  • C# PrintPreviewDialog Modification possible?

    - by C. Griffin
    Currently, what I'm doing is this: Using the built-in .NET PrintPreviewDialog Attaching my own Click handler to the Print button, which allows for the user to select the printer before finally printing. This all WORKS, HOWEVER, the OnprintToolStripButtonClick event is still sending the document to the default printer BEFORE the user gets to choose the actual printer and click Print (which works, but they're getting an extra copy on the default printer first from the old Handler). Can I remove this built-in Click handler? I've tried the other methods mentioned on here in regards to using an EventHandlerList to remove the handlers, but it doesn't work for the built-in printing event. Here is a copy of my current code in case it helps clarify: // ... Irrelevant code before this private PrintPreviewDialog ppdlg; ToolStrip ts = new ToolStrip(); ts.Name = "wrongToolStrip"; foreach (Control ctl in ppdlg.Controls) { if (ctl.Name.Equals("toolStrip1")) { ts = ctl as ToolStrip; break; } } ToolStripButton printButton = new ToolStripButton(); foreach (ToolStripItem tsi in ts.Items) { if (tsi.Name.Equals("printToolStripButton")) { printButton = tsi as ToolStripButton; } } printButton.Click += new EventHandler(this.SelectPrinterAfterPreview); // ... Irrelevant code afterwards omitted // Here is the Handler for choosing a Printer that gets called after the // PrintPreviewDialog's "Print" button is clicked. private void SelectPrinterAfterPreview(object sender, EventArgs e) { frmMainPage frmMain = (frmMainPage)this.MdiParent; if (frmMain.printDialog1.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK) { pd.PrinterSettings.PrinterName = frmMain.printDialog1.PrinterSettings.PrinterName; pd.PrinterSettings.Copies = frmMain.printDialog1.PrinterSettings.Copies; pd.Print(); } }

  • Problem with Mapping Linq-to-Sql on different Types

    - by csharpnoob
    Hi, maybe someone can help. I want to have on mapped Linq-Class different Datatype. This is working: private System.Nullable<short> _deleted = 1; [Column(Storage = "_deleted", Name = "deleted", DbType = "SmallInt", CanBeNull = true)] public System.Nullable<short> deleted { get { return this._deleted; } set { this._deleted = value; } } Sure thing. But no when i want to place some logic for boolean, like this: private System.Nullable<short> _deleted = 1; [Column(Storage = "_deleted", Name = "deleted", DbType = "SmallInt", CanBeNull = true)] public bool deleted { get { if (this._deleted == 1) { return true; } return false; } set { if(value == true) { this._deleted = (short)1; }else { this._deleted = (short)0; } } } I get always runtime error: [TypeLoadException: GenericArguments[2], "System.Nullable`1[System.Int16]", on 'System.Data.Linq.Mapping.PropertyAccessor+Accessor`3[T,V,V2]' violates the constraint of type parameter 'V2'.] I can't change the database to bit.. I need to have casting in mapping class.

  • Logic inside an enum

    - by Vivin Paliath
    My colleagues and I were having a discussion regarding logic in enums. My personal preference is to not have any sort of logic in Java enums (although Java provides the ability to do that). The discussion in this cased centered around having a convenience method inside the enum that returned a map: public enum PackageTypes { Letter("01", "Letter"), .. .. Tube("02", "Packaging Tube"); private String packageCode; private String packageDescription; .. .. public static Map<String, String> toMap() { Map<String, String> map = new LinkedHashMap<String, String>(); for(PackageType packageType : PackageType.values()) { map.put(packageType.getPackageCode(), packageType.getPackageDescription()); } return map; } } My personal preference is to pull this out into a service. The argument for having the method inside the enum centered around convenience. The idea was that you don't have to go to a service to get it, but can query the enum directly. My argument centered around separation of concern and abstracting any kind of logic out to a service. I didn't think "convenience" was a strong argument to put this method inside an enum. From a best-practices perspective, which one is better? Or does it simply come down to a matter of personal preference and code style?

  • Custom ViewModel with MVC 2 Strongly Typed HTML Helpers return null object on Create ?

    - by Barbaros Alp
    Hi, I am having a trouble while trying to create an entity with a custom view modeled create form. Below is my custom view model for Category Creation form. public class CategoryFormViewModel { public CategoryFormViewModel(Category category, string actionTitle) { Category = category; ActionTitle = actionTitle; } public Category Category { get; private set; } public string ActionTitle { get; private set; } } and this is my user control where the UI is <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<CategoryFormViewModel>" %> <h2> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.ActionTitle) %></span> </h2> <%=Html.ValidationSummary() %> <% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <p> <span class="bold block">Baslik:</span> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(model => Model.Category.Title, new { @class = "width80 txt-base" })%> </p> <p> <span class="bold block">Sira Numarasi:</span> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(model => Model.Category.OrderNo, new { @class = "width10 txt-base" })%> </p> <p> <input type="submit" class="btn-admin cursorPointer" value="Save" /> </p> <% } %> When i click on save button, it doesnt bind the category for me because of i am using custom view model and strongly typed html helpers like that <%=Html.TextBoxFor(model => Model.Category.OrderNo) %> How can i fix this ? Thanks in advance

  • In Java Concurrency In Practice by Brian Goetz, why is the Memoizer class not annotated with @ThreadSafe?

    - by dig_dug
    Java Concurrency In Practice by Brian Goetz provides an example of a efficient scalable cache for concurrent use. The final version of the example showing the implementation for class Memoizer (pg 108) shows such a cache. I am wondering why the class is not annotated with @ThreadSafe? The client, class Factorizer, of the cache is properly annotated with @ThreadSafe. The appendix states that if a class is not annotated with either @ThreadSafe or @Immutable that it should be assumed that it isn't thread safe. Memoizer seems thread-safe though. Here is the code for Memoizer: public class Memoizer<A, V> implements Computable<A, V> { private final ConcurrentMap<A, Future<V>> cache = new ConcurrentHashMap<A, Future<V>>(); private final Computable<A, V> c; public Memoizer(Computable<A, V> c) { this.c = c; } public V compute(final A arg) throws InterruptedException { while (true) { Future<V> f = cache.get(arg); if (f == null) { Callable<V> eval = new Callable<V>() { public V call() throws InterruptedException { return c.compute(arg); } }; FutureTask<V> ft = new FutureTask<V>(eval); f = cache.putIfAbsent(arg, ft); if (f == null) { f = ft; ft.run(); } } try { return f.get(); } catch (CancellationException e) { cache.remove(arg, f); } catch (ExecutionException e) { throw launderThrowable(e.getCause()); } } } }

  • Android Client : Web service - what's the correct SOAP_ACTION, METHOD_NAME, NAMESPACE, URL I should

    - by Hubert
    if I want to use the following Web service (help.be is just an example, let's say it does exist): http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php (it's written in PHP=client's choice, not .NET) with the following WSDL : <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <definitions xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" name="webservice_help" targetNamespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" xmlns:tns="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" xmlns:impl="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" xmlns:xsd1="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"> <portType name="webservice_helpPortType"> <operation name="webservice_help"> <input message="tns:Webservice_helpRequest"/> </operation> <operation name="getLocation" parameterOrder="input"> <input message="tns:GetLocationRequest"/> <output message="tns:GetLocationResponse"/> </operation> <operation name="getStationDetail" parameterOrder="input"> <input message="tns:GetStationDetailRequest"/> <output message="tns:GetStationDetailResponse"/> </operation> <operation name="getStationList" parameterOrder="input"> <input message="tns:GetStationListRequest"/> <output message="tns:GetStationListResponse"/> </operation> </portType> <binding name="webservice_helpBinding" type="tns:webservice_helpPortType"> <soap:binding style="rpc" transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http"/> <operation name="webservice_help"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:webservice_help#webservice_helpServer#webservice_help"/> <input> <soap:body use="encoded" namespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/> </input> </operation> <operation name="getLocation"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:webservice_help#webservice_helpServer#getLocation"/> <input> <soap:body parts="input" use="encoded" namespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/> </input> <output> <soap:body parts="return" use="encoded" namespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/> </output> </operation> <operation name="getStationDetail"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:webservice_help#webservice_helpServer#getStationDetail"/> <input> <soap:body parts="input" use="encoded" namespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/> </input> <output> <soap:body parts="return" use="encoded" namespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/> </output> </operation> <operation name="getStationList"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:webservice_help#webservice_helpServer#getStationList"/> <input> <soap:body parts="input" use="encoded" namespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/> </input> <output> <soap:body parts="return" use="encoded" namespace="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/> </output> </operation> </binding> <message name="Webservice_helpRequest"/> <message name="GetLocationRequest"> <part name="input" type="xsd:array"/> </message> <message name="GetLocationResponse"> <part name="return" type="xsd:array"/> </message> <message name="GetStationDetailRequest"> <part name="input" type="xsd:array"/> </message> <message name="GetStationDetailResponse"> <part name="return" type="xsd:string"/> </message> <message name="GetStationListRequest"> <part name="input" type="xsd:array"/> </message> <message name="GetStationListResponse"> <part name="return" type="xsd:string"/> </message> <service name="webservice_helpService"> <port name="webservice_helpPort" binding="tns:webservice_helpBinding"> <soap:address location="http://www.help.be/webservice/webservice_help.php"/> </port> </service> </definitions> What is the correct SOAP_ACTION, METHOD_NAME, NAMESPACE, URL I should use below ? Txs for your help. H.   • WCF NetTcpBinding Security - how does it work?

    - by RemotecUk
    Hi, encountered the following problems trying to work through the quagmire of settings in WCF... I created a WCF client server service using a NetTcp binding. I didn't make any changes to the security settings and when running on one machine it works very nicely. However, when I ran my client from another machine it complained that the server didnt like the security credentials that were sent. I understand now that NetTCP is "secured" by default and that my client would have been passing the wrong security details - namely the windows user name and password (or some form of domain authentication) to my server which as they are not running on the same domain it would not have liked. However, what I don't understand is as follows: I haven't specified any security in my binding - does the standard settings expect a windows user name or password to be sent? I don't have any certificate installed on my server - I understand that NetTCP bindings need some form of public private key to protect the credentials - yet this seemed to work when both client and server were on the same machine - how was the data getting encrypted? Or wants it as WCF knew it was on the same machine and encryption isn't needed? I have had to set my security mode on my client and server to "none" now and they connect nicely. However is there any way to encrypt my data without a certificate? Finally... what is the difference between Transport and Message security? To check my understanding (excuse the scenario!) message security is like if I sent a letter from person A to person B and I encode my hand writing to ensure that if anyone intercepts it they cannot read it? Transport Security is if I decide to have my letter sent by armed transport so that no one can get at it along the way? Is it possible to have any form of encryption in WCF without a certificate? My project is a private project and I dont want to purchase a certificate and the data isnt that sensitive anyway so its just for my own knowledge. Thanks in advance.

  • Handling exception from unmanaged dll in C#

    - by StuffHappens
    Hello. I have the following function written in C# public static string GetNominativeDeclension(string surnameNamePatronimic) { if(surnameNamePatronimic == null) throw new ArgumentNullException("surnameNamePatronimic"); IntPtr[] ptrs = null; try { ptrs = StringsToIntPtrArray(surnameNamePatronimic); int resultLen = MaxResultBufSize; int err = decGetNominativePadeg(ptrs[0], ptrs[1], ref resultLen); ThrowException(err); return IntPtrToString(ptrs, resultLen); } catch { return surnameNamePatronimic; } finally { FreeIntPtr(ptrs); } } Function decGetNominativePadeg is in unmanaged dll [DllImport("Padeg.dll", EntryPoint = "GetNominativePadeg")] private static extern Int32 decGetNominativePadeg(IntPtr surnameNamePatronimic, IntPtr result, ref Int32 resultLength); and throws an exception: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. The catch that is in C# code doesn't actually catch it. Why? How to handle this exception? Thank you for your help! UPDATED private static IntPtr[] StringsToIntPtrArray(params string[] strs) { IntPtr[] ptrs = new IntPtr[strs.Length + 1]; for(int i = 0; i < ptrs.Length - 1; i++) ptrs[i] = StringToIntPtr(strs[i]); ptrs[ptrs.Length - 1] = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(m_MaxResultStringBufSize); return ptrs; }

  • Generate BitmapSource from UIElement

    - by Joel
    I am attempting to generate a BitmapFrame that is based on a UIElement. Here is my function: private BitmapFrame RenderToBitmap2() { RenderTargetBitmap renderBitmap = new RenderTargetBitmap(200, 200, 96, 96, PixelFormats.Pbgra32); DrawingVisual drawingVisual = new DrawingVisual(); DrawingContext drawingContext = drawingVisual.RenderOpen(); VisualBrush aVisualBrush = new VisualBrush(GenerateTestStackPanel()); drawingContext.DrawRectangle(aVisualBrush, new Pen(Brushes.Green, 2), new Rect(new Size(150, 150))); drawingContext.Close(); renderBitmap.Render(drawingVisual); return BitmapFrame.Create(renderBitmap); } For testing and debugging purposes, I am using an additional function that creates a simple StackFrame that should create a valid visual element that can be represented: private StackPanel GenerateTestStackPanel() { // Create a red Ellipse. Ellipse myEllipse = new Ellipse(); myEllipse.Fill = Brushes.Green; myEllipse.StrokeThickness = 2; myEllipse.Stroke = Brushes.Black; // Set the width and height of the Ellipse. myEllipse.Width = 200; myEllipse.Height = 200; // Add the Ellipse to the StackPanel. StackPanel myStackPanel = new StackPanel(); myStackPanel.Children.Add(myEllipse); return myStackPanel; } For some reason, the VisualBrush is not being rendered in the DrawRetangle(...) function. I can see the green border but nothing else. In addition, if I swap out the VisualBrush with a standard brush, it works great: drawingContext.DrawRectangle(Brushes.Plum, new Pen(Brushes.Green, 2), new Rect(new Size(150, 150))); Thanks in advance! -Joel

  • ICollectionView.SortDescriptions sort does not work if underlying DataTable has zero rows

    - by BigBlondeViking
    We have a WPF app that has a DataGrid inside a ListView. private DataTable table_; We do a bunch or dynamic column generation ( depending on the report we are showing ) We then do the a query and fill the DataTable row by row, this query may or may not have data.( not the problem, an empty grid is expected ) We set the ListView's ItemsSource to the DefaultView of the DataTable. lv.ItemsSource = table_.DefaultView; We then (looking at the user's pass usage of the app, set the sort on the column) Sort Method below: private void Sort(string sortBy, ListSortDirection direction) { ICollectionView dataView = CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(lv.ItemsSource); dataView.SortDescriptions.Clear(); var sd = new SortDescription(sortBy, direction); dataView.SortDescriptions.Add(sd); dataView.Refresh(); } In the Zero DataTable rows scenario, the sort does not "hold"? and if we dynamically add rows they will not be in sorted order. If the DataTable has at-least 1 row when the sort is applied, and we dynamically add rows to the DataTable, the rows com in sorted correctly. I have built a standalone app that replicate this... It is an annoyance and I can add a check to see if the DataTable was empty, and re-apply the sort... Anyone know whats going on here, and am I doing something wrong? FYI: What we based this off if comes from the MSDN as well: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms745786.aspx

  • How to mass insert/update in linq to sql?

    - by chobo2
    Hi How can I do these 2 scenarios. Currently I am doing something like this public class Repository { private LinqtoSqlContext dbcontext = new LinqtoSqlContext(); public void Update() { // find record // update record // save record ( dbcontext.submitChanges() } public void Insert() { // make a database table object ( ie ProductTable t = new ProductTable() { productname ="something"} // insert record ( dbcontext.ProductTable.insertOnSubmit()) // dbcontext.submitChanges(); } } So now I am trying to load an XML file what has tons of records. First I validate the records one at a time. I then want to insert them into the database but instead of doing submitChanges() after each record I want to do a mass submit at the end. So I have something like this public class Repository { private LinqtoSqlContext dbcontext = new LinqtoSqlContext(); public void Update() { // find record // update record } public void Insert() { // make a database table object ( ie ProductTable t = new ProductTable() { productname ="something"} // insert record ( dbcontext.ProductTable.insertOnSubmit()) } public void SaveToDb() { dbcontext.submitChanges(); } } Then in my service layer I would do like for(int i = 0; i < 100; i++) { validate(); if(valid == true) { update(); insert() } } SaveToDb(); So pretend my for loop is has a count for all the record found in the xml file. I first validate it. If valid then I have to update a table before I insert the record. I then insert the record. After that I want to save everything in one go. I am not sure if I can do a mass save when updating of if that has to be after every time or what. But I thought it would work for sure for the insert one. Nothing seems to crash and I am not sure how to check if the records are being added to the dbcontext.

  • Using the public ssh key from local machine to access two remote users [closed]

    - by Nick
    I have an new Ubuntu (Hardy 8.04) server; it has two users, Alice and Bob. Alice is listed in sudoers. I appended my public ssh key (my local machine's public key local/Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) to authorized_keys in remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys, changed the permissions on Alice/.ssh/ to 700 and Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to 600, and both the file and folder are owned my Alice. Then added I Alice to sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice). This works and I can login into Alice: ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. Last login: Mon Mar 15 09:51:01 2010 from 123.456.789.00 I then copied the authorized_keys file remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to remote_server/home/Bob/.shh/authorized_keys and changed the permissions and ownership and added Bob to AllowUsers in sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice Bob). Now when I try to login to Bob it will not authenticate the same public key. ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/identity debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_dsa debug1: No more authentication methods to try. Permission denied (publickey). Am I missing something fundamental about the way ssh works?

  • Multiple overlay items in android

    - by Bostjan
    I seem to be having a problem with using ItemizedOverlay and OveralyItems in it. I can get the first overlayItem to appear on the map but not any items after that. Code sample is on: http://www.anddev.org/multiple_overlay_items-t12171.html Quick overview here: public class Markers extends ItemizedOverlay { private Context ctx; private ArrayList<OverlayItem> mOverlays = new ArrayList<OverlayItem>(); public Markers(Drawable defaultMarker, Context cont) { super(boundCenterBottom(defaultMarker)); this.ctx = cont; // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub } @Override protected OverlayItem createItem(int i) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return mOverlays.get(i); } @Override public boolean onTap(GeoPoint p, MapView mapView) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return super.onTap(p, mapView); } @Override protected boolean onTap(int index) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Toast.makeText(this.ctx, mOverlays.get(index).getTitle().toString()+", Latitude: "+mOverlays.get(index).getPoint().getLatitudeE6(), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); return super.onTap(index); } @Override public int size() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return mOverlays.size(); } public void addOverlay(OverlayItem item) { mOverlays.add(item); setLastFocusedIndex(-1); populate(); } public void clear() { mOverlays.clear(); setLastFocusedIndex(-1); populate(); }} Markers usersMarker = new Markers(user,overview.this); GeoPoint p = new GeoPoint((int) (lat * 1E6),(int) (lon * 1E6)); OverlayItem item = new OverlayItem(p,userData[0],userData[3]); item.setMarker(this.user); usersMarker.addOverlay(item); The lines after the class are just samples of how it's used the first marker shows up on the map but if I add any more they don't show up? Is there a problem with the populate() method? I tried calling it manually after adding all markers but it still didn't help. Please, if you have any idea what could be wrong, say so.

  • Postback problem when using URL Rewrite and 404.aspx

    - by salle55
    I'm using URL rewrite on my site to get URLs like: http://mysite.com/users/john instead of http://mysite.com/index.aspx?user=john To achive this extensionless rewrite with IIS6 and no access to the hosting-server I use the "404-approach". When a request that the server can't find, the mapped 404-page is executed, since this is a aspx-page the rewrite can be performed (I can setup the 404-mapping using the controlpanel on the hosting-service). This is the code in Global.asax: protected void Application_BeginRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { string url = HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.AbsolutePath; if (url.Contains("404.aspx")) { string[] urlInfo404 = Request.Url.Query.ToString().Split(';'); if (urlInfo404.Length > 1) { string requestURL = urlInfo404[1]; if (requestURL.Contains("/users/")) { HttpContext.Current.RewritePath("~/index.aspx?user=" + GetPageID(requestURL)); StoreRequestURL(requestURL); } else if (requestURL.Contains("/picture/")) { HttpContext.Current.RewritePath("~/showPicture.aspx?pictureID=" + GetPageID(requestURL)); StoreRequestURL(requestURL); } } } } private void StoreRequestURL(string url) { url = url.Replace("http://", ""); url = url.Substring(url.IndexOf("/")); HttpContext.Current.Items["VirtualUrl"] = url; } private string GetPageID(string requestURL) { int idx = requestURL.LastIndexOf("/"); string id = requestURL.Substring(idx + 1); id = id.Replace(".aspx", ""); //Only needed when testing without the 404-approach return id; } And in Page_Load on my masterpage I set the correct URL in the action-attribute on the form-tag. protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { string virtualURL = (string)HttpContext.Current.Items["VirtualUrl"]; if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(virtualURL)) { form1.Action = virtualURL; } } The rewrite works fine but when I perform a postback on the page the postback isn't executed, can this be solved somehow? The problem seems to be with the 404-approach because when I try without it (and loses the extensionless-feature) the postback works. That is when I request: http://mysite.com/users/john.aspx Can this be solved or is there any other solution that fulfil my requirements (IIS6, no serveraccess/ISAPI-filter and extensionless).

  • Milliseconds in DateTime.Now on .NET Compact Framework always zero? [SOLVED]

    - by Marcel
    Hi all, i want to have a time stamp for logs on a Windows Mobile project. The accuracy must be in the range a hundred milliseconds at least. However my call to DateTime.Now returns a DateTime object with the Millisecond property set to zero. Also the Ticks property is rounded accordingly. How to get better time accuracy? Remember, that my code runs on on the Compact Framework, version 3.5. I use a HTC touch Pro 2 device. Based on the answer from MusiGenesis i have created the following class which solved this problem: /// <summary> /// A more precisely implementation of some DateTime properties on mobile devices. /// </summary> /// <devdoc>Tested on a HTC Touch Pro2.</devdoc> public static class DateTimePrecisely { /// <summary> /// Remembers the start time when this model was created. /// </summary> private static DateTime _start = DateTime.Now; /// <summary> /// Remembers the system uptime ticks when this model was created. This /// serves as a more precise time provider as DateTime.Now can do. /// </summary> private static int _startTick = Environment.TickCount; /// <summary> /// Gets a DateTime object that is set exactly to the current date and time on this computer, expressed as the local time. /// </summary> /// <returns></returns> public static DateTime Now { get { return _start.AddMilliseconds(Environment.TickCount - _startTick); } } }

  • Delphi: RTTI and TObjectList<TObject>

    - by conciliator
    Based on one answer to an earlier post, I'm investigating the possibility of the following design TChildClass = class(TObject) private FField1: string; FField2: string; end; TMyClass = class(TObject) private FField1: TChildClass; FField2: TObjectList<TChildClass>; end; Now, in the real world, TMyClass will have 10 different lists like this, so I would like to be able to address these lists using RTTI. However, I'm not interested in the other fields of this class, so I need to check if a certain field is some sort of TObjectList. This is what I've got so far: procedure InitializeClass(RContext: TRttiContext; AObject: TObject); var ROwnerType: TRttiType; RObjListType: TRttiType; RField: TRttiField; SchInf: TSchemaInfoDetail; begin ROwnerType := RContext.GetType(AObject.ClassInfo); RObjListType := RContext.GetType(TObjectList<TObject>); for RField in ROwnerType.GetFields do begin // How do I check if the type of TMyClass.FField2 (which is TObjectList<TChildClass>) is some sort of TObjectList? end; Clearly, RField.FieldType <> RObjListType.FieldType. However, they do have some relation, don't they? It seems horrible (and wrong!) to make a very elaborate check for common functionality in order to make it highly probable that RField.FieldType is in fact a TObjectList. To be honest, I am quite uncomfortable with generics, so the question might be very naïve. However, I'm more than happy to learn. Is the above solution possible to implement? TIA!

  • onPause/onResume activity issues

    - by Josh
    I have a small test application I am working on which has a timer that updates a textview to countdown from 100 to 0. That works fine, but now I am trying to pause the application if the user presses the back button on the phone and then restart the timer from where they left off when they reopen the app. Here is the code I am using: @Override public void onPause() { if(this._timer_time_remaining > 0) { this.timer.cancel(); } super.onPause(); Log.v("Pausing", String.format("Pausing with %d", this._timer_time_remaining)); } @Override public void onResume() { super.onResume(); Log.v("Resuming", String.format("Resuming with %d", this._timer_time_remaining)); if(this._timer_time_remaining > 0) { setContentView(R.layout.in_game); start_timer(this._timer_time_remaining); } } The start_timer() method creates a CountDownTimer which updates the textview in the onTick method and updates the this._timer_time_remaining int variable. CountDownTimer and _timer_time_remaining are both declared at the class level like this: private CountDownTimer timer; private int _timer_time_remaining; From the Log.v() prints I see that the _timer_time_remaining variable has the correct number of seconds stored when onPause is called, but it is set back to 0 when onResume starts. Why does the variable get reset? I thought that the application would continue to run in the background with the same values. Am I missing something? This is all declared in a class that extends Activity. Thanks in advance!

  • Find, Find Next?

    - by Tanner
    Hello everyone, I am trying to make a find, find next function for my program, which I did manage to do with this code: int findPos = 0; private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { string s = textBox1.Text; richTextBox1.Focus(); findPos = richTextBox1.Find(s, findPos, RichTextBoxFinds.None); richTextBox1.Select(findPos, s.Length); findPos += textBox1.Text.Length; //i = richTextBox1.Find(s, i + s.Length, RichTextBoxFinds.None); } catch { MessageBox.Show("No Occurences Found"); findPos = 0; } } And it works great in form1 but if I use this code and try to call it from form2 It doesn't do anything: //Form1 public void FindNext() { try { this.Focus(); Form2 frm2 = new Form2(); string s = frm2.textBox1.Text; richTextBox1.Focus(); findPos = richTextBox1.Find(s, findPos, RichTextBoxFinds.None); richTextBox1.Select(findPos + 1, s.Length); findPos += textBox1.Text.Length; } catch { MessageBox.Show("No Occurences Found"); findPos = 0; } } //Form2 private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Form1 frm1 = new Form1(); frm1.FindNext(); } Does any one know why this is? Thanks,Tanner.

  • .NET remoting exception: Permission denied: cannot call non-public or static methods remotely.

    - by Vilx-
    I'm writing a program which will allow to load a specific managed .DLL file and play with it. Since I want the ability to unload the .DLL file, I'm creating two AppDomains - one for the app itself, the other for the currently loaded .DLL. Since most of the objects in the loaded .DLL do not serialize well, I'm creating a MarshalByRefObject wrapper class which will keep the object itself in its own AppDomain, and expose some reflection functions to the main application AppDomain. However when I try to invoke a method on the remote object I get stuck with an exception: Permission denied: cannot call non-public or static methods remotely. This is very strange, because I'm not using any non-public or static methods at all. In essence, what I have is: class RemoteObjectWrapper: MarshalByRefObject { private Type SourceType; private object Source; public RemoteObjectWrapper(object source) { if (source == null) throw new ArgumentNullException("source"); this.Source = source; this.SourceType = source.GetType(); } public T WrapValue<T>(object value) { if ( value == null ) return default(T); var TType = typeof(T); if (TType == typeof(RemoteObjectWrapper)) value = new RemoteObjectWrapper(value); return (T)value; } public T InvokeMethod<T>(string methodName, params object[] args) { return WrapValue<T>(SourceType.InvokeMember(methodName, System.Reflection.BindingFlags.FlattenHierarchy | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Instance | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Public, null, this.Source, args)); } } And I get the exception when I try to do: var c = SomeInstanceOfRemoteObjectWrapper.InvokeMethod<RemoteObjectWrapper>("somePublicMethod", "some string parameter"); What's going on here? As far as I can understand, the InvokeMethod method doesn't even get executed, the exception is thrown when I try to run it. Added: To clarify - SomeInstanceOfRemoteObjectWrapper is constructed in the .DLL's AppDomain and then returned to my main AppDomain, The InvokeMethod<T>() is called from my main AppDomain (and I expect it to execute in the .DLL's AppDomain).

I set up the request to go to a mock server which sleeps for 30 seconds. When I call BeginGetResponse, the application just waits at that line of code for the response. I want it to carry on with the app, and then just run the callback whenever it finishes. This code is run from a web page, and my callback just logs the response and sends an email. I don't want to use to have to wait for the response.

  • How to add Custom View +Relative Layout into ViewGroup

    - by TimothyMiller
    Hi I am creating a View where you can draw on the screen, using a view, where I would like to have a button/titlebar drawn at the top of the screen. Here is my current code public class FingerPaint extends Activity implements ColorPickerDialog.OnColorChangedListener { private Paint mPaint; private MyView mView; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); LinearLayout main = new LinearLayout(this); mView = new MyView(this); main.addView(this.getLayoutInflater().inflate( R.layout.topbar, null )); main.addView(mView); main.bringChildToFront(mView); setContentView(main); // mView.addView(this.getLayoutInflater().inflate( R.layout.topbar, null )); mPaint = new Paint(); mPaint.setAntiAlias(true); mPaint.setDither(true); mPaint.setColor(0xFFFF0000); mPaint.setStyle(Paint.Style.STROKE); mPaint.setStrokeJoin(Paint.Join.ROUND); mPaint.setStrokeCap(Paint.Cap.ROUND); mPaint.setStrokeWidth(12); mBitmaps=new Bitmap[100]; location=0; actualSize=0; mEmboss = new EmbossMaskFilter(new float[] { 1, 1, 1 }, 0.4f, 6, 3.5f); mBlur = new BlurMaskFilter(8, BlurMaskFilter.Blur.NORMAL); setContentView(main); } public class MyView extends View{ ......... } But when run, only the topbar.xml view is shown. I want the status bar from topbar and the rest down to be from the myView (for drawing on the screen like paint). Am I using ViewGroup properly?

  • Telerik RadAlert back button cache problem

    - by Michael VS
    Hi, I'm sure you have had this one before so if you could point me to something similar.... I have a server side creation of a RadAlert window using the usual Sys.Application.remove_load and add_load procedure however the alert keeps popping up as it seems to be caching when the user hits the back button after it has been activated. I have tried to put a onclick event on a button to clear the function using remove_load before it moves to the next page however it still doesn't seem to clear it. Its used in validation so if a user inputs failed validation it pops up. If they then go and enter correct validation it then moves onto the next page. If they then use back button this is where it pops up again. Any ideas? Server side: private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { btnSearch.Attributes.Add("onclick", "Sys.Application.remove_load(f);"); } } private void btnSearch_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { string radalertscript = "(function(){var f = function(){radalert('Welcome to RadWindow Prometheus!', 330, 210); Sys.Application.remove_load(f);};Sys.Application.add_load(f);})()"; RadAjaxManager1.ResponseScripts.Add(radalertscript); } Ive also tried using RadAjaxManager1.ResponseScripts.Clear(); before it moves on to the next page on the postback event
