• Dot Net Code Coverage Test Tools - there is now a choice

  I have been pleasantly surprised this week to discover that there is a choice of tools for measuring Code Coverage. If you have Visual Studio Team edition, then if you are using MSTEST, then you have built-in code coverage, however even then you may need a standalone tool. • Multiple thunderbird Icons in System Tray(Windows 7) & TaskBar

  Is this some new "feature" for thunderbird 8? When I start thunderbird it starts by opening thunderbird. Once it is loading thunderbird it loads another 6 thunderbirds. The windows are called Mozilla Thunderbird Inbox - myEmail@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - AotherEmail@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - AotherEmail2@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - AotherEmail2@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird (yes it repeats the same one a few times) Inbox - AotherEmail2@gmail.com - Mozilla Thuderbird I have 7 email accounts but for whatever reason it only made 3 windows. What happened to the one window? When I minimize to tray I got 4 of thunderbird icons. When closing one of them all of the close. My other windows 7(32 bit not 64 bit) only have one instance.

• Ubuntu 13.10. Can't access Internet and unable to install anything

  After upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10 I was not able to access the Internet on any program that required it. So I uninstalled Firefox but I could reinstall from the software center so I used the terminal, everything ran smoothly, I told me how much additional space would be used, then it said "Err http://us.archive.ubuntu.com /ubuntu/ saucy/main Firefox i386 24.0+build1-0ubuntu1 Could not resolve 'us.archive.ubuntu.com Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/f/firefox/firefox_24.0+build1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb Could not resolve 'us.archive.ubuntu.com' E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?" And with both given possible fixes I also get errors. Please help, it's been like this sense the day the 13.10 update was released

• Postfix SMTP sends to localhost, ignores MX records set to Google Apps

  I have the MX records for zaltin.com set to the Google Apps domains (aspmx.l.google.com etc.). If an email is sent to kerrick@zaltin.com from most places, it goes to my Google Apps account. However, on the zaltin.com server (Ubuntu 10.04 if it matters), sending via SMTP (postfix), if I send to kerrick@zaltin.com (via the Pony ruby gem if it matters), it simply routes to kerrick@localhost (showing up via the mail command) instead of going to my Google Apps account (where it should show up in my GApps Gmail inbox). Can I make email sent via SMTP on my server, through my server, not go to my server but to Google Apps?

  I have a photo sharing website, which provides very little textual content. Users can add tags to photos and a description, but it creates a lot of duplicate content, because most of the descriptions will be 'wow', 'lol', ... I don't think I should rely on users to build my SEO. I think it would be a great idea to write a blog, and use it to describe the best photos, start contests, explain themes, in short: create original content that search engines will love. Our website's main URL is like www.domain.com, and our new blog is hosted on blog.domain.com. From a SEO perspective, is it a good idea to keep the blog separate from the main site? This has the advantage to leave the original site unchanged, but will it add any page rank to the www.domain.com? If the blog ranks well it will obviously pass some page rank to the original through links. What do you think is the best option from a SEO perspective? Include the blog in www.domain.com? Or leave it in blog.domain.com?

• Host a subdomain from an IIS7 server on another server

  I am running a network with two server, one running SBS 2008 which hosts a majority of the network services (DNS, DHCP, Exchange, IIS, DC, AD...), including the primary webpage at mydomain.com. The other server is a linux box running an apache web server. I'm trying to set the apache server to host the site site2.mydomain.com. I have changed the DNS settings on the first server so that site2.mydomain.com can be accessed from the internal network, but I cannot access site2.mydomain.com from the internet. I have tried using server farms and application request routing cache, as described on this page, http://forums.iis.net/t/1156458.aspx, but I still can't access site2.mydomain.com from the internet. I don't have much experience with web servers, I usually just administer local networks, so I'm not sure if I'm going about this the right way. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

• Erlang node acts like it connects, but doesn't [migrated]

  I'm trying to setup a distributed network of nodes across a few firewalls and it's not going so well. My application is structured like this: there is a central server that always running a node ([email protected]) and my co-worker's laptops connect to it on startup. This works if we're all in the office, but if someone is at home, they can connect to the masternode, but they fail to connect to the other nodes in the swarm. I.E., erlang fails to gossip correctly. To correct this, I've change epmd's port number and changed the inet_dist_listen ports to a known open port (1755 and 7070 respectively). However, something fishy is going on. I can run net_adm:world() and it reports that it connects to master node, but when I run nodes() I get an empty array. Same with net_adm:ping('[email protected]'). • How to move a website and domain name without experiencing downtime for emails or site?

  Okay, I have a pretty complex problem, so I'll get right to it. I'm a designer who built a new website for my client. Their old site is hosted at GoDaddy, as well as their email. Problem is, the guy who built the original site decided to put the original domain name and hosting under HIS personal GoDaddy account. Well, that turned out to be a bad move for several reasons. Here's how it's all tied together. The original domain name, www.domainoriginal.com, was actually purchased at Network Solutions. The original web designer pointed the nameservers from Network Solutions to his GoDaddy account, where the email and hosting is setup. The new domain name, www.domainnew.com, was purchased under a new and separate GoDaddy account belonging to the company, and the new website was built under a 3rd party platform (Big Commerce). So, the www.domainnew.com is already pointed to the new website using A records at new GoDaddy account. All is fine there. However, they still need www.domainoriginal.com to point to the NEW website as well. (The old one can simply be deleted, it is NOT important). AND, they want to keep their old email addresses intact and working as well, but under the NEW GoDaddy account. Obviously, I have no DNS control at Network Solutions, and I have no idea what kind of control I have at GoDaddy under the old account because the web designer will not let me see inside his account. But, he and GoDaddy both tell me nothing can be done other than to repoint the nameservers to Network Solutions, and then repoint the A record to my new website, www.domainnew.com, and point the MX Records to GoDaddy. I'm told the downtime would be 24-48 hours if I do this. Ideally, we'd like to do a domain name transfer and get www.domainoriginal.com in the new GoDaddy account created by the company. But, I'm told this could take up to 7 days. Does this mean the site and email will be down for 7 days? And any emails sent during this time, would they be lost forever? If I do this, how long could I expect the site and email to go down? And, will the emails be permanently lost? I've gotten different answers from everybody at GoDaddy so I kind of don't trust them anymore... Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Tyson

  I'm trying to set up virtual hosts on my VPS (centos). I set both domain nameservers to fns1.dnspark.net and fns2.dnspark.net and set an A record there for each domain pointing to my IP address 50.16.219.8. Both domains are currently resolving to the first virtual host. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!   For some reason, I can't get my multi-channel funnel which utilizes RegEx's in the path steps to function -- it keeps coming back with no data. There are a few variables which may be holding things up, but I can't figure out the origin of the problem, nor a solution. Here's the situation: The funnel is tracking conversions, defined as when a user completes 4 steps to signup Steps are not "required" Default URL is set to https://example.com There is a 302 redirect set up on our site that leads from http://example.com to https://example.com Within the funnel, steps switch from non-secure pages (unless browser is set to secure browsing), to secure pages once the user moves from the landing page to the second page of the sign-up process (account placeholder has been created) URL at that point contains the variable of publisher number within (but not at the end) the URL My RegEx's are all properly written as tested on rubular.com

  I'm trying to set up Gnus to use both my gmail accounts but I can only ever get one at a time to show up in the list of folders.   I want to do the following with Tomcat 5.5: *.mydomain.com should go to my webapp, located at the virtual host mydomain.com. So I have a virtual host mydomain.com, and I want all *.mydomain.com also go there. Now, if I do this, it doesn't pick up the virtual host, and just goes to the default one (which is not set to mydomain.com). How to fix this? I basically would like to allow wildcards in the host alias, or in the virtual host name itself. (The DNS settings are alright by the way)

  I run a website that generates life insurance leads. The site is very simple a) there is a form for capturing the user's details, life insurance requirements etc b) A quote comparison feature We drive traffic to our site using conventional Google Adwords and Bing Ads campaigns. Since the 6th January we have received 30-40 dodgy leads which have the following in common: All created between 2 and 8 AM Phone number always in the format "123 1234 1234' Name, Date Of Birth, Policy details, Address all seem valid and are unique across the leads Email addresses from "disposable" email accounts including dodgit.com, mailinator.com, trashymail.com, pookmail.com Some leads come from the customer form, some via the quote comparison feature All come from different IP addresses We get the keyword information passed through from the URLs All look to be coming from Bing Ads All come from Internet Explorer v7 and v8 The consistency of the data and the random IP addresses seem to suggest an automated approach but I'm not sure of the intent. We can handle identifying these leads within our database but is there anyway of stopping this at the Ad level i.e. before the click through.

I am not upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu and I am not running a pre-release either. I have unchecked all my 3rd-party packages using Ubuntu Software Manager, EditSoftware Sources... What else might be wrong? • How can I alias domains to subdomains?

  I have a main site with a bunch of subdomains created. Each subdomain is a blog and I want each blog to have its own domain name i.e. thisguy.com - blog1.mainsite.com thatguy.com - blog2.mainsite.com I bought the new domains and I set up the CNAME records as above to alias them to the appropriate subdomains. However, I get my hosts "a domain is pointing to one of our servers but we don't know anything about it" landing page. How can I set up these domains as aliases of my subdomains?
