  • Terminal shows menu in panel but window is missing

    I upgraded from 10.10. Then everything worked well except very important one -- my terminal. I try to open my terminal, but no any window popup. I press alt+tab and the windows switcher appears in which there is the terminal. I switch to it, however, nothing happens. I can see the word terminal in my top bar. When I move cursor on it I see the file edit view and so on. But they are useless unless I can find my terminal window. I have no problem with chrome, firefox, eclipse, ubuntu software center, pidgin and many more applications. But without terminal, I'm using a disabled linux.

  • Nautilus menubar behind top panel ubuntu 11.10

    The nautilus menubar appears behind the top taskbar, I have tried to uninstall appmenu-gtk3 and restart nautilus as suggested but no joy. There is a duplicate but it is closed with no proper solution, disabling nautilus is not a solution! Thanks all Note: Not resolvable, it is a bug, wait for an official fix! A fresh install corrected the problem. The only work around is to disable Nautilus as your desktop manager. I suggest the easiest way is to use gnome-tweak-tool found in the repos. Thanks all

  • How to display time in the top panel?

    I thought I already had the time up there in the top bar, and it may have been so in previous Ubuntu versions (don't remember, my Ubuntu laptop is just one of three computers I use). Only that I just noticed - me being someone who never wears a watch, has the cellphone turned off 95% of the time and relying on the computer to tell the time - that there is no time being displayed anywhere, and I had expected it in the top bar on the Unity desktop. I searched around but found no obvious solution, but I'm sure someone immediately knows how I can get my time (back?) into the top bar?

  • XFCE 4 panle show delay

    I'm using Arch Linux with XFCE 4.10. I have two auto hide panels - one one the bottom (Windows style) and one on top for status information (temperature, fans etc). Is there a way to set some delay, to define how much time mouse pointer has to be still before a panel shows up? Currently, when i move my pointer to the bottom, "main" panel gets up without delay (and that's fine). But when my pointer touches top border (for any reason), upper panel show up and it's annoying.... Is there a way to change that, to set a delay (even better, set a delay for just one panel)?

    Hello All, I'm probably overlooking something that will be obvious when I see the solution, but for now... I am attempting to use a custom cursor inside the chart area of a Toolkit chart. I have created a ControlTemplate for the chart, and a grid to contain the cursors. I show/hide the cursors, and attempt to move the containing Grid, using various Mouse events. The cursor is being displayed at the correct times, but I cannot get it to move to the correct position.     Hi, I'm trying to use a custom field in which I input the post ID numbers of the posts I want to show, seperated by commas. For some reason though, only the first post of the series of the post IDs are displaying. Can someone help? The value of $nlPostIds is (minus the quotes): "1542,1534,1546".   • RoR custom routing/Method/View problem all methods come back as undefined

    I am playing with custom view and routes. I think that I have everything right but obviously not. Essentially I tried to copy the show method and show.html.erb but for some reason it will not work. It doesn't matter what the variable/method that is called; it occurs at the first one to be displayed.     Hi Would appreciate if somebody could help me on this. I have a Tree Panel whose nodes when clicked load a tab into a tab panel. The tabs are loading alright, but my problem is duplication. I need to check if a tab exists before adding it to the tab panel. I cant seem to have this resolved and it is eating my brains. This is pretty simple and I have checked stackoverflow and the EXT JS Forums for solutions but they dont seem to work for me or I'm being blind.
