  • Images not displaying if using file:///c:/

    I am using jQuery and would like to display the images from my PC, rather than hosting them. I have the following: /* works fine: */ .ui-widget-header .ui-icon { background-image: url(images/ui-icons_2e83ff_256x240.png); } /* does not work: */ .ui-widget-header .ui-icon { background-image: url(file:///C:/ui-icons_2e83ff_256x240.png); } When I put file:///C:/ui-icons_2e83ff_256x240.png in a browser, it displays the actual image beautifully. Both locations are valid image locations. Could this not working be to do with the image being a sprite? Does anyone have any ideas on this one? Many thanks.

    I have div that I need to be present on every page, yet at a different length depending on the exact page. So far, I have this: <div class="above <?php if (is_page(12)) echo 'short'; ?>"> //content </div><!-- end above --> How do I go about adding something to the avail of <?php if (is_page(24, 26, 28)) echo 'med'; ?> (on page 12 I need the "short" length, and on pages 24, 26, 28 I need the "med" length of the div) Any help is appreciated. I'm just now diving into php and while I do love the options it makes available, I'm not sure yet how to put it all together.

    Is there any way to make only a non-transparent portion of an image to trigger mouse-over event? If the mouse travels to the transparent area, the mouse-out should be triggered and the script should listen for any mouse-over event on a layer underneath the image. Is it possible?     I want to change the link-style for some of my links, like this: a:hover { /* These links will be blue when hovered-over */ background-color: #3366FF; } However, I only want this to take effect in my Navigation Bar, and not for regular links. I have tried variations on this: #navbar a:hover { /* These links will be blue when hovered-over */ background-color: #3366FF; } With the intended meaning "this only applies to links with <div id="navbar">" But it didn't work. How can I set the style for only certain links, defined by the class or id of their container?

  • <a> with an inner <span> not triggering :active state in IE

    I want to style the :active state of a button that is represented by an . The tag has an inner (beacuse I want to add an icon to this button). I notice the :active state is triggered properly in everything but Internet Explorer. In IE, it appears that the area around the (the 's padding) triggers that :active state, but when clicking directly on the text within the , the :active state is not triggered. Is there a way to fix this without resorting to Javascript?

  • Firefox can not layout nested tables properly?

    I want to implement a collapsible menu. I plan to use table component to simulate a menu, and nest a sub table into a table cell to simulate a sub menu. Other browsers will calculate the offset base on the level 2 menu, that works as expected. Is it a bug in Firefox? If so how can I work around it? I want my code to have the same behavior in all major browsers.

  • In Jeditable, how do I make it so that when I click the div to edit, the text box content has initial value that is processed?

    When the user clicks on the div, jeditable will make a text box. However, I want the initial text to be done with function stripTags(), instead of what's on the page. The reason is that I'm using some URL techniques to turn plain text links into URLs.   • DIV inside TD to make it appear correctly

    Hi, I have a <table> generated from code-behind and now facing a problem. In one of the TD i need to have a DIV that is setup with JQuery so that when i click a link the DIV slideToggles. Now i need the TD belonging to that TR not to expand the TR. To solve this i have used an old trick that is to place the JQuery DIV inside another surrounding DIV with height 1px and make the TR not expanding with the heigth of the DIV that slides out. In IE the sliding DIV is partially under the table and in Firefox the DIV appears over the table but it's trasparent, the text from the data in the table shows thru. I have tried to alter the Z-index in various ways but it's no good. Anyone that has an idea or alternatively solution that has worked for them.     I am trying to write a loop that will cycle through colors and condense the amount of code in my scss file. Here is a simple example of what I have: $color1: blue; $color2: red; $color3: white; $color4: black; .color1-bg { background-color: $color1; } .color2-bg { background-color: $color2; } .color1-border { border-color: $color1; } .color2-border { border-color: $color2; } And so on. I am looking for a way to make the equivalent of a foreach loop, and cycle through an 'array' of colours by index. Something like this: @each $color in $color1, $color2, $color3, $color4 { .{$color}-bg { background-color: $color; .{$color}-border { border-color: $color; } I know the syntax is wrong, but that is my thinking process.   • IE 6 dropdown selection area too narrow

    Hi, I have a dropdown menu with the width set to 142px however the selection area when you drop down the menu needs to be larger as it has text that exceeds this width. Firefox (and most modern browsers) is clever and extends the selection area to fit in this text. However IE 6 and unchecked newer versions of IE do not show this text and keep the selection area the same width as the dropdown unclicked. The problem lies here, how can I get IE to extend the selection area where you click the selection you want without increasing the width of the dropdown area with out the dropdown selection showing. When i hover over the main hover links (blue ones) quickly eg going horizontally quickly hovering each top menu, the some submenus don't close.
