• How can I achive this effect jQuery? or can it be done with CSS?

- by Charles Marsh
Hello All, Is it possible to switch HTML on click? I have an index page with a large image on the front. Under the image there is four links. When the cursor rolls over the link I would like a small tool tip to appear. Then when the clicks the link I want the large Image to change and some extra HTML to appear over it. (just a small content box) The tooltip I think I have sorted using Jquery but I'm not sure how I can change the image AND add a small content box over the image. Thanks in advanced everyone.

• javascript pop-up menu help

- by baiano
I am working on a project similar to a table where the user will be able to add rows. Right now there is just one row type available but I would like to give the user the ability to select from a list without changing the layout of the page. So, I put together a menu that appears on mouseover of the 'add row' link and disappears on mouseout (with a slight delay and fade in/out) using mootools event listeners. It looks like: I am now trying to figure out an easy way to make it so that the list stays available when the user's mouse leaves the 'add a row' link to go to select an item from the list. I looked through various mootools add-ons and tutorial but didn't find anything all that helpful. Does anyone know of a good tutorial guide me through this or can otherwise point me in the right direction here?

• SharePoint Conference 2012&ndash;How To Find Me

- by MOSSLover
Hey guys I will be at the conference if you don’t follow me on twitter and you want to find me.  Look around the Women in SharePoint area in the Community Lounge.  If you don’t find me at the Community Lounge then I would say try to look at the Planet Technologies booth for me.  If you don’t find me in that booth then try Booth #22 the SharePoint Pavilion.  If I’m not in any of these places I’m either in a session, sleeping, running, or wearing a cloaking device.  You can ask me all kinds of questions about Planet, Women in SharePoint, and such.  I can try to answer the questions as best I can or direct you to someone smarter.  See you all at SPC 12! • Is there a 'hello world' website for django? OR (I've installed django, now what) ?

- by morpheous
I'm learning Python and decided to start familiarizing myself with the (defacto?) Python web framework - django. I have successfully installed the latest release of django. I want a simple 'hello world' website that will get me up and running quickly. I am already familiar with web frameworks (albeit for different languages) - so I just need a simple 'hello world' example website to help me get going. Ideally, I don't want to mess up with my Apache server settings (as I am still experimenting), so I want to use the lightweight web server that django bundles. I cant seem to find how to do this on the django website though - no doubt someone will post a link and shame me ... So, does anyone know of a link that shows how to get a simple 'hello world' django website up and running with minimal fuss?

• dll runtime error(C/C++/GCC/MSVC)

- by coanor
After two days fighting, I make the dll(compiled in GCC/G++) link correctly in MSVC, but while debuging, I got the runtime error, is say that: Runtime Error! Program: my_exe.exe This application has required the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I have test something in that way: compiled a dll in mingw/gcc, link and debug in MSVC, it works correctly ,but while I implement it in my large project, I got the runtime error. And I tested the dll in mingw/GCC, it works correctly, it says that the runtime error does not come from programming error,it comes from the dll imcompatible between different platform. Does anyone can hele me? Thanks, forgive my poor English.

• Non-CDN hosted jQuery caused some strange behaviour

- by kwokwai
Hi all, I was using this JQuery in this download link, and included it in the head tag of a HTML web page: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> In a php web page, I got these few lines of codes: $.ajax({ url: 'http://mywebsite.com/site1/toavail/, type: "post", success: function(data) { // some more code here } }); When I tested the HTML page in IE 6, and 7, I saw the same warning message: "permission denied" When I tested it in Firefox 3, nothing was returned from the server web page. Later, I changed the JQuery source link to be: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.js I refreshed the web page, and I could saw the returned value then.

• looping through new div as they are created

- by eknown
I have a div, let's call it class="phoneNo". Inside the div there are two links, one to add another div just like it, and another to delete the div itself. I'm trying to create a loop where if there's only 1 of these divs, the "delete" link should hide, and if there are more than 1 of these divs, the "delete" link should show up on all the divs. So far I came up with this, but no success: var pCount = $(".phoneNo").length; $(pCount).each(function(){ if (pCount <= 1) { $("a.deleteThis").hide(); } else if (pCount >= 1) { $("a.deleteThis").show(); } return true; });

• Silverlight debugging, no list element view

- by Snake
When I'm debugging my Silverlight Appliction and I'm using a list internally I cannot hover over the list and see the items inside the list. I just see the RAW view of the list. If I want to see the items I have to write my own code which is tedious. Is this something normal to Silverlight? I DO have the correct list view when debugging in normal Console/WPF/... applications. Example: Silverlight: (link: click) See how there is no 'list view in the first example? And there in this one: And for non Silverlight: (link: click)

• Ajax twice + facbook login/logout

- by Devenv
Hi, I have a very specific problem. The site I'm developing loads the FB connect button by ajax (it loads the box that includes FBC button). And when user logs in it loads instead of it the box with FB logout link. The problem is that FB requires to call FB.init() at the end of the body (when all the FB stuff is already on the page) and you can't do it twice as the second time is ignored. So what happens is - I do FB.init() inside the login box and FBC button works perfectly, but the logout link doesn't as FB.init() doesn't work there. The only solution I came up with is to place the login and logout buttons outside of ajax boxes and show them in the right places after ajax boxes are loaded. I'm pretty much sure this will work but I don't like the solution (which looks more like hack).

• JAVA: XML parsers gives null element

- by Johan
When I try to parse a XML-file, it gives sometimes a null element by the title. I think it has to do with HTML-tags &#039; How can I solve this problem? • Why isn't my favicon appearing in IE7/8?

- by X3Maverick
Page of interest: https://www.gsb-yourbank.com/test/ ICO file: https://www.gsb-yourbank.com/test/favicon.ico My favicon is a 16x16 resolution, 16-color ICO file. It will not appear in IE 7/8 no matter what I do! I've tried everything I can think of, including: generating the ICO with a variety of different utilities, changing the syntax of the favicon link elements in the document head, using absolute, relative, and root-relative URLs in the favicon link elements, using a PNG instead of an ICO file, ensuring that I am uploading the file via FTP in binary mode, As a longtime web developer/programmer, I can't believe that this is tripping me up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Launch Activity with Intent Filter on Right Time

- by user511853
Hi. I want to launch my own media player application when I want to watch a video from Youtube. When I write android:scheme="http" and android:host="m.youtube.com" it is OK. But, it asks everywhere in m.youtube.com to open my app. So, it gets annoying. I tried to use pathPattern, pathPrefix and path to solve this but I didn't get ahead. All I want is clearly this: When the link is like "http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F%gl=US#" the intent filter shouldn't launch my app. When the link is like "http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=k3Cdqx1qFX8" my application should be launched. Is there anyone that can help me?

• Selenium navigation inside foreach loop

- by smudgedlens
I am having an issue with navigation. I get a list of rows from an html table. I iterate over the rows and scrape information from them. But there is also a link on the row that I click to go to more information related to the row to scrape. Then I navigate back to the page with the original table. This works for the first row, but for the subsequent rows, it throws an exception. I look at my row collection after the first time the link inside a row is clicked, and none of them have the correct values like they did before I clicked the link. I believe that there is something going on when I navigate to a different URL that I'm not getting. My code is below. How do I get this working so I can iterate over the parent table, click the links in each row, navigate to the child table, but still continue iterating over the rows in the parent table? private List<Document> getResults() { var documents = new List<Document>(); //Results IWebElement docsTable = this.webDriver.FindElements(By.TagName("table")) .Where(table => table.Text.Contains("Document List")) .FirstOrDefault(); var validDocRowRegex = new Regex(@"^(\d{3}\s+)"); var docRows = docsTable.FindElements(By.TagName("tr")) .Where(row => //It throws an exception with .FindElement() when there isn't one. row.FindElements(By.TagName("td")).FirstOrDefault() != null && //Yeah, I don't get this one either. I negate the match and so it works?? !validDocRowRegex.IsMatch( row.FindElement(By.TagName("td")).Text)) .ToList(); foreach (var docRow in docRows) { //Todo: find out why this is crashing on some documents. var cells = docRow.FindElements(By.TagName("td")); var document = new Document { DocID = Convert.ToInt32(cells.First().Text), PNum = Convert.ToInt32(cells[1].Text), AuthNum = Convert.ToInt32(cells[2].Text) }; //Go to history for the current document. cells.Where(cell => cell.FindElements(By.TagName("a")).FirstOrDefault() != null) .FirstOrDefault().Click(); //Todo: scrape child table. this.webDriver.Navigate().Back(); } return documents; }

• I can't login to facebook from any browser

- by user92974
I'm Using UBUNTU 12.04. I'm having problems with Facebook. It really hard to login. Takes like 3 or 5 min. At first I thought it was a flash problem but then I realized it could be some proxy's conf file. Other sites doesn't have problems. Yesterday I tried Tor-browser-bundle and I installed privoxy using this rules http://www.neilvandyke.org/privoxy-rules/ . Today I removed privoxy and the conf file with the Ubuntu software center and ubuntu-tweak. I don't really find the problem and my windows pc does not have any problem with the same modem. I don't have an ISP'S PROXY it just a direct Internet connection using automatic DHCP. Maybe I am missing something else. But I want to be sure so, I'm asking. PD: Sorry for my English I'm Argentinian.

• How to represent a 3-way relation with JPA?

- by simpatico
A user may have several labels, and links. Then, a user associates a label (or more) to a link. How does one represent the later relationship? A solution could be a many-to-many relationship btw user and link with the optional attribute label. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Java_Persistence/ManyToMany#Mapping_a_Join_Table_with_Additional_Columns In this case the relationship btw user and label may better be 'virtual'. Any alternative I'm not seeing? PS: I've used google bookmarks terminology, as it matches my case quite well.

• What's a good model for continuous manager <-> programmer feedback?

- by MebAlone
Is it important for managers to give devs regular feedback on how they're doing and vice versa? I say vice versa because I consider employees to be responsible to their manager, and managers to be responsible to their employees. Everyone seems to think this is a good idea but in practice I rarely see it happen because so many shops are "agile" now and that usually means a daily standup plus a weekly kickoff, etc. So one-on-ones just don't happen. In my last position I had my first one-on-one w/ my manager 6 months after I'd been w/ the company. It turned out there was lots of misunderstanding, misalignment and confusion built up and snowballed. Not really surprising when there's no direct personal communication for that long.

• How can I send an array of strings from one ASP.NET page to another?

- by Andrei
Hello. I now have two asp.net pages. When I click on a link on page A, I open the other one (let's call it page B). When I do this, I want to send some information from Page A to Page B in the form of an array of strings. This array is different depending on what link I follow on Page A. I know I could send this information via the URL with the ?string1=bla1&string2=bla2 etc., but I don't want it that way, as it can get complicated if there are too many strings in the array. I think there is something similar, like a POST in PHP, but how would that be in ASP? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Cheers!

• How to capture child links clicked using jquery?

- by user244394
I am trying to capture the event when a child element link is clicked and add class called "highlightchild" to it. Also I want to check if there are any child element link exist or not, if no child element exits ie "third level" highlight with "highlightparent" the parent. How can I do that using jquery? $(document).ready(function() { $('.menu ul').hide(); $('.menu .arrowUp').click(function() { $('.menu ul').hide(); $(this).find(".third-level").toggle(); }); }); html <ul class="menu"> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="#">link1</a> <ul class="third-level" > <!-- third level non-active --> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="/somelink/">Some Link</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="#">link2</a> <ul class="third-level" > <!-- third level non-active --> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="/links2/">some Links 2</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="#">link3</a> <ul class="third-level" > <!-- third level non-active --> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="/Agri/">Agricultural</a></li> <!-- third level non-active --> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="/sugar/">Sugar</a></li> <!-- third level non-active --> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="/bbc/">Coffee</a></li> <!-- third level non-active --> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="/cnn/">Energy</a></li> <!-- third level non-active --> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="funstuff">Fun stuff</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="#">link4</a></li> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="#">link5</a></li> <li class="arrowUp"><a href="#">link6</a></li> </ul>

• overiding to_param of a nested attribute

- by cbrulak
I'm trying to create a perma link for a nested attribute. For example, look at the links for the answers in SO. I would like to do something similar in rails: I have Project model with multiple tasks and I would like to create a perma link to a task. The task can only viewed with the project, just like Q & A on SO. Ideally, i would do something like: task_helper.rb: def GetTaskURL project = Project.find(:project_id) return project_url(project,:html) + "#" + id end However, i get a method not found. So it seems the only way is to hard-code it: domain.com url + Projects/show/id.html#task.id Must be a better way?

• How to get current controller for a URL in Rails?

- by valk
I'm using this code to highlight currently active menu tab with Twitter Bootstrap: def nav_link_to(link_text, link_path, options = nil) class_name = current_page?(link_path) ? 'active' : '' content_tag(:li, :class => class_name) do link_to link_text, link_path, options end end This of course makes the link active, only if the given link IS the current page. How can I change this function, such that it would return 'active' for any links below current controller? In other words, for all actions for Posts controller, the links would be active? Thanks.

• How SQLite on Android handles long stings?

- by Levara
Hi! I'm wondering how Android's implementation of SQLite handles long Strings. Reading from online documentation on sqlite, it said that strings in sqlite are limited to 1 million characters. My strings are definitely smaller. I'm creating a simple RSS application, and after parsing a html document, and extracting text, I'm having problem saving it to a database. I have 2 tables in database, feeds and articles. RSS feeds are correctly saved and retrieved from feeds table, but when saving to the articles table, logcat is saying that it cannot save extracted text to it's column. I don't know if other columns are making problems too, no mention of them in logcat. I'm wondering, since text is from an article on web, are signs like (",',;) creating problems? Is Android automaticaly escaping them, or I have to do that. I'm using a technique for inserting similar to one in notepad tutorial: public long insertArticle(long feedid, String title, String link, String description, String h1, String h2, String h3, String p, String image, long date) { ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues(); initialValues.put(KEY_FEEDID, feedid); initialValues.put(KEY_TITLE, title); initialValues.put(KEY_LINK, link); initialValues.put(KEY_DESCRIPTION, description ); initialValues.put(KEY_H1, h1 ); initialValues.put(KEY_H2, h2); initialValues.put(KEY_H3, h3); initialValues.put(KEY_P, p); initialValues.put(KEY_IMAGE, image); initialValues.put(KEY_DATE, date); return mDb.insert(DATABASE_TABLE_ARTICLES,null, initialValues); } Column P is for extracted text, h1, h2 and h3 are for headers from a page. Logcat reports only column p to be the problem. The table is created with following statement: private static final String DATABASE_CREATE_ARTICLES = "create table articles( _id integer primary key autoincrement, feedid integer, title text, link text not null, description text," + "h1 text, h2 text, h3 text, p text, image text, date integer);"; Thanks!
