  • ID + Slug name in URL in Rails (like in StackOverflow)

    Hey, I'm trying to achieve URLs like this in Rails: http://localhost/posts/1234/post-slug-name with both ID and slug name instead of either http://localhost/posts/1234 or http://localhost/posts/post-slug-name (right now I have just slug name in URL, so this part is over). How can I do this? UPD I found an article on this: http://augustl.heroku.com/blog/styling-rails-urls, instead of /id/slug it suggests to use /id-slug which works perfectly for me, so I'll go with this.

    Hello, I have 1 main search form with a submit button and several secondary search forms with submit buttons. What I would like to do is when I enter text and click on the submit button of the main search form, the same text gets copied in all of the secondary search forms and all the submit buttons of the secondary search forms get automatically hit. The problem is to "simulate" an "Enter" keystroke or a click on the "GO" button with the mouse on the secondary search form when the user hits the Enter key or hits the "SEND" button with the mouse on the main search form.     I have a free app published in Android market. I have lost the certificate used to sign the current version but I want to publish an updated version. Android market refuses to accept my upgrade because it is signed by a new certificate. I realize the users will have to uninstall the current version to get the upgrade but it's not clear how to get the updated version into the market so that the current users will find it.     Hello, I made a comment on a Wordpress blog and I noticed that after I submitted the comment, the top of the browser was flush with the top of my comment.   • 4 Minute Delay Between New User Registration and Receipt of Activation Email

    Hello, I am using a PHP/MySQL login script that sends a new user an activation email. When a new user registers, the info is put into MySQL pretty much instantly, but then it takes about 4 minutes for the activation email to arrive in the new user's inbox. It seems like sites like Facebook and Twitter can get out an activation email instantly when a new user registers. Is there anything that I could do to make the activation email that I'm using arrive instantly or really fast? Thanks in advance, John

    I'm currently working on Mangler's Android implementation. I have a java class that looks like so: public class VentriloEventData { public short type; public class _pcm { public int length; public short send_type; public int rate; public byte channels; }; _pcm pcm; } The signature for my pcm object: $ javap -s -p VentriloEventData ... org.mangler.VentriloEventData$_pcm pcm; Signature: Lorg/mangler/VentriloEventData$_pcm; I am implementing a native JNI function called getevent, which will write to the fields in an instance of the VentriloEventData class. Once getevent is called, data.type is verified to be 1234 at the java side :) My problem is that the assertion "pcm != NULL" will fail. Note that pcm_field != NULL, which probably indicates that the signature to that field is correct... so there must be something wrong with my call to GetObjectField. It looks fine though if I compare it to the official JNI docs. Been bashing my head on this problem for the past 2 hours and I'm getting a little desperate.. hoping a different perspective will help me out on this one.

    I'd like to use System.Net.IPAddress.TryParse to validate IPv6 addresses because I don't want to write my own reg exp :-) However, this seems to allow strings such as "(validIPv6)](anythingatallhere)" - for example, "1234::5678:abcd]whargarbl". Is there a reason for these being valid, or is this a fault? This is further complicated by the fact that I actually want only strings of the form "[(validIPv6)]:(portnumber)" so I'm going to have to do a bit of validation myself.

    Hello! I have a local phpMyAdmin (installed via apt-get) adn I'm tired of entering login and password every time I try to open it. Database contains no sensitive info, just test tables, and is visible only from 127.0.0.1 I want phpMyAdmin already be logged in as root user with password 1234 (for example) when I open it. How do I do that? P.S. Saving password in a browser is not what I want.
