• Why is my CSS tool tip not functioning properly in Google Chrome, but fine in Firefox??

  http://betawww.helpcurenow.org/media/press/ You'll see I have used spans within an anchor, with the span.hover-description set to display:none; by default, and on a:hover that span is set to display block and absolutely positioned to create a tool-tip effect when hovering over the name and email of the "For Immediate Release" contact names. Everything looks as desired in Firefox, but Chrome reveals my unknown blunder somewhere. Any help on what's the problem that is causing Chrome to not display like Firefox? Incidentally, Explorer shows the tool tip as expected, although I'm getting a funky bottom margin issue below the names, and Safari has the same issue as Chrome (must be a webkit rendering setting that I need to accommodate for).

• Possible Google Analytics Bug - Traffic Sources Total Visits not matching Total Visits in other repo

  Hello, Has anyone else seen this issue? As of roughly 2 weeks ago, I get conflicting figures for the Total Visits metric between the Traffic Sources report and the other reports (e.g. Visitors, Dashboard). For example, for the week of 5/9/2010 through 5/15/2010, the Dashboard and Visitors reports both say 386 Visits. The Traffic Sources report says 157 Visits, and the 4 main source types (Search, Direct, Referral, Other) sum to 157 Visits, not 386. Any ideas? Is this a known bug, or could there be a configuration issue? Thanks.

• Tool to automatically add tracing or instrumentation to an .NET app?

  I have a .NET app which runs once a day. Sometimes there's a logical error somewhere which occurs randomly. Is there a tool like Eqatec's Tracer which automatically injects instrumentation in the code and logs everything to a file? The issue with Eqatec's Tracer is that it opens a window on the machine and it doesn't seem to log. My issue rarely occurs and I need to keep all logs for a long time. I don't want to change the source code and add logging statements all over the place. I am aware of PostSharp & Logfaces.

• Why doesn't infinite recursion hit a stack overflow exception in F#?

  I know this is somewhat the reverse of the issue people are having when they ask about a stack overflow issue, but if I create a function and call it as follows, I never receive any errors, and the application simply grinds up a core of my CPU until I force-quit it: let rec recursionTest x = recursionTest x recursionTest 1 Of course I can change this out so it actually does something like this: let rec recursionTest (x: uint64) = recursionTest (x + 1UL) recursionTest 0UL This way I can occasionally put a breakpoint in my code and see the value of x is going up rather quickly, but it still doesn't complain. Does F# not mind infinite recursion?

Then the result handler function may not get called every time, since the call responder gets a new token before it received the last response. Is there a standard way of resolving this issue? I came up with the following workaround, and it works fine, but it seems like this issue would be common enough to have a more built-in solution. • Please help me to allow my `JTable` to search the text even the table is in editable mode on key-press

  If user starts pressing keys using keyboards then JTable is supposed to be searched the matching text for him and if user double clicks on cell then Table should allow him to edit the text. And the issue is - Table is only searching text when the table is in non-editable mode and if Table is editable and user starts typing the text-using keyboard, cell is allowing him to edit the cell rather then search. Mr mKorbel has just solved my issue to allow edit only if double click on Table cell. Please help me to allow my JTable to search the text even the table is in editable mode on key-press.

• html5media & flowplayer wmode issues...

  I'm working on our new homepage and need to implement a solution that will run a video across iphone/ipad and the standard web browsers. I found a pretty decent solution with html5media - http://code.google.com/p/html5media/ but ran across an issue with a jquery dropdown falling behind the the swf object (this only happens on FF & IE - works fine on Safari & Chrome because it's loading mp4 instead of a swf object). I know the issue is the wmode setting but can not for the life of me figure out where to set it in the html5media (http://html5media.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/html5media.min.js). I'm hoping someone can help me or possibly give me a better solution of implementing the video. • jQuery image fade not working for unknown reason...?

  Just when I thought I was done for the night, another issue is keeping me awake. It appears that somehow I have broken the fade I was using on my thumbnails. If you go here: http://ftframes.com/milad2/ When you hover your mouse of the thumbnails, it should fade up. To give you an idea, this is a working version of the script: http://nothingcantouchme.com/stackoverflow.php#download_page As you can see, the hover works fine with the fade.   Hello, I am running a jetspeed portal which contains various portlet applications and have come across an issue after a recent reinstall where some of the portlets will return Cannot pass a null PortletDefinition to a PortletEntity Any idea what is causing this issue? I investigated a bit and it seems that jetspeed runs a process when new portlets are added where it creates mappings in its DB (derby in my case). If this does not complete it seems to cause this problem. Is my assumption correct? If yes, how can I restart this process? Many thanks

  I was just reading a recent question on using conditionals in Linq and it reminded me of an issue I have not been able to resolve. When building Linq to SQL queries programatically how can this be done when the number of conditionals is not known until runtime? For instance in the code below the first clause creates an IQueryable that, if executed, would select all the tasks (called issues) in the database, the 2nd clause will refine that to just issues assigned to one department if one has been selected in a combobox (Which has it's selected item bound to the departmentToShow property). How could I do this using the selectedItems collection instead? • CaptureCameraDialog returns OK but does not save (Motorola ES400)

  Ok it seems like everyone in the world has issues with CaptureCameraDialog. In my case the result is OK, but when taking the photo there is a MessageBox that says "Error" that appears and disappears in the blink of an eye, then returns to my app (so I don't have time to actually read the error). It has not saved the file. It does not throw an error to my application. There is also another issue which is exactly the same as the issue talked about here (yet none of the fixes work for me). http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-4025602.php Does anyone know how to get the "error message" that the dialogue box displays for an instant?

  Hi Everyone. I am experiencing an odd issue. I just switched to FastCGI (Apache) because of the big performance boost. Everything is working great, except when I attempt to use sendmail (Codeigniter Class or just raw PHP). I have tested with and without CI and still get a 500 internal server error when trying to send. Could this be getting caused by a discrepency in how FastCGI utilizes sendmail? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Also, the email will send, it just errors afterwards. Please let me know a solution if you have one! Thanks! :)

• .Net LoginControls - User can't logout in Firefox

  Basically, the logout link doesn't do anything, but only in Firefox. (I can login and out freely from other browsers) There really isn't a whole lot of information I can really give other than that, since I'm still new to this project and .net as a whole, and know almost nothing about the login controls. So if someone else has experienced a similar issue in the past, and can recognize the issue with the little info I have, that would be great! If not, sorry for the lack of depth, but its all I have. UserControlBase has some common functions that are used in all user controls. I want to put error display funtion to UserControlBase as well so that I may not have to declare and manage it in all user controls. Error will be displayed in some label in usercontrol. • App stays in splash screen in iOS 7.0.3

  Recently in iOS 7.0.3, my app stays in the splash screen and was not going into the app at all. If i kill the app, and launch it again it opens up without any issues. Can anyone help me on this issue?. I think the application -didFinishLaunchingWithOptions was not returning yes. Note: I have a lot of stuffs like deleting database, initializing a dozen of buttons in appdelegate's *init* function. I know that it is a bad practice to have things in init but since its been there for more than 4 years and was working fine with previous OS versions i didn't find a good reason to change it. Also this issue is not happening all the time. My app size is 40 MB. Thanks in advance...

  I'm starting to delve into using Spring DM and OSGi services in an RCP application. I've created a service which is used by another bundle in the RCP application. It does a lookup of the service via calls to getBundleContext().getServiceReference() using the explicit bundle names and service class names. I'm not using DI anywhere yet. The issue I'm running into is that the service that is returned in the requesting bundle is a singleton. At times I notice a threading issue since it is a "stateful" service. How do I configure the application to get back a new service instance with each call?   I'm making a little project with Seam, Hibernate and JSF. This project run on JBoss 5.1. My boss wants to deploy this project on WebLogic. I read on the seam documentation that seam and WebLogic don't work fine together. I would like to know if I can use Hibernate (with JPA) and JSF on WebLogic and what framework (struts, spring?) I can use to replace Seam. Edit: I read in the seam documentation (chapter 39, weblogic integration) and I find that: For several releases of Weblogic there has been an issue with how Weblogic generates stubs and compiles EJB's that use variable arguments in their methods. This is confirmed in the Weblogic 9.X and 10.0.MP1 versions. Unfortunately the 10.3 version only partially addresses the issue as detailed below. So, I want to know if other problems like this exist.   I have a simple asp .net web project I'm working on, and while normally everything is going fine, if I try to debug the site, I get "SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified". I'm not sure if its a weird code issue or a weird SQL Server Issue, but here are the system specs anyway. My dev machine is Windows 7 32-bit, and a Windows Server 2008 VM (on the same Windows 7 Machine) runs both IIS and SQL Server 2008 Express. I haven't had any other problems with the connection string I'm using, and I'm using the simple SA account. Anyhow, thanks for the help.

• How to Transfer Large File from MS Word Add-In (VBA) to Web Server?

  Overview I have a Microsoft Word Add-In, written in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), that compresses a document and all of it's related contents (embedded media) into a zip archive. After creating the zip archive it then turns the file into a byte array and posts it to an ASMX web service. This mostly works. Issues The main issue I have is transferring large files to the web site. I can successfully upload a file that is around 40MB, but not one that is 140MB (timeout/general failure). A secondary issue is that building the byte array in the VBScript Word Add-In can fail by running out of memory on the client machine if the zip archive is too large. Potential Solutions I am considering the following options and am looking for feedback on either option or any other suggestions. Option One Opening a file stream on the client (MS Word VBA) and reading one "chunk" at a time and transmitting to ASMX web service which assembles the "chunks" into a file on the server. This has the benefit of not adding any additional dependencies or components to the application, I would only be modifying existing functionality. (Fewer dependencies is better as this solution should work in a variety of server environments and be relatively easy to set up.) Question: Are there examples of doing this or any recommended techniques (either on the client in VBA or in the web service in C#/VB.NET)? Option Two I understand WCF may provide a solution to the issue of transferring large files by "chunking" or streaming data. However, I am not very familiar with WCF, and am not sure what exactly it is capable of or if I can communicate with a WCF service from VBA. This has the downside of adding another dependency (.NET 3.0). But if using WCF is definitely a better solution I may not mind taking that dependency. Questions: Does WCF reliably support large file transfers of this nature? If so, what does this involve? Any resources or examples? Are you able to call a WCF service from VBA? Any examples?

  How to achieve this stuff below? Please give me some guidance for it. I describe my issue below. When I tap home button and remove app from tray and while I am opening app I get the login screen. I know how to use NSUserDefaults well. But my issue is that when I navigate 3rd or 4th viewController and I press Home Button and remove app from tray, Then whenever I open app than I want to open with last open viewController. Also same when my app is Crashing and I am opening it again then I want to open app with last open viewController state. So I just want to know that is that possible or not? If yes, then please guide me how to achieve this stuff. Thank you
