I usually have 2 sets of tabs in google chrome, in 2 windows. 1 for general browsing, and the other for 'work'.
Can I get both windows to auto launch at start, populated with their respective tabs?
Thanks
Hey all,
Not sure what happened over the weekend, but since this morning everytime I use google I get a popup from Chrome saying "It looks like you've moved. Would you like to use http://www.google.com/ ?" (as opposed to my usual google.nl).
What does this mean, and how do I disable the popup? Clicking No or the close button didn't solve it, and I don't want to click Yes because I like my Google localized.
I'm used to this way from firefox, and it is incredebly annoying. Is there a way to disable that behaviour in Chrome as well (when one tab is open, and you click C-w, it will close the browser as well) ?
Is it possible to use Google Chrome Frame in IE 6 to access a SharePoint 2010 site without displaying the WarnOnUnsupportedBrowsers message.
The message I get is this:
Your Web browser will have problems displaying this web page.
Changes to the site may not function properly. For a better
experience, please update your browser to its latest version.
Ideally, I'm hoping to only have to make changes to the client, but if the site itself needs to modified I can probably get it done.
I'm using 8.0.552.224 Chrome. Sometime, over the holidays, my bookmarklets nearly completely disappeared. The bookmarklets are present in the default screen that shows when I open a new tab. However, when I navigate away from that tab (browse further), the bookmarklets bar (usually appearing below the address field) is gone.
Can anybody tell me why the bookmarklets are no longer persisteent and how to get them back
I am having some problems with my freshly installed Windows XP on VirtualBox. I tried installing Google Chrome on it, and the error I get is:
Google Update installation failed with error 0x80040890
It is genuine Windows with SP3. I also tried using VMware player, but it has the same problem. When the same Windows is installed on a real machine, there is no problem. Any ideas what might be the cause?
What are your favorite plugins for the Chrome browser? I know that only the dev channel version enables plugins/extensions. Please list only one per answer so that we can vote on each plugin/extension individually.
Hi all,
I'm wondering if it's possible in Google Chrome (Mac) to display all the available "accesskey" keyboard shortcuts for a web page. What I would like to achieve is something like this for Firefox.
Some of you might have noticed that Google has changed their search to use SSL by default. I noticed that even if you set your search engine on Chrome to unsecured Google, the results are delivered via HTTPS.
I was wondering if the suggestions typed on the address bar are also sent via SSL. If not, how can I make them so?
I can change the default search provider to Google SSL, but then I lose the suggestions.
Chrome seems to insist of downloading everything to some final location on my hard drive.
i would really prefer it to download to my temp folder, then do a "move" operation later.
This is especially required when i just want to "Open" the file (i.e. a .torrent), and then be done with the file.
How do?
When I want to download something in Safari, like http://foo.com/bar.zip, all I have to do is paste that link into the dowloads window. Is there a way to do this in Chrome?
I've gotten used to Safari, hitting cmd-alt-L (dowloads window), and then pasting. It's quick, neat, and saves me going to FileSave As...
I like to keep my hands on the keyboard, so if there is a quick way to do this without using a mouse, that's my ideal solution.
I'd really like to use chrome on my netbook, but I can't change the settings because the resolution is 1024*600 on Windows 7.
Is there any workaround? I tried the move window command with keyboard thinking that I could move the window up out of the screen enough for the ok button to appear, but the window always snaps back to screen so I can't press ok to save my settings...
where it is being stored? Does it store the flv files when I stream videos online?
I go here but all I see is 56 kb files.
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
Hi,
I am running Chrome on Linux. How can I install different dictionaries (British English and Polish), so that I will get the fly-spell functionality in these languages?
I've set the download directory for Chrome to be my desktop, but that means that whenever I want to "Save As" it creates a temp file on my desktop until I select the final download destination and close the dialogue.
This is deeply frustrating since I browse windowed and I keep seeing the damn things pop up and disappear in the corner of my eye, is there any way to change the directory in which temp files are created in this manner?
I am on a network that uses LDAP proxy for authentication based on a username and password.
Whenever I start Google Chrome, it pops up with a proxy authentication dialogue, but the dialogue disappears automatically after variable amount of time (sometimes it stays for 5 seconds some times less than 1 second). I have found the same issue with Chromium also.
Is there any configuration I can set to control this timeout, or say, auto-authenticate with my authentication details from the shell or DE (Gnome3 on Arch)?
I really would like to use Chrome/Chromium, but what I am missing hardly is a bookmark panel, which is shown all the time, like in Firefox and in most other browsers.
I couldn't find a extension for that. Does some has an idea?
I would like my page action to be activated for all the outgoing links from a certain page. How might I go about doing that? I've gone over the docs to no avail. Any pointers would be appreciated!
