    - by Sorin Comanescu
Hi, When the mouse is over a menu item (first level) it displays a 3D button effect. How can this be removed? Thanks. EDIT: Tried <Style TargetType="MenuItem"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True"> <Setter Property="BorderBrush" Value="Transparent"> <Setter Property="BorderThickness" Value="0"> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> with no effect. • How to do binding programmically?

    - by user175908
Hello, Could anyone identify the problem in this code? (I'm kinda newbie in WPF bindings.) This code executes after chart is loaded when I click a button: I get this error: Update: I dont get that error anymore. Thanks to Tomas. Now no error occur but chart looks completely blank (no columns) Update: Code now looks like this: // create a very simple DataSet var dataSet = new DataSet("MyDataSet"); var table = dataSet.Tables.Add("MyTable"); table.Columns.Add("Name"); table.Columns.Add("Price"); table.Rows.Add("Brick", 1.5d); table.Rows.Add("Soap", 4.99d); table.Rows.Add("Comic Book", 0.99d); // chart series var series = new ColumnSeries() { IndependentValueBinding = new Binding("[Name]"), // How to deal with DependentValueBinding = new Binding("[Price]"), // these two? ItemsSource = dataSet.Tables[0].DefaultView // or maybe I do mistake here? }; // ---------- set additional binding as adviced ------------------ series.SetBinding(ColumnSeries.ItemsSourceProperty, new Binding()); // chart stuff MyChart.Series.Add(series); MyChart.Title = "Names 'n Prices"; // some code to remove legend var style = new Style(typeof(Control)); style.Setters.Add(new Setter(LegendItem.TemplateProperty, null)); MyChart.LegendStyle = style; XAML: <Window x:Class="BindingzTest.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="606" Width="988" xmlns:charting="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls.DataVisualization.Charting;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.DataVisualization.Toolkit"> <Grid Name="LayoutRoot"> <charting:Chart Name="MyChart" Margin="0,0,573,0" Height="289" VerticalAlignment="Top" /> <Button Content="Button" Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="272,361,0,0" Name="button1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="75" Click="chart1_Loaded" /> </Grid> Thanks for help in advance once more.

  • Set form MinWidth and MinHeight based on child property

    - by Jon Mitchell
I'm writing an application in WPF using the MVVM pattern. In my application I've got an IPopupWindowService which I use to create a popup dialog window. So to show a ViewModel in a popup window you'd do something like this: var container = ServiceLocator.Current.GetInstance<IUnityContainer>(); var popupService = container.Resolve<IPopupWindowService>(); var myViewModel = container.Resolve<IMyViewModel>(); popupService.Show((ViewModelBase)myViewModel); This is all well and good. What I want to do is be able to set the MinHeight and MinWidth on the View bound to myViewModel and have the popup window use those settings so that a user cannot make the window smaller than its contents will allow. At the moment when the user shrinks the window the contents stops resizing but the window doesn't. EDIT: I map my Views to my ViewModels in ResourceDictionarys like so: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type ViewModels:MyViewModel}"> <Views:MyView /> </DataTemplate> And my popup view looks like this: <Window x:Class="TheCompany.Cubit.Shell.Views.PopupWindowView" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" SizeToContent="WidthAndHeight" WindowStartupLocation="CenterOwner"> <DockPanel x:Name="panelContent"> <StackPanel HorizontalAlignment="Right" DockPanel.Dock="Bottom" Orientation="Horizontal" Visibility="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=Window},Path=ButtonPanelVisibility}"> <Button Width="75" IsDefault="True" x:Uid="ViewDialog_AcceptButton" Click="OnAcceptButtonClick" Margin="4">OK</Button> <Button Width="75" IsCancel="True" x:Uid="ViewDialog_CancelButton" Click="OnCancelButtonClick" Margin="0,4,4,4">Cancel</Button> </StackPanel> <ContentPresenter Content="{Binding}" /> </DockPanel>

  • XAttribute Generating strange namespaces

    - by Adam Driscoll
    I'm constructing an XElement with a couple attributes that have different namespaces. The code looks like this: var element = new XElement("SynchronousCommand", new XAttribute("{wcm}action", "add"), new XAttribute("{ns}id", Guid.NewGuid()), new XElement... ); The XML that is generated looks like this: <unattend xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <SynchronousCommand d5p1:action="add" d5p2:id="c0f5fc6d-d407-4d3d-8a05-d84236cca2fb" xmlns:d5p2="ns" xmlns:d5p1="wcm"> ... </SynchronousCommand> </unattend> I'm just wondering if the auto-generated d5p2 is valid and why it is doing this. According to the XML standards here it seems like it would be valid. But why is it not: <unattend xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <SynchronousCommand wcm:action="add" ns:id="c0f5fc6d-d407-4d3d-8a05-d84236cca2fb" > To generate the XML I'm doing this: public class unattend { public List<XElement> Any {get;} } var unattend = new unattend(); unattend.Add(element); serializer.Serialize(xmlWriter, unattend);

  • Is this a bug or something I am doing wrong?

    - by Brian Gideon
I cannot imagine how this is anything other than a bug, but since I do not currently have a login for the MS Connect website I will ask here first. I have Visual Studio 2008 SP 1 with all post SP1 hotfixes I could find relating to the crash installed. Can you reproduce the following crash? 1) Create a new "WPF Application" project using VB as the language (though I suspect it will happen in C# as well). 2) Enter the following code in the Window1.xaml.vb file. Friend MustInherit Class A End Class Friend MustInherit Class A(Of T) Inherits A End Class 3) Add a namespace declaration the Window1.xaml file so that it looks like the following. <Window x:Class="Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApplication1" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> </Grid> </Window> 4) Now attempt to edit the xaml file by opening a new xml tag via the < character. 5) CRASH! Edit: Microsoft has confirmed this bug. The issue still exists in VS2010 beta 2, but will be fixed in the next release.

  • How to specify path for file from different project in WPF?

    - by MartyIX
Hello, I've got two projects in WPF and one project is the main one and the second one is just for testing (it uses files of the main project - files are added via Project - add - Existing items... - selected file - add as link so that the file is only in the main project really). Folders with projects are these: C:\Work\...\Projects\Main C:\Work\...\Projects\XXXTestProject where XXX stands for different parts of the Main project which I test separately. I've got the code: <Window x:Class="Sokoban.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:Sokoban" xmlns:diag="clr-namespace:System.Diagnostics;assembly=WindowsBase" Title="Window1" Height="559" Width="419"> <Window.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="GameDesk.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <Rectangle local:GameDeskProperties.FieldSize="30" Name="myrect" Style="{DynamicResource GameDesk}" MouseEnter="Rectangle_MouseEnter" /> </Grid> </Window> ... which should use XAML resources from GameDesk.xaml which is in the main project and it seems that I can't use Pack URI (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa970069.aspx). How can I specify the file? Should I use absolute path? (C:\Work...\Main\Resources\GameDesk.xaml) Or is there any other way? Thank you for help!

  • How can I bind another DependencyProperty to the IsChecked Property of a CheckBox?

    - by speedmetal
    Here's an example of what I'm trying to accomplish: <Window x:Class="CheckBoxBinding.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <StackPanel> <CheckBox Name="myCheckBox">this</CheckBox> <Grid> <Grid.Resources> <Style TargetType="ListBox"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="{Binding ElementName=myCheckBox, Path=IsChecked}" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Red" /> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Grid.Resources> <ListBox> <ListBoxItem>item</ListBoxItem> <ListBoxItem>another</ListBoxItem> </ListBox> </Grid> </StackPanel> </Window> When I try to run it, I get this XamlParseException: A 'Binding' cannot be set on the 'Property' property of type 'Trigger'. A 'Binding' can only be set on a DependencyProperty of a DependencyObject. So how can I bind a property on the ListBox to the IsChecked property of a CheckBox?

  • How can I load combo box's data when it has been defined in DataTemplate codebehind ?

    - by Naseem
Hi, In my silverlight application,I need to have dynamic columns in my DataGrid . So I had to create all the columns and their DataTemplate dynamically .When user wants to edit the column , a combo box will be displayed which has different values based on selected column. For creating each column I have wrote : foreach (var itemFilter in ProductFilterCollection) { DataGridTemplateColumn templateColumn = new DataGridTemplateColumn(); templateColumn.Header = itemFilter.Description.ToString(); templateColumn.CellTemplate = CreateCellTemplate(typeof(TextBlock), itemFilter.Description.ToString()); templateColumn.CellEditingTemplate = CreateEditingTemplate(typeof(ComboBox), itemFilter.Description.ToString()); grdTest.Columns.Add(templateColumn); } Here is the code for creating DataTemplate dynamically. public DataTemplate CreateCellTemplate(Type type, string strBinding) { return (DataTemplate)XamlReader.Load(@"<DataTemplate xmlns=""http://schemas.microsoft.com/client/2007""> <" + type.Name + @" Text=""{Binding " + strBinding + @"}""/> </DataTemplate>"); } public DataTemplate CreateEditingTemplate(Type type, string strBinding) { return (DataTemplate)XamlReader.Load(@"<DataTemplate xmlns=""http://schemas.microsoft.com/client/2007""> <" + type.Name + @" Loaded=""ddlTest_Loaded"" Tag=""{Binding " + strBinding + @"}""/> </DataTemplate>"); } I need to use Loaded="ddlTest_Loaded" in CreateEditingTemplate() ,in order to load the combo box . However it causes exception . When I remove Loaded event it's fine however the combo box is empty. How can I load the combo box when I define it in DataTemplate codebehind.

  • How to Declare Complex Nested C# Type for Web Service

    - by TheArtTrooper
I would like to create a service that accepts a complex nested type. In a sample asmx file I created: [WebService(Namespace = "http://tempuri.org/")] [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)] // To allow this Web Service to be called from script, using ASP.NET AJAX, uncomment the following line. // [System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService] public class ServiceNest : System.Web.Services.WebService { public class Block { [XmlElement(IsNullable = false)] public int number; } public class Cell { [XmlElement(IsNullable = false)] public Block block; } public class Head { [XmlElement(IsNullable = false)] public Cell cell; } public class Nest { public Head head; } [WebMethod] public void TakeNest(Nest nest) { } } When I view the asmx file in IE the test page shows the example SOAP post request as: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <soap:Body> <TakeNest xmlns="http://schemas.intellicorp.com/livecompare/"> <nest> <head> <cell> <block xsi:nil="true" /> </cell> </head> </nest> </TakeNest> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> It hasn't expanded the <block> into its number member. Looking at the WSDL, the types all look good. So is this just a limitation of the post demo page creator? Thanks.

  • Signed and RequireAdministrator manifested executable being run from temp folder?

    - by Ian Boyd
i manifested my executable as require administrator: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0"> <!-- Disable Windows Vista UAC compatability heuristics --> <trustInfo xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v2"> <security> <requestedPrivileges> <requestedExecutionLevel level="requireAdministrator"/> </requestedPrivileges> </security> </trustInfo> </assembly> And then i digitally signed it. But then when i run the executable i noticed something odd: the name of the executable on the Consent dialog changed from PingWarning.exe to pinxxxx.tmp; as though a temp copy was made, and that is being run: i dug out Process Montior, to see if anyone is creating a *.tmp file when i launch my executable, and there is: The Application Information service inside this particular svchost container is intentionally copying my executable to the Windows temp folder, and asking for user "Consent" from there; giving an invalid filename. Once consent has been granted, the executable is run from its original location: link text The file is not copied to the temp folder if i do not digitally sign it: So my problem is the invalid filename appearing on the consent dialog when i digitally sign my executable which has been manifested as requireAdministrator. What do?

  • Expression Blend doesn't recognize command objects declared in code behind file

    - by Brian Ensink
    I have a WPF UserControl. The code behind file declares some RoutedUICommand objects which are referenced in the XAML. The application builds and runs just fine. However Expression Blend 3 cannot load the XAML in the designer and gives errors like this one: The member "ResetCameraCommand" is not recognized or accessible. The class and the member are both public. Building and rebuilding the project in Blend and restarting Blend hasn't helped. Any ideas what the problem is? Here are fragments of my XAML ... <UserControl x:Class="CAP.Visual.CameraAndLightingControl" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:CAP.Visual;assembly=VisualApp" Height="100" Width="700"> <UserControl.CommandBindings> <CommandBinding Command="local:CameraAndLightingControl.ResetCameraCommand" Executed="ResetCamera_Executed" CanExecute="ResetCamera_CanExecute"/> </UserControl.CommandBindings> .... ... and the code behind C# namespace CAP.Visual { public partial class CameraAndLightingControl : UserControl { public readonly static RoutedUICommand ResetCameraCommand; static CameraAndLightingControl() { ResetCameraCommand = new RoutedUICommand("Reset Camera", "ResetCamera", typeof(CameraAndLightingControl)); }

  • WPF ToolBar Separator shrinks to nothing when inside a StackPanel

    - by qntmfred
    Given the very simple wpf app <Window x:Class="Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="800"> <Grid> <ToolBar Height="50" > <MenuItem Header="Test1" /> <MenuItem Header="Test2" /> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Separator /> <MenuItem Header="Test3" /> <MenuItem Header="Test4" /> <MenuItem Header="Test5" /> </StackPanel> </ToolBar> </Grid> </Window> The Separator element shrinks to nothing. If I put the Separator just before the StackPanel begins, it will show up. Why does this happen? Is there a style setting that can be applied somewhere to avoid this?

  • Can't access resource from Generic.xaml within the Custom Control constructor.

    - by myermian
I'm not sure why this is doing this, but I can't access the resource from within my constructor. • How do I swallow the dropdown behavior inside an Expander.Header?

    - by Peter Seale
Hello, I would like to prevent an Expander from expanding/collapsing when users click inside the header area. This is basically the same question as Q 1396153, but I'd appreciate a more favorable answer :) Is there a non-invasive way to do this? I am not sure exactly how to attach behavior to the Expander.Header content to prevent mouseclicks. I'm willing to float in content outside the expander itself via a fixed grid layout, but I'm not keen on the solution. Ideas? XamlPad sample XAML: <Page xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:sys="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" > <Expander> <Expander.Header><TextBlock>When I click this text, I don't want to trigger expansion/collapse! Only when I click the expander button do I want to trigger an expand/collapse!</TextBlock></Expander.Header> <Grid Background="Red" Height="100" Width="100" > </Grid> </Expander> </Page>

  • How does PATH environment affect my running executable from using msvcr90 to msvcr80 ???

    - by Runner
#include <gtk/gtk.h> int main( int argc, char *argv[] ) { GtkWidget *window; gtk_init (&argc, &argv); window = gtk_window_new (GTK_WINDOW_TOPLEVEL); gtk_widget_show (window); gtk_main (); return 0; } I tried putting various versions of MSVCR80.dll under the same directory as the generated executable(via cmake),but none matched. Is there a general solution for this kinda problem? UPDATE Some answers recommend install the VS redist, but I'm not sure whether or not it will affect my installed Visual Studio 9, can someone confirm? Manifest file of the executable <assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0"> <trustInfo xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v3"> <security> <requestedPrivileges> <requestedExecutionLevel level="asInvoker" uiAccess="false"></requestedExecutionLevel> </requestedPrivileges> </security> </trustInfo> <dependency> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.VC90.DebugCRT" version="9.0.21022.8" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"></assemblyIdentity> </dependentAssembly> </dependency> </assembly> It seems the manifest file says it should use the MSVCR90, why it always reporting missing MSVCR80.dll? FOUND After spending several hours on it,finally I found it's caused by this setting in PATH: D:\MATLAB\R2007b\bin\win32 After removing it all works fine. But why can that setting affect my running executable from using msvcr90 to msvcr80 ???

  • Ribbon not showing up with dynamically generated ribbon XML from the database

    - by ydobonmai
I am trying to form ribbon XML with the data from the database and following is what I wrote:- XNamespace xNameSpace = "http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/customui"; XDocument document = new XDocument(); document.Add( new XElement (xNameSpace+"customUI" , new XElement("ribbon" , new XElement("tabs")))); // more code to add the groups and the controls with-in the groups ....... // code below to add ribbon XML to the document and to add the relationship RibbonExtensibilityPart ribbonExtensibilityPart = myDoc.AddNewPart<RibbonExtensibilityPart>(); ribbonExtensibilityPart.CustomUI = new DocumentFormat.OpenXml.Office.CustomUI.CustomUI(ribbonXml.ToString()); myDoc.CreateRelationshipToPart(ribbonExtensibilityPart); I don't see any error executing the above. However, when I open the changed document, I dont see my ribbon added. I see following in the CustomUI/CustomUI.xml inside the word:- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/customui"> <ribbon xmlns=""> <tabs> ..... I am not sure how the "xmlns" attribute is getting added to the ribbon element. When I remove that attribute, the ribbon gets showed. Could anybody throw any idea on where am I going wrong?

  • Android: Why my user Interface does not get drawn when I Inflate the resource layout file?

    - by Einiosaurus
    First of all, I'm a newbie on Android programming, so please be detailed in your answers. I have a layout main.xml file with format similar to <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android = "http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation = "vertical" android:layout_width = "fill_parent" android:layout_height = "fill_parent"> <LinearLayout xmlns:android = "http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation = "horizontal"   android:layout_width = "fill_parent" android:layout_height = "fill_parent"> <EditText android:id="@+id/a" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/xSquared" android:layout_width = "fill_parent" android:layout_height = "wrap_content" android:text = "@string/equationPart1" /> </LinearLayout> <LinearLayout ... </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> In my Java source file, I inflate the UI using command: setContentView(R.layout.main); public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); } However, when I run the emulator, the UI does not show up like what I expect. Instead, it just display a simple EditText text box. I wonder what is going wrong. Is it because I put a layout inside another layout? I don't think there is any problem with that right?
