    Is there a way to select all the contents of a node in Nokogiri? <root> <element>this is <hi>the content</hi> of my æøå element</element> </root> The result of getting the content of /root/element should be this is <hi>the content</hi> of my æøå element Edit: It seems like the solution is simply to use myElement.inner_html(). The problem I had was in fact that I was relying on an old version of libxml2, which escaped all the special characters.

    Ok, I'm not sure how this is normally done. But I've got a script that basically empties a div of content and then loads content from a div from a separate webpage, without reloading the current page. This works great. It's taken from this example actually, from net tuts (great site btw) http://nettuts.s3.amazonaws.com/011_jQuerySite/sample/index.html And the guy who wrote this even though about handling the url's since the url don't change when using his method. So he wrote a javascript snippet that looks up the url and loads the content accoringly. Which is not working btw. But I was thinking about people who don't have javascript enabled, or iPhone and iPad users ;) Copying URLs and sending to a friend won't work at all. So how is this typically done? And can it be done without javascript? Possibly by php?

    Hi, I have a series of frames (4) which are used in a page to create loading of dynamic content through Ajax calls. In each of these frames I target parent level elements and update them with there respective content e.g. $("#loadingGrid1",top.document).show(); $("#frameSkills",top.document).hide(); In jQuery is there a way to instead of targeting specific elements on the parent page multiple times, simply target the page once into a variable e.g. var parentPage=$('#frameSkills',top.document); And then use this variable to apply content like $(parentPage #loadingGrid1).hide() Hope I've explained what I'm after enough. Basically, I'm having to call "top.document" in every jQuery selector I make and it seems like a waste of energy.

  • Can I dynamically adjust the height of a css set div border?

    Ok so I have a div that contains a few forms that have dynamically generated content. There are categories, that if you click on, slide/toggle down to reveal that categories sub-contents, or projects. Right now, I have it setup so that if the height of the div expands to exceed a set amount, a scroll bar shows up at the side, and the user can scroll down and see the content. NOW I am being asked to get rid of the scroll bar, and just have the div's border (which is just 1px set in the css) height adjust dynamically with the height of the div's content...can I even do that? Is there some sort of jquery animation that would allow that? A point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

    I need to be able to change the size of my Silverlight object at run time because I have content that changes in size dramatically between pages, and I'd rather not show a Silverlight scroll bar inside the browser scroll bar. I was able to do the following to get it to work: In the aspx page hosting the silverlight control: - Set your Div to the starting size you need it to be - Set the Silverlight Obejct to width=”100%” height=”100%” In your Main page add this: public static void ChangeSize(string height) { var myDiv = HtmlPage.Plugin.Parent; while (myDiv.TagName != "div") myDiv = myDiv.Parent; myDiv.SetStyleAttribute("height", height); } Anywhere you want to now change the size of the page do this: string newHeight = (App.Current.Host.Content.ActualHeight + 75).ToString(); MainPage.ChangeSize(newHeight + "px"); //App.Current.Host.Content.ActualHeight will get the current actual height of the object Is there a way that I can set this to re-size automatically so that I do not have to specify the amount to change? Currently using SL 2, interested in if there is another way in a different version though.

How can I let google know what is there so people can find the site through a search engine. What programming techniques could I use to give more content to the google bot.     I have a template system, that replaces text such as {HEADER} with the appropriate content. I use an array like this, that replaces the key with the value using str_replace. $array = array("HEADER","This is the header"); foreach($array as $var => $content) { $template = str_replace("{" . strtoupper($var). "}", $content,$template); } Now im trying to use a defined variable like this: define("NAME","Site Name"); Inside the value for the header. So I want the defined variable to be inside the array which gets replaced so it would look like this, but it doesn't work. $array = array("HEADER","Welcome to ".NAME."'s website!"); Any ideas? tell me if im not clear
