  • Does Hibernate create tables in the database automatically.

    - by theJava
    http://www.vaannila.com/spring/spring-hibernate-integration-1.html Upon reading this tutorial, they have not mentioned anything over creating tables in the DB. Does the Hibernate handle it automatically by creating tables and fields once i specify them. Here is my beans configuration. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:p="http://www.springframework.org/schema/p" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans.xsd"> <bean id="viewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver" p:prefix="/WEB-INF/jsp/" p:suffix=".jsp" /> <bean id="myDataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource" destroy-method="close"> <property name="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"/> <property name="url" value="jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/spring"/> <property name="username" value="monwwty"/> <property name="password" value="www"/> </bean> <bean id="mySessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource" ref="myDataSource" /> <property name="annotatedClasses"> <list> <value>uk.co.vinoth.spring.domain.User</value> </list> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">create</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="myUserDAO" class="uk.co.vinoth.spring.dao.UserDAOImpl"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="mySessionFactory"/> </bean> <bean name="/user/*.htm" class="uk.co.vinoth.spring.web.UserController" > <property name="userDAO" ref="myUserDAO" /> </bean> </beans>

  • htaccess, remove text from url

    - by Keiron Lowe
Here is the email from the client explaining what he is trying to do, we have spent hours trying to sort out this problem but cannot find a solution that works. I am trying to correct a problem with my blog and google “not found” URLs. I thought it might be very simple to correct (!ha!) This is my line of code; RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^www.uk-domestic-cleaning.com/wpblog/tag/?(.*)/HomeMaid%20Domestic%20Cleaning$ RewriteRule ^wpblog\/tag\/?(.*)\/HomeMaid%20Domestic%20Cleaning$ "http\:\/\/www\.uk\-domestic\-cleaning\.com\/wpblog\/tag\/$1" [R=301,L] What I am trying to do is any request to */wplog/tag/ “anything here”/HomeMaid Domestic Cleaning To strip the “HomeMaid Domestic Cleaning” bit off the end, but leave the rest of the request intact, which will then be a valid request. Any idea's guys?

  • How to get the Facebook iFrame Tab url (including parameters) from within the app?

    - by martincarlin87
I think there are a few similar questions that seem to suggest using app_data in the signed request (http://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/signed_request/) but I'm not sure if it will be possible to do what I am trying to achieve with it as I've never used it before. If I have my Facebook 'Tab' Url as follows: http://www.facebook.com/pages/PAGE_TITLE/PAGE_ID?sk=app_APP_ID What I want to do is add an extra parameter on the end as follows: &WT.mc_id=email-uk-8014 The reason for this is for tracking purposes and links will be sent out of the form http://www.facebook.com/pages/PAGE_TITLE/PAGE_ID?sk=app_APP_ID&WT.mc_id=email-uk-8014 and the extra parameter will allow us to track the campaign id. As you can see I have no way of knowing the value of the parameter beforehand as it depends on the link clicked by the user so is it possible to somehow get the value of the WT.mc_id parameter inside my iframe app?

  • Google JavaScript CAPTCHA handling

    - by Sam
I am using Google API's to provide maps on a web page, however, Google frequently prompts for a CAPTCHA (I only know this from going into Firebug, users just get a JavaScript error) for requests for its javascript API's (e.g. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?file=api&v=2&key=xxxx). However, this prevents visitors from our network (a very large (UK wide) WAN) using Google Maps etc from using these sites with it on. This is likely due to the fact the IP is shared by many people, so Google sees it as spam. I don't see any way of contacting Google about this, so was wondering if there is any way of intercepting these failing JavaScript requests since they return a 403 status code? Perhaps by opening a new window, although that would not be user friendly (they will see the JavaScript after the CAPTCHA, so would be a cause of confusion and would need to refresh the page in question).

  • Errors in Decimal Calcs within def clean method?

    - by allanhenderson
I'm attempting a few simple calculations in a def clean method following validation (basically spitting out a euro conversion of retrieved uk product price on the fly). I keep getting a TypeError. Full error reads: Cannot convert {'product': , 'invoice': , 'order_discount': Decimal("0.00"), 'order_price': {...}, 'order_adjust': None, 'order_value': None, 'DELETE': False, 'id': 92, 'quantity': 8} to Decimal so I guess django is passing through the entire cleaned_data form to Decimal method. Not sure where I'm going wrong - the code I'm working with is: def clean_order_price(self): cleaned_data = self.cleaned_data data = self.data order_price = cleaned_data.get("order_price") if not order_price: try: existing_price = ProductCostPrice.objects.get(supplier=data['supplier'], product_id=cleaned_data['product'], is_latest=True) except ProductCostPrice.DoesNotExist: existing_price = None if not existing_price: raise forms.ValidationError('No match found, please enter new price') else: if data['invoice_type'] == 1: return existing_price.cost_price_gross elif data['invoice_type'] == 2: exchange = EuroExchangeRate.objects.latest('exchange_date') calc = exchange.exchange_rate * float(existing_price.cost_price_gross) calc = Decimal(str(calc)) return calc return cleaned_data If the invoice is of type 2 (a euro invoice) then the system should grab the latest exchange rate and apply that to the matching UK pound price pulled through to get euro result. Should performing a decimal conversion be a problem within def clean method? Thanks

  • How to re-order a List<String>

    - by tarka
I have created the following method: public List<String> listAll() { List worldCountriesByLocal = new ArrayList(); for (Locale locale : Locale.getAvailableLocales()) { final String isoCountry = locale.getDisplayCountry(); if (isoCountry.length() > 0) { worldCountriesByLocal.add(isoCountry); Collections.sort(worldCountriesByLocal); } } return worldCountriesByLocal; } Its pretty simple and it returns a list of world countries in the users locale. I then sort it to get it alphabetic. This all works perfectly (except I seem to occasionally get duplicates of countries!). Anyway, what I need is to place the US, and UK at the top of the list regardless. The problem I have is that I can't isolate the index or the string that will be returned for the US and UK because that is specific to the locale! Any ideas would be really appreciated.

  • Get Category in Wordpress Post

    - by Adam Beaumont
OK I have a standard post here: http://www.ticketyoda.co.uk/concerts/rihanna-tickets/rihanna-tickets-manchester-2013-06-12-united-kingdom/970 I am trying to make each post unique and contain the category information for both the city (Manchester) and the Artist (Rihanna). At the moment the box underneath the venue contains the information taken from the category (see breadcrumb). So I have 1 out of 2. What I need now is for an extra box below to show the category information for the Artist. I use : <?php $category = get_the_category(); echo $category[0]->category_description; ?> to get the first category. You can see the rihanna description under the posts here: http://www.ticketyoda.co.uk/concerts/rihanna-tickets/ Any help appreciated.

  • set up way of getting mysite.$domain

    - by jose silva
Hi I have several domains, only one website and one databse table for each domain. example: wbesite.us - data from USA goes to database table main_usa wbesite.co.uk - data form UK goes to database table main_uk Only have one database with name of the website. Having only one website structured, and having variables like $sql="select * from main_".$countrycode." where bla..bla..., and many other variables to catch the domain extension, and so on... Now, instead of having one full website for each domain, how can set a script and wher do I put it in order to detect the domain that the user uses. In my server root do I create something like website.$domain ? Something like website OLX but for different purposes. I hope I made myself clear. Thank you.

  • Make Codeigniter ignore directory

    - by Noah Goodrich
I have Codeigniter installed and working for my main site. But I am now trying to add an add-on domain to the same hosting account, so I can have two sites running on the same hosting. Add-on domains make a new folder in the main public_html folder to store the web files. How can I get Codeigniter to ignore this directory? The site doesn't load properly when I try and view it. I have an SSL on the main site too and redirection for www URLS. Here's my .htaccess file: RewriteEngine on Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.mysite\.co.uk$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://mysite.co.uk/$1 [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} (site|sections|here) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTPS} onsite|sections|here) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]

  • SQL-How to retrieve the correct data using php

    - by Programatt
    I am new to SQL so please excuse my question if it is simple. I have a database with a few tables. 1 is a users table, the others are application tables that contain the users preferences for receiving notifications about that application based on the country they are interested in. What I want to do, is retrieve the e-mail address of all users that have an interest in that country. I am struggling to think about how to do this. I currently have the following query constructed, and the code to populate the values function check($string) { if (isset($_POST[$string])) { $print = implode(', ', $_POST[$string]); //Converts an array into a single string $imanageSQLArr = Array(); if (substr_count($print,'Benelux') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[0] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[0] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'France') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[1] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[1] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Germany') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[2] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[2] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Italy') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[3] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[3] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Netherlands') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[4] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[4] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Portugal') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[5] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[5] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Spain') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[6] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[6] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Sweden') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[7] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[7] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Switzerland') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[8] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[8] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'UK') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[9] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[9] = "off"; } and the query $tocheck = $db->prepare( "SELECT users.email FROM users,app WHERE users.id=app.userid AND BENELUX=:BENELUX AND FRANCE=:FRANCE AND GERMANY=:GERMANY AND ITALY=:ITALY AND NETHERLANDS=:NETHERLANDS AND PORTUGAL=:PORTUGAL AND SPAIN=:SPAIN AND SWEDEN=:SWEDEN AND SWITZERLAND=:SWITZERLAND AND UK=:UK"); $tocheck->execute($country); $row = $tocheck->fetchAll(); This does retrieve data, but only people who's preferences match EXACTLY what is put (so what they haven't selected is taken into account as much as what they have). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Extract domain from url (including the hard ones)

    - by karl
I'm trying to write (or just find an existing) PHP method that can take a link and extract the url. The trick is, it needs to hold under the weight of strange looking domains like: www.champa.kku.ac.th Looking at this one myself with human eyes, I still guessed it incorrectly: thought the domain would be kku.ac.th but that gives a dns error when visiting. So anyone knows of a good way to reliably extract the domain from url: http://site.com/hello.php http://site.com.uk/hello.php http://subdomain.site.com/hello.php http://subdomain.site.com.uk/hello.php http://www.champa.kku.ac.th/hello.php // and even the one I couldn't tell

  • JQUERY AJAX works on linux, but not on windows box

    - by awebbdesign
I have a strange issue where the code works fine locally and on a linux server but not on a windows server... Works fine on: bijoudancewear.co.uk/mapper/ Doesn't work on: faringdongolfcourse.co.uk/mapper/ After clicking on map... If you click on 'Department Stores, fashion & Accessories' (2nd from bottom) it loads the appropriate data on the linux box but not on Windows. Also works fine locally on my mac, there is no ASP or PHP, this is good old fashioned html and jquery. Any pointers would be great.

  • The best, in the West

    - by Fatherjack
As many of you know, I run the SQL South West user group and we are currently in full flow preparing to stage the UK’s second SQL Saturday. The SQL Saturday spotlight is going to fall on Exeter in March 2013. We have full-day session on Friday 8th with some truly amazing speakers giving their insights and experience into some vital areas of working with SQL Server: Dave Ballantyne and Dave Morrison – TSQL and internals Christian Bolton and Gavin Payne – Mission critical data platforms on Windows Server 2012 Denny Cherry – SQL Server Security André Kamman – Powershell 3.0 for SQL Server Administrators and Developers Mladen Prajdic – From SQL Traces to Extended Events – The next big switch. A number of people have claimed that the choice is too good and they’d have trouble selecting just one session to attend. I can see how this is a problem but hope that they make their minds up quickly. The venue is a bespoke conference suite in the centre of Exeter but has limited capacity so we are working on a first-come first-served basis. All the session details and booking and travel information can be found on our user group website. The Saturday will be a day of free, 50 minute sessions on all aspects SQL Server from almost 30 different speakers. If you would like to submit a session then get a move on as submissions close on 8th January 2013 (That’s less than a month away). We are really interested in getting new speakers started so we have a lightning talk session where you can come along and give a small talk (anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes long) about anything connected with SQL Server as a way to introduce you to what it’s like to be a speaker at an event. Details on registering to attend and to submit a session (Lightning talks need to be submitted too please) can be found on our SQL Saturday pages. This is going to be the biggest and best bespoke SQL Server conference to ever take place this far South West in the UK and we aim to give everyone who comes to either day a real experience of the South West so we have a few surprises for you on the day.

  • Listing common SQL Code Smells.

    - by Phil Factor
Once you’ve done a number of SQL Code-reviews, you’ll know those signs in the code that all might not be well. These ’Code Smells’ are coding styles that don’t directly cause a bug, but are indicators that all is not well with the code. . Kent Beck and Massimo Arnoldi seem to have coined the phrase in the "OnceAndOnlyOnce" page of www.C2.com, where Kent also said that code "wants to be simple". Bad Smells in Code was an essay by Kent Beck and Martin Fowler, published as Chapter 3 of the book ‘Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code’ (ISBN 978-0201485677) Although there are generic code-smells, SQL has its own particular coding habits that will alert the programmer to the need to re-factor what has been written. See Exploring Smelly Code   and Code Deodorants for Code Smells by Nick Harrison for a grounding in Code Smells in C# I’ve always been tempted by the idea of automating a preliminary code-review for SQL. It would be so useful to trawl through code and pick up the various problems, much like the classic ‘Lint’ did for C, and how the Code Metrics plug-in for .NET Reflector by Jonathan 'Peli' de Halleux is used for finding Code Smells in .NET code. The problem is that few of the standard procedural code smells are relevant to SQL, and we need an agreed list of code smells. Merrilll Aldrich made a grand start last year in his blog Top 10 T-SQL Code Smells. However, I'd like to make a start by discovering if there is a general opinion amongst Database developers what the most important SQL Smells are. One can be a bit defensive about code smells. I will cheerfully write very long stored procedures, even though they are frowned on. I’ll use dynamic SQL occasionally. You can only use them as an aid for your own judgment and it is fine to ‘sign them off’ as being appropriate in particular circumstances. Also, whole classes of ‘code smells’ may be irrelevant for a particular database. The use of proprietary SQL, for example, is only a ‘code smell’ if there is a chance that the database will have to be ported to another RDBMS. The use of dynamic SQL is a risk only with certain security models. As the saying goes,  a CodeSmell is a hint of possible bad practice to a pragmatist, but a sure sign of bad practice to a purist. Plamen Ratchev’s wonderful article Ten Common SQL Programming Mistakes lists some of these ‘code smells’ along with out-and-out mistakes, but there are more. The use of nested transactions, for example, isn’t entirely incorrect, even though the database engine ignores all but the outermost: but it does flag up the possibility that the programmer thinks that nested transactions are supported. If anything requires some sort of general agreement, the definition of code smells is one. I’m therefore going to make this Blog ‘dynamic, in that, if anyone twitters a suggestion with a #SQLCodeSmells tag (or sends me a twitter) I’ll update the list here. If you add a comment to the blog with a suggestion of what should be added or removed, I’ll do my best to oblige. In other words, I’ll try to keep this blog up to date. The name against each 'smell' is the name of the person who Twittered me, commented about or who has written about the 'smell'. it does not imply that they were the first ever to think of the smell! Use of deprecated syntax such as *= (Dave Howard) Denormalisation that requires the shredding of the contents of columns. (Merrill Aldrich) Contrived interfaces Use of deprecated datatypes such as TEXT/NTEXT (Dave Howard) Datatype mis-matches in predicates that rely on implicit conversion.(Plamen Ratchev) Using Correlated subqueries instead of a join   (Dave_Levy/ Plamen Ratchev) The use of Hints in queries, especially NOLOCK (Dave Howard /Mike Reigler) Few or No comments. Use of functions in a WHERE clause. (Anil Das) Overuse of scalar UDFs (Dave Howard, Plamen Ratchev) Excessive ‘overloading’ of routines. The use of Exec xp_cmdShell (Merrill Aldrich) Excessive use of brackets. (Dave Levy) Lack of the use of a semicolon to terminate statements Use of non-SARGable functions on indexed columns in predicates (Plamen Ratchev) Duplicated code, or strikingly similar code. Misuse of SELECT * (Plamen Ratchev) Overuse of Cursors (Everyone. Special mention to Dave Levy & Adrian Hills) Overuse of CLR routines when not necessary (Sam Stange) Same column name in different tables with different datatypes. (Ian Stirk) Use of ‘broken’ functions such as ‘ISNUMERIC’ without additional checks. Excessive use of the WHILE loop (Merrill Aldrich) INSERT ... EXEC (Merrill Aldrich) The use of stored procedures where a view is sufficient (Merrill Aldrich) Not using two-part object names (Merrill Aldrich) Using INSERT INTO without specifying the columns and their order (Merrill Aldrich) Full outer joins even when they are not needed. (Plamen Ratchev) Huge stored procedures (hundreds/thousands of lines). Stored procedures that can produce different columns, or order of columns in their results, depending on the inputs. Code that is never used. Complex and nested conditionals WHILE (not done) loops without an error exit. Variable name same as the Datatype Vague identifiers.
