I've created a new C++ project in VisualStudio 2008. No code has been written yet; Only project settings have been changed.
When I compile the project, I receive the following fatal error:
fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'C:\Program.obj'
Not sure if this is a bug or if i'm just missing something but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my cursor back in the winforms designer in visualstudio 2010.
I opened up an existing project and added a group box, now my cursor is stuck drawing group boxes. I just want the simple pointer cursor back but nothing I do seems to bring it back.
I almost expected it to be on the toolbox under "Cursor" but its not.
I'm new to both unit testing and VisualStudio 2010 (just upgraded from 2008). I'm interested in using VS2010's new built-in unit testing tools, but would like to get the lay of the land first. I haven't been able to find any resources or tutorials on unit testing with VS2010 specifically - has anyone found a good walk-through?
I'm also open to persuasion that we should stick with NUnit or the like, if anyone knows a reason to avoid the built-in tools.
Is it possible to have VisualStudio code completion use the System.[Type] instead of the keyword.
Example:
Autocomplete of List<String> myList = completes as:
List<String> myList = new List<string>();
whereas, I want:
List<String> myList = new List<String>():
This isn't the only example, but hopefully shows what I'm looking for.
I've got to a point where i want to start using version control for my project.
Mainly for reverting to previous versions of files if things go belly up, doing diff comparisons. Nothing major.
I want something that integrates well with visualstudio, and something thats relatively simple to setup. - prefereably with a link to a tutorial for setting up would be nice.
Im just using my pc for this so something like TFS is out of the question.
i'm new to programs so bear with me
For example, Firefox.. I go to the C/program files/mozilla/firefox folder ..but I don't see the images/buttons they used for the default theme of the program
Also, photoshop and other programs: how are the buttons, images, and other media stored (not in a folder from what I see)?
same thing when I made a simple program in visual c++, i don't see where the icon is located at?
thanksvery much
I just want to make sure I'm understanding the documentation correctly. If I add System.Data.SqlServerCe as a reference in my VisualStudio 2008 project, compile it, and copy the contents of the "bin\Release" directory to a Windows machine that has the latest version of the .NET framework, will it just work? Or do I need to do something else?
I see that a JSON serializer is present in the System.Web.Script.Serialization namespace, and is shipped in the System.Web.Extensions.dll assembly.
Is this assembly distributed with the .NET framework v4.0 redistributable? Is it also guaranteed to be present on a user's machine if any edition of VisualStudio 2010 is installed?
Which route should I take?
A) Using a SharePoint 2010 VisualStudio Project
B) Building a normal asp.net website and incluing my pages using the "Web Part Page" web part in SharePoint
Basically I'll be doing some workflows, like filling out travel expenses forms, with approval and feedback.
Hello Everyone,
I was wondering what is the best XML Library in C++ (I'm using Visual Studio), considering fast set-up is critical. Basically, I want to create a file to save annotations on various .avi files.
Thank you in advance.
I use WebClient from System.Net Namespace of VisualStudio 2008 to download the HTML content.
It done well with normal website but with some 4rum that require authorization such as warez-bb.org, it always return the HTML of the login page.
I wonder if there is a way to send the username and password to the WebClient?
Hello,
I have created a program that write video stream to a named pipe on windows, using VisualStudio C++ 2008 . how to be sequre that no one exept programms on this computer can acsess this pipe?
npipe = CreateNamedPipe("\\\\.\\pipe\\TestChannel", PIPE_ACCESS_DUPLEX, PIPE_TYPE_MESSAGE | PIPE_WAIT, PIPE_UNLIMITED_INSTANCES , 1024, 1024,5000,NULL);
I've decided to teach myself C# by writing a music player in VisualStudio 2010. I went with WPF because from what I hear it sounds like it will be a good base to skin from.
I want to program my window with the behavior where if the window comes to the edge of a screen (within 10px or so) it will snap to the screen edge. What's the best way to go about this?
I have search stored procedure which is my performance bottleneck.
In order to get control about what is happened, I added logging for all parameters and also execution time in SP.
I noticed, that when I call SP from MIcrosoft SQL server management Studio execution time is 1.3-1.6 seconds, but when i call it from C#, it takes 6-8 secods (!!!)
Parameters | Time (ms)
"tb *"TreeType:259Parents:212fL:13;14fV:0;lcid:2057min:0max:10sort:-1 | 6406
"tb *"TreeType:259Parents:212fL:13;14fV:0;lcid:2057min:0max:10sort:-1 | 1346
SP is called with LINQ. Login settings are same.
SP uses full text search
What could cause this?
I'm looking into creating a GUI program for Windows in C++, I have a good knowledge of C++ in the command line and also in game creation. But I'm not sure where to start with GUI application development.
I have VisualStudio 2010 and have created new projects with a GUI but these templates are complex and leaves me not understanding whats happening and how to modify it.
So I'm asking where do I start? Preferably good websites that you can recommend or tutorials, rather than books being a poor student :)
I need to deploy some Crystal Reports XI .dlls (craxdrt.dll, crviewer.dll) to client computers. Craxdrt.dll has many dependencies. I found out that the easiest way to go about this is to use the supplied merge modules. Having always relied on ClikOnce deployment I am at a total loss how to do this.
If it matters: the .exe is written in VB6, but I have visualstudio 2010 to make setup projects.
Thanks!
In a prompt we can run:
php filename.php args
But how to set the args in zend studio?
I've searched for this some time, and don't seems to find the example.
I can only debug without args by simply pressing F5
Is it possible in VisualStudio 2008, either with or without Resharper, to re-order methods in a class file to match the order of methods in an associated interface file? What about the opposite (re-ordering the interface to match the implementing class)?
Does anyone know if i can use another intellisense "helper" with resharper?
I dont know if its just me, but Resharper's intellisense just seems way worst than visualstudio's intellisense.
I'm trying to rename a namespace. For some reason, ReSharper isn't giving me the option to do so. I right click on it and choose Refactor, but everything except "Convert" is greyed out. I try the key combination CTRL R + R, and it says the command is unavailable. What am I doing wrong?
Here is documentation suggesting that what I am trying to do should work:
http://www.jetbrains.com/resharper/documentation/help20/Refactoring/renaming.html#renameNamespace
I'm using VisualStudio 2008 with R# 4.5
Im trying to compare these two chars but on win 32 VisualStudio 2008:
if(mychar1 == 'ä' || mychar2 == 'Ä')
Erromess:
