classes of questions.   • Making an AI walk on a NavigationMesh (2D/Top-Down game)

    For some time I have been working on a framework which should make it possible to generate 2D levels based on a set of rules specified by level designers. You can read more about it here as I won't go into details: http://www.jorisdormans.nl/article.php?ref=engineering_emergence Anyway, I'm now at the point of putting the framework to use and have trouble coming up with a solution for AI. I decided to implement a NavigationMesh in the generated levels as I already have that information to start with. Consider the following image (borrowed from http://www.david-gouveia.com/pathfinding-on-a-2d-polygonal-map/): When I run A* on the NavigationMesh, the red path would be suggested when I want to go from point A to B (either direction). However, I don't want my AI to walk that path directly and clipping corners, I'd rather want them to follow the more logical black path. How would I go about going from the Red path to the Black path, are there any algorithms for this. Which steps do I take? Is A* the proper solution for this at all? For some additional information: The proof-of-concept game is a 2D top-down game written in C#, but examples/references in any language are welcome!
