  • cannot install Komodo IDE

    - by Delirium tremens
    I double-click komodo, but it doesn't run. In the Terminal, I type "echo $PATH", but the Komodo dir isn't there. There too, I type "komodo", but the command isn't found. While trying to install Komodo, I may have typed wrong paths. How to correct $PATH? How to run Komodo? echo $PATH echoes /usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games

  • Compiling Ruby on Mac OS X Snow Leopard

    - by gryzzly
    Hi, I am trying to follow this tutorial, on the subject of compiling ruby and rubygems on Snow Leopard: http://hivelogic.com/articles/compiling-ruby-rubygems-and-rails-on-snow-leopard I have added this to my ~/.profile: export PATH="/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/mysql/bin:$PATH" But if I write: echo $PATH I get: /opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin:/usr/X11/bin But in tutorial it says: You should see /usr/local/bin at the beginning of the line returned by the system. I have installed macports sometime ago and plenty of other software, perhaps it has changed the path. Anyway, I have tried to proceed with the installation, so I have built ruby, I did: ./configure --enable-shared --enable-pthread CFLAGS=-D_XOPEN_SOURCE=1 make sudo make install cd .. But when I do which ruby I get: /usr/bin/ruby And according to the tutorial that's wrong. Also if I do ruby -v I get the older version of ruby that was preinstalled on Snow Leopard and not the one I've compiled. Thanks.

  • Changing Java from OpenJDK to SunJava

    - by SpiXel
    I want to change OpenJDK to SunJava in my ubuntu linux desktop , i have downloaded the "jdk-7.tar.gz" from sun's website, but there problem is how to make the system to use the newly downloaded java ? I tried adding the new jdk/bin/java to my PATH ( from .bashrc ) but that seem not to work (cause probably OpenJDK's path is inside my PATH variable as well , so the system checks that first) Here's my JDK7 : /usr/lib/jdk7/bin/java Here's what $(which java) outputs : /usr/bin/java Thanks in advance

  • Is my implementation of A* wrong?

    - by Bloodyaugust
    I've implemented the A* algorithm in my program. However, it would seem to be functioning incorrectly at times. Below is a screenshot of one such time. The obviously shorter line is to go immediately right at the second to last row. Instead, they move down, around the tower, and continue to their destination (bottom right from top left). Below is my actual code implementation: nodeMap.prototype.findPath = function(p1, p2) { var openList = []; var closedList = []; var nodes = this.nodes; for (var i = 0; i < nodes.length; i++) { //reset heuristics and parents for nodes var curNode = nodes[i]; curNode.f = 0; curNode.g = 0; curNode.h = 0; curNode.parent = null; if (curNode.pathable === false) { closedList.push(curNode); } } openList.push(this.getNode(p1)); while(openList.length > 0) { // Grab the lowest f(x) to process next var lowInd = 0; for(i=0; i<openList.length; i++) { if(openList[i].f < openList[lowInd].f) { lowInd = i; } } var currentNode = openList[lowInd]; if (currentNode === this.getNode(p2)) { var curr = currentNode; var ret = []; while(curr.parent) { ret.push(curr); curr = curr.parent; } return ret.reverse(); } closedList.push(currentNode); for (i = 0; i < openList.length; i++) { //remove currentNode from openList if (openList[i] === currentNode) { openList.splice(i, 1); break; } } for (i = 0; i < currentNode.neighbors.length; i++) { if(closedList.indexOf(currentNode.neighbors[i]) !== -1 ) { continue; } if (currentNode.neighbors[i].isPathable === false) { closedList.push(currentNode.neighbors[i]); continue; } var gScore = currentNode.g + 1; // 1 is the distance from a node to it's neighbor var gScoreIsBest = false; if (openList.indexOf(currentNode.neighbors[i]) === -1) { //save g, h, and f then save the current parent gScoreIsBest = true; currentNode.neighbors[i].h = currentNode.neighbors[i].heuristic(this.getNode(p2)); openList.push(currentNode.neighbors[i]); } else if (gScore < currentNode.neighbors[i].g) { //current g better than previous g gScoreIsBest = true; } if (gScoreIsBest) { currentNode.neighbors[i].parent = currentNode; currentNode.neighbors[i].g = gScore; currentNode.neighbors[i].f = currentNode.neighbors[i].g + currentNode.neighbors[i].h; } } } return false; } Towers block pathability. Is there perhaps something I am missing here, or does A* not always find the shortest path in a situation such as this? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • htaccess mod_rewrite check file/directory existence, else rewrite?

    - by devians
    I have a very heavy htaccess mod_rewrite file that runs my application. As we sometimes take over legacy websites, I sometimes need to support old urls to old files, where my application processes everything post htaccess. My ultimate goal is to have a 'Demilitarized Zone' for old file structures, and use mod rewrite to check for existence there before pushing to the application. This is pretty easy to do with files, by using: RewriteCond %{IS_SUBREQ} true RewriteRule .* - [L] RewriteCond %{ENV:REDIRECT_STATUS} 200 RewriteRule .* - [L] RewriteCond Public/DMZ/$1 -F [OR] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ Public/DMZ/$1 [QSA,L] This allows pseudo support for relative urls by not hardcoding my base path (I cant assume I will ever be deployed in document root) anywhere and using subrequests to check for file existence. Works fine if you know the file name, ie http://domain.com/path/to/app/legacyfolder/index.html However, my legacy urls are typically http://domain.com/path/to/app/legacyfolder/ Mod_Rewrite will allow me to check for this by using -d, but it needs the complete path to the directory, ie RewriteCond Public/DMZ/$1 -F [OR] RewriteCond /var/www/path/to/app/Public/DMZ/$1 -d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ Public/DMZ/$1 [QSA,L] I want to avoid the hardcoded base path. I can see one possible solutions here, somehow determining my path and attaching it to a variable [E=name:var] and using it in the condition. Another option is using -U, but the tricky part is stopping it from hijacking every other request when they should flow through, since -U is really easy to satisfy. Any implementation that allows me to existence check a directory is more than welcome. I am not interested in using RewriteBase, as that requires my htaccess to have a hardcoded base path.

  • How do I change Jenkins-ci systemInfo PATH variable

    - by Thomas Schultz
    I have Jenkins setup and it was working but then I updated java and now Jenkins acts like it doesn't know where it is. When I goto my Jenkins server and click manage jenkins-system information under the "Environment Variables" section the PATH variable is wrong. How can I change it? Jenkins is running as root but root's PATH is correct but Jenkins isn't pulling that correctly. Right now Jenkins can't find hg(mercurial) or anything else.

  • Condensing/abstracting the path shown on each line in PowerShell

    - by kRON
    I've started using virtualenv for my Python projects. Since the working directory for my projects is now deeply nested, the path has started to take up half of my screen! Is it possible to somehow have PowerShell condense the path to the current working directory, from something like C:\Users\kRON\Desktop\Current work\Python\dsp\src to C:\Users\kRON\Deskto~1\Curren~2\Python\dsp\src or, better yet, to match C:\Users\kRON\Desktop\Current work\Python\and just replace it with ~python\?

  • Zipping folder with absolute path without keeping tree of folders

    - by Preston
    I am attempting to use the zip -r command to zip a folder which includes two files. I need to pass the absolute path of the folder with two files (/path/to/my/files/), which is causing all of the folders to be zipped with it, where as I only need the last folder (files/) and its contents to be zipped, so that when the file is unzipped, there is only one folder and the two files within it. How can I modify the command to be able to pass the absolute paths in the arguments while keeping only the last folder?

Has anyone ever experienced MODx rewriting your paths to the server vs what it should be?

  • A star algorithm implementation problems

    - by bryan226
    I’m having some trouble implementing the A* algorithm in a 2D tile based game. The problem is basically that the algorithm gets stuck when something gets in its direct way (e.g. walls) Note that it only allows Horizontal and Vertical movement. Here's a picture as it works fine across the map without something in its direct way: (Green tile = destination, Blue = In closed list, Green = in open list) This is what happens if I try to walk 'around' a wall: I calculate costs with the F = G + H formula: G = 1 Cost per Step H = 10 Cost per Step //Count how many tiles are between current-tile & destination-tile The functions: short c_astar::GuessH(short Startx,short Starty,short Destinationx,short Destinationy) { hgeVector Start, Destination; Start.x = Startx; Start.y = Starty; Destination.x = Destinationx; Destination.y = Destinationy; short a = 0; short b = 0; if(Start.x > Destination.x) a = Start.x - Destination.x; else a = Destination.x - Start.x; if(Start.y > Destination.y) b = Start.y - Destination.y; else b = Destination.y - Start.y; return (a+b)*10; } short c_astar::GuessG(short Startx,short Starty,short Currentx,short Currenty) { hgeVector Start, Destination; Start.x = Startx; Start.y = Starty; Destination.x = Currentx; Destination.y = Currenty; short a = 0; short b = 0; if(Start.x > Destination.x) a = Start.x - Destination.x; else a = Destination.x - Start.x; if(Start.y > Destination.y) b = Start.y - Destination.y; else b = Destination.y - Start.y; return (a+b); } At the end of the loop I check which tile is the cheapest to go according to its F value: Then some quick checks are done for each tile (UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT): //...CX are holding the F value of the TILE specified // Info: C0 = Center (Current) // C1 = UP // C2 = DOWN // C3 = LEFT // C4 = RIGHT //Quick checks if(((C1 < C2) && (C1 < C3) && (C1 < C4))) { Current.y -= 1; bSimilar = false; if(DEBUG) hge->System_Log("C1 < ALL"); } //.. same for C2,C3 & C4 If there are multiple tiles with the same F value: It’s actually a switch for DOWNLEFT,UPRIGHT.. etc. Here’s one of it: case UPRIGHT: { //UP Temporary = Current; Temporary.y -= 1; bTileStatus[0] = IsTileWalkable(Temporary.x,Temporary.y); if(bTileStatus[0]) { //Proceed normal we are OK & walkable Tilex.Tile = map.at(Temporary.y).at(Temporary.x); //Search in lists if(SearchInClosedList(Tilex.Tile.ID,C0)) bFoundInClosedList[0] = true; if(SearchInOpenList(Tilex.Tile.ID,C0)) bFoundInOpenList[0] = true; //RIGHT Temporary = Current; Temporary.x += 1; bTileStatus[1] = IsTileWalkable(Temporary.x,Temporary.y); if(bTileStatus[1]) { //Proceed normal we are OK & walkable Tilex.Tile = map.at(Temporary.y).at(Temporary.x); //Search in lists if(SearchInClosedList(Tilex.Tile.ID,C0)) bFoundInClosedList[1] = true; if(SearchInOpenList(Tilex.Tile.ID,C0)) bFoundInOpenList[1] = true; //************************************************* // Purpose: ClosedList behavior //************************************************* if(bFoundInClosedList[0] && !bFoundInClosedList[1]) { //UP found in ClosedList.   • Setting ProcessStartInfo.WorkingDirectory to an UNC Path

    - by TJOHN
    I have a utility that I have written in VB.net that runs as a scheduled tasks. It internally calls another executable and it has to access a mapped drive. Apparently windows has issues with scheduled tasks accessing mapped drives when the user is not logged on, even when the authentication credentials are supplied to the task itself. Ok, fine. To get around this I just passed my application the UNC path. process.StartInfo.FileName = 'name of executable' process.StartInfo.WorkingDirectory = '\\unc path\' process.StartInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden process.StartInfo.Arguments = 'arguments to executable' process.Start() This is the same implementation I used with the mapped drive, however using the UNC path, the process is not behaving as if the UNC path is the working directory. Are there any known issues setting ProcessStartInfo.WorkingDirectory to an UNC path? If not, what am I doing wrong?

  • how to change ruby path from /usr/bin/ruby to /usr/local/bin/ruby

    - by HelloWorld
    reading around the various ruby install tutorials it's required to change path from /usr/bin/ruby to /usr/local/bin/ruby but i cant seem to be able to do it. Ultimately i want to install Ruby 1.9.2, should i uninstall 1.8.7 or what? i tried to install Ruby 1.9.2 with macports, the installation seemed to go ok, but i cant find the new version, i seem to be stuck with 1.8.7 iMac:~ rebel$ which ruby /usr/bin/ruby rebel$ ruby -v ruby 1.8.7 (2009-06-12 patchlevel 174) [universal-darwin10.0] .profile export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH export PATH="/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/mysql/bin:$PATH"

  • How to split a path platform independent?

    - by Janusz
    I'm using the following code to get an array with all sub directories from a given path. String[] subDirs = path.split(File.separator); I need the array to check if certain folders are at the right place in this path. This looked like a good solution until findBugs complains that File.separator is used as a regular expression. It seems that passing the windows file separator to a function that is building a regex from it is a bad idea because the backslash being an escape character. How can I split the path in a cross platform way without using File.separator? Or is code like this okay? String[] subDirs = path.split("/");

  • Absolute path of a file object

    - by Morgoth
    This has been discussed on StackOverflow before - I am trying to find a good way to find the absolute path of a file object, but I need it to be robust to os.chdir(), so cannot use f = file('test') os.path.abspath(f.name) Instead, I was wondering whether the following is a good solution - basically extending the file class so that on opening, the absolute path of the file is saved: class File(file): def __init__(self, filename, *args, **kwargs): self.abspath = os.path.abspath(filename) file.__init__(self, filename, *args, **kwargs) Then one can do f = File('test','rb') os.chdir('some_directory') f.abspath # absolute path can be accessed like this Are there any risks with doing this?

  • Python file-io code listing current folder path instead of the specified

    - by Tom Brito
    I have the code: import os import sys fileList = os.listdir(sys.argv[1]) for file in fileList: if os.path.isfile(file): print "File >> " + os.path.abspath(file) else: print "Dir >> " + os.path.abspath(file) Located in my music folder ("/home/tom/Music") When I call it with: python test.py "/tmp" I expected it to list my "/tmp" files and folders with the full path. But it printed lines like: Dir >> /home/tom/Music/seahorse-gw2jNn Dir >> /home/tom/Music/FlashXX9kV847 Dir >> /home/tom/Music/pulse-DcIEoxW5h2gz This is, the correct file names, but the wrong path (and this files are not either in my Music folder).. What's wrong with this code?
