  • Creating a horizontal fluid layout in css that works like a table

    - by ivordesign
    Basically what i am after is a fluid solution in css, that is similar to the table layout below.The principal behind this layout is 3x3 grid where by a user can add content into the first fluid area and it will expand the complete width of the page. But if that user decides that he wants content in the 2nd and 3rd area, all 3 td's fill up 33% of the width. Effectively what i am asking is how do i create a css based layout that can do the same as the table layout? <table width="100%"> <tr> <td id="leftZone" > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> <td id="rightZone"> fluid area here </td> </tr> </table> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td valign="top" > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> </tr> </table> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> </tr> </table>

I can't seem to figure out how to navigate to the next TD in a table via jquery. <div id="languages"> <table style="width:inherit"> <tr style="height:50px; vertical-align:top"> <td>Select the languages that you are familiar with and rate your knowledge:</td> </tr> <tr> <table style="width:75%;" align="center"> <tr id="tableRow"> <td id="firstTD"><input type="checkbox" name="java" value="java" />&nbsp;Java</td> <td id="secondTD" style="width:200px;"> <div id="javaRatingDiv" style="display:none"> <input name="javaRating" type="radio" value="1" class="star"/> <input name="javaRating" type="radio" value="2" class="star"/> </div> </td> </tr> </table> </tr> </table> </div>

  • How can I pass a html table row into DataTable.net fnAddData

    - by chobo2
    Hi I am using the DataTable.net plugin and I am wondering how can I add dynamically a row to a existing table? http://datatables.net/examples/api/add_row.html I am looking at this example and they have it like this /* Global variable for the DataTables object */ var oTable; /* Global var for counter */ var giCount = 2; $(document).ready(function() { oTable = $('#example').dataTable(); } ); function fnClickAddRow() { oTable.fnAddData( [ giCount+".1", giCount+".2", giCount+".3", giCount+".4" ] ); giCount++; } but I am wondering what happens if I want I have a table row already rendered? Say this is my table. <table border="1"> <tr> <td>row 1, cell 1</td> <td>row 1, cell 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>row 2, cell 1</td> <td>row 2, cell 2</td> </tr> </table> Now I have this var newRow = '<tr><td>row 3, cell 1</td><td>row 3, cell 2</td></tr>'; How can I add it through addRow? I tried oTable.fnAddData(newRow); but that seems not to work. So I am not sure how to do this.

  • jQuery Datatables throws error when dynamically created row headers

    - by JM4
    I am using the Datatables jquery plugin for one of my projects. For one in particular, the number of columns can vary based on how many children a consumer has (yes I realize normalization and proper technique would insert on another row but it is a client requirement). Datatables must be set up as such: <table> <thead> <tr> <th></th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> my script starts out as: <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" class="display" id="sortable"> <thead> <tr> <th>parent name</th> <th>parent phone</th> <?php try { $db->beginTransaction(); $stmt = $db->prepare("SELECT max(num_deps) FROM (SELECT count(a.id) as num_deps FROM children a INNER JOIN parents b USING(id) WHERE a.id !=0 GROUP BY a.id) x"); $stmt->execute(); $rows = $stmt->fetchAll(); for($i=1; $i<=$rows[0][0]; $i++) { echo " <th>Child Name ".$i."</th> <th>Date of Birth ".$i."</th> "; } $db->commit(); } catch (PDOException $e) { echo "<p align='center'>There was a system error. Please contact administration.<br>".$e->getMessage()."</p><br />"; } ?> </tr> </thead> In this manner, the final column headers can be 1 or 50 spots long. However, with this dynamic code in place, datatables throws the following error: ""DataTables warning (table id = 'datatable'): Cannot reinitialise DataTable. To retrieve the DataTables object for this table, please pass either no arguments to the dataTable() function, or set bRetrive to true. Alternativly, to destroy old table and create a new one...ETC."' Yes I have set "bRetrieve" : true in the javascript above and that does not do the trick. If I remove the code above, the file "works" fine but it leaves off the necessary columns for my table. Any ideas? As I mention below, eliminating the php script below altogether would eliminate 5+ fields in the header and without question throw the count match off balance. This DOES NOT however cause an error and in fact "resolves" the issue in that datatables functions properly (even though there is NO header record for 5+ fields in the body.

  • Implementing subtables in JSF 1.1

    - by Xenon
    We're looking for a way to implement subtables in JSF 1.1. We cannot use Rich Faces due to the fact that out target server is WebSphere 6.1. I've tried JSTL and Tomahawk to no avail. Also, our project is using JSP's and not facelets. Here's my HTML/JSTL example: <table border="1" width="700px"> Header 1 Header 2 Header 3 Header 4 Header 5 ${item.value1} ${item.value2} ${item.value3} ${item.value4} ${item.value5} <tr> <td colspan="5"> <table border="1" width="100%"> <thead> <tr> <td>SubHeader 1</td> <td>SubHeader 2</td> <td>SubHeader 3</td> <td>SubHeader 4</td> <td>SubHeader 5</td> </tr> </thead> <!-- For loop iteration over subtable data --> <c:forEach var="subitem" items="${item.subtable}"> <tr> <td>${subitem.value1}</td> <td>${subitem.value2}</td> <td>${subitem.value2}</td> <td>${subitem.value2}</td> <td>${subitem.value2}</td> </tr> </c:forEach> </table> </td> </tr>

  • haml - if-else with different identations

    - by egarcia
    Hi everyone, I'm trying to render a calendar with rails and haml. The dates used come from a variable called @dates. It is a Date range that contains the first and last days to be presented on the calendar. The first day is always sunday and the last one is always monday. I'm planning to render a typical calendar, with one column per weekday (sunday is going to be the first day of the week) using an html table. So, I need to put a %tr followed by a %td on sundays, but the rest of the days I just need a %td. I'm having trouble modelling that on haml. This seems to require different levels of identation, and that's something it doesn't like. Here's my failed attempt: %table %tr %th= t('date.day_names')[0] # Sunday %th= t('date.day_names')[1] %th= t('date.day_names')[2] %th= t('date.day_names')[3] %th= t('date.day_names')[4] %th= t('date.day_names')[5] %th= t('date.day_names')[6] # Monday [email protected] do |date| - if(date.wday == 0) # if date is sunday %tr %td=date.to_s - else %td=date.to_s This doesn't work the way I want. The %tds for the non-sunday days appear outside of the %tr: <tr> <td>2010-04-24</td> </tr> <td>2010-04-25</td> <td>2010-04-26</td> <td>2010-04-27</td> <td>2010-04-28</td> <td>2010-04-29</td> <td>2010-04-30</td> I tried adding two more spaces to the else but then haml complained about improper identation. What's the best way to do this? Note: I'm not interested on rendering the calendar using unordered lists. Please don't suggest that.

  • Select part of text in a tag

    - by atlantis
    The DOM structure looks like this (existing website ... cant modify it): <table> <tr><td> <br><hr size="1"><strong>some heading 1</strong><br> <br>some text 1<br> <br><hr size="1"><strong>some heading 2</strong><br> <br>some text 2<br> </td></tr> </table> I want to manipulate it so that it looks like this <table> <tr><td> <br><hr size="1"><strong>some heading 1</strong><br> <br>some text 1<br> </td></tr> <tr><td> <br><hr size="1"><strong>some heading 2</strong><br> <br>some text 2<br> </td></tr> </table> Using the solution posted here, I am able to get hold of the hr, strong, br tags and move them into new td elements. However, I am not able to get hold of "some text 1" since it is directly contained within the td and using .text() on td will give me both "some text 1" as well as "some text 2". Any idea?

  • JQuery Hover does not work Mozilla

    - by josephj1989
    I have the following Snippet of code.The hover has a problem in Mozilla - It changes color on hover but some times it does not revert back when we go out.Mind you it only happens sometimes.Also in such cases if I examine the HTML using FireBug I can see that the Extra Class is assigned even after hover is out.It works OK on IE .This is a simplified version Also as you can see I am setting color on the TR.But this does not change the Color on TextBoxes inside TR. How can I make sure the background color of the Controls contained in the TR is also changed on hover. <style type="text/css"> .HighLight { background-color:Fuchsia; } .Select { border:soild 2px Blue; margin:3px; } </style> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.4.2.js"> </script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $(".Select").hover( function() { $(this).addClass("HighLight"); }, function() { $(this).removeClass("HighLight"); }); }); My Markup generated by ASP.NET Repeater Control is a table with TR assigned Class Select. <tr class="Select" > <td> <input type="checkbox" id="chkSelect" /> </td> <td> <input name="Repeater1$ctl11$tb" type="text" value="Sharp Bikes" id="Repeater1_ctl11_tb" /> </td> <td> <input name="Repeater1$ctl11$tb2" type="text" value="10/13/2004 11:15:07 AM" id="Repeater1_ctl11_tb2" /> </td> </tr>

  • Filter large amounts of data in a table w/ jQuery

    - by Bry4n
    I work for a transit agency and I have large amounts of data (mostly times), and I need a way to filter the data using two textboxes (To and From). I found jQuery quick search, but it seems to only work with one textbox. If anyone has any ideas via jQuery or some other client side library, that would be fantastic. Ideal example: To: [Textbox] From:[Textbox] <table> <tr> <td>69th street</td><td>5:00pm</td><td>5:06pm</td><td>5:10pm</td><td>5:20pm</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Millbourne</td><td>5:09pm</td><td>5:15pm</td><td>5:20pm</td><td>5:25pm</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Spring Garden</td><td>6:00pm</td><td>6:15pm</td><td>6:20pm</td><td>6:25pm</td> </tr> </table> So If I start typing in one of the stations in the To: textbox it either displays dynamically like the quick search or i have to press a button (either or) and then in the from: textbox. Lastly it shows me to: station and all its times on the left and the from: station and all its times on the right.

  • jQuery removing elements from DOM put still reporting as present

    - by RyanP13
    Hi, I have an address finder system whereby a user enters a postcode, if postcode is validated then an address list is returned and displayed, they then select an address line, the list dissappears and then the address line is split further into some form inputs. The issue i am facing is when they have been through the above process then cleared the postcode form field, hit the find address button and the address list re-appears. Event though the list and parent tr have been removed from the DOM it is still reporting it is present as length 1? My code is as follows: jQuery // when postcode validated display box var $addressList = $("div#selectAddress > ul").length; // if address list present show the address list if ($addressList != 0) { $("div#selectAddress").closest("tr").removeClass("hide"); } // address list hidden by default // if coming back to modify details then display address inputs var $customerAddress = $("form#detailsForm input[name*='customerAddress']"); var $addressInputs = $.cookies.get('cpqbAddressInputs'); if ($addressInputs) { if ($addressInputs == 'visible') { $($customerAddress).closest("tr").removeClass("hide"); } } else { $($customerAddress).closest("tr").addClass("hide"); } // Need to change form action URL to call post code web service $("input.findAddress").live('click', function(){ var $postCode = encodeURI($("input#customerPostcode").val()); if ($postCode != "") { var $formAction = "customerAction.do?searchAddress=searchAddress&custpc=" + $postCode; $("form#detailsForm").attr("action", $formAction); } else { alert($addressList);} }); // darker highlight when li is clicked // split address string into corresponding inputs $("div#selectAddress ul li").live('click', function(){ $(this).removeClass("addressHover"); //$("li.addressClick").removeClass("addressClick"); $(this).addClass("addressClick"); var $splitAddress = $(this).text().split(","); $($customerAddress).each(function(){ var $inputCount = $(this).index("form#detailsForm input[name*='customerAddress']"); $(this).val($splitAddress[$inputCount]); }); $($customerAddress).closest("tr").removeClass("hide"); $.cookies.set('cpqbAddressInputs', 'visible'); $(this).closest("tr").fadeOut(250, function() { $(this).remove(); }); });

  • unroll nested for loops in C++

    - by Hristo
    How would I unroll the following nested loops? for(k = begin; k != end; ++k) { for(j = 0; j < Emax; ++j) { for(i = 0; i < N; ++i) { if (j >= E[i]) continue; array[k] += foo(i, tr[k][i], ex[j][i]); } } } I tried the following, but my output isn't the same, and it should be: for(k = begin; k != end; ++k) { for(j = 0; j < Emax; ++j) { for(i = 0; i+4 < N; i+=4) { if (j >= E[i]) continue; array[k] += foo(i, tr[k][i], ex[j][i]); array[k] += foo(i+1, tr[k][i+1], ex[j][i+1]); array[k] += foo(i+2, tr[k][i+2], ex[j][i+2]); array[k] += foo(i+3, tr[k][i+3], ex[j][i+3]); } if (i < N) { for (; i < N; ++i) { if (j >= E[i]) continue; array[k] += foo(i, tr[k][i], ex[j][i]); } } } } I will be running this code in parallel using Intel's TBB so that it takes advantage of multiple cores. After this is finished running, another function prints out what is in array[] and right now, with my unrolling, the output isn't identical. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Hristo
