• Interface between two related JPA entities

  The scenario is as below (tables shown) Delivery table ------ id channelId type 10 100 fax 20 200 email Fax table ---- id number 100 1234567 101 1234598 Email table ----- id email 200 [email protected] 201 [email protected] basically a one to one relationship between the delivery and the channel entity but since each concrete channel(fax, email) has different members I want to create a generic interface (channel) between the two entities and use it for the @OneToOne relationship. Seems to me a simple scenario where lot of you might have already gone through but I'm unable to succeed. I tried putting that targetEntity thing but no use. Still says "delivery references an unknown entity" Any ideas? thanks in advance

• ICU MessageFormat Currency Value Precison Lost

  This may be a niche question but I'm working with ICU to format currency strings. I've bumped into a situation that I don't quite understand. When using the MesssageFormat class, why for a certain locale (Korea "ko"KR" for example) does it round currency values (e.g. 100.50 becomes ?101). For most locales (such as the US "en_US"), the precision of the argument passed in remains untouched (e.g. 100.50 becomes $100.50). I thought this might be a default rounding issue that some locales have (Swiss Francs "fr_CH" for example have a default 0.05 rounding) but South Korea "ko_KR" has none. Any ideas?

Two Questions: 1) How would the relationship look like in rails? How would the action 'save' look like?   I am generating a surrogate key for a table & due to my hi/lo algorithm, everytime you reboot/restart the machine, gaps may appear. T1: current hi = 10000000 (sequence being dished out .. 1 to 100) Assume that current sequence is 10000050 T2: restart system. T3: System gives out the next_hi as 10000100 (sequence being dished out now ranges from 101 to 200) T4: Next request for a key returns 100001001 From a primary key or indexing internals perspective, why is it important that there be no gaps in the sequences ?   Hi, Running the following vbscript to call svnadmin dump fails (i.e. no dump is being created) Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Set objShellExec = objShell.Exec("svnadmin dump C:\svn_repos > C:\fullbackup") I discovered from another post, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/445121/svn-dump-fails-with-wscript-shell/2400011#2400011 that i had to create a new command interpreter using cmd as follows: Set objShellExec = objShell.Exec("%comspec% /c" & "svnadmin dump C:\svn_repos > C:\fullbackup") This successfully created the dump but I could never read the output information (i.e. * Dumped revision 100. * Dumped revision 101. etc). I tried Do While objWshScriptExec.Status = 0 Wscript.Echo objShellExec.StdOut.Readline Wscript.Echo objShellExec.StdErr.Readline WScript.Sleep 100 Loop but nothing ever gets displayed. • How to properly name record creation(insertion) datetime field ?

  If I create a table with datetime default getdate() field that is intended to keep date&time of record insertion, which name is better to use for that field ? I like to use Created and I've seen people use DateCreated or CreateDate. Other possible candidates that I can think of are: CreatedDate, CreateTime, TimeCreated, CreateDateTime, DateTimeCreated, RecordCreated, Inserted, InsertedDate, ... From my point of view anything with Date inside name looks bad because it can be confused with date part in case if I have 2 fields: CreateDate,CreateTime, so I wonder if there are any specific recommendations/standards in that area based on real reasons, not just style, mood or consistency. Of course, if there are 100 existing tables and this is table 101 then I would use same naming convention as used in those 100 tables for the sake of consistency, but this question is about first table in first database in first server in first application.

  Currently I'm using a for statement in PHP to get all the months for this SQL statement, but would like to know if I can do it all with SQL. Basically I have to get the average listing price, and the average selling price for each month going back 1 year where the sellingdate = the month. simple with PHP, but that creates 12 database hits. Difference i found is : Visible Library (Created Manually) doesn't contain Version value. were as it it present in library which are created by this code. Can you help me out in this?

I've got a meta tag pointing to my facebook application, but the stream publish api doesn't seem to be able to post. • MFC resource.h command/message IDs

  Hi I'm working on an MFC application, that got pretty messy over years and over different teams of developers. The resource.h file, which contains all command/message mappings grew pretty big over time, and has lots of problems (like duplicate IDs). I am not proficient with MFC, so the question might sound pretty stupid... MSDN docs mention that Command IDs and Message IDs should not be less than WM_USER and WM_APP correspondingly. I saw that most of the command IDs in resource.h generated by Visual Studio begin around 100. Shouldn't this cause some interfering with MFC/Windows commands and messages, that overlap with the application defined IDs? When MC send this command to the APP, it's handled like an application defined ID_MY_ID, and the app is taking unnecessary actions. Is it a possible scenario? Here are the values in the tables: For CustomerAddress: 1001, El Paso, USA 1002, Paris, France 1003, Essen, Germany For CustomerTransactions: 98, 1001, Phillip 99, 1001, NULL 100, 1001, NULL 101, 1003, Carmen 102, 1003, Carmen 103, 1003, Lola 104, 1003, NULL 105, 1002, NULL I'm trying to join both tables and have the following result set: 1001, El Paso, USA, Phillip 1002, Paris, France, (empty string) 1003, Essen, Germany, Carmen 1003, Essen, Germany, Lola It seems like a simple join but I'm having trouble coming up with the above result set.   Ok right , i asked how to create a random number from 1-100 for android and i came to this TextView tv = new TextView(this); int random = (int)Math.ceil(Math.random()*101); tv.setText("Your Number Is..."+ random ); What this does is create the default kinda "hello world" style text view and says "Your Number Is.... [Then Random Number] My problem is that i cant change the layout of this text , because it is not defined in XML, if someone could tell me how to change the style , or like make the random number into a string so i could use it for any Textview layout that would be great ..
