Internet Explore works very slowly executing JS code

There is a page that uses PHP to fetch search results from Google Search API and then it puts the results on the page some funny way in a circle. Code and may look crappy but seems that it works more or less fine in Firefox. When you enter a search query and click submit button or Next/Previous links, it fills the wheel with results. The problem is its work in IE. It works there very slowly and then it doesn't clear the wheel before filling in new data, but puts it over that. My friend asked me to help him with this code. Please give me a piece of advice how I can fix it. Thanks so much!

RemoteWebDriver doesn't work with xpath

I'm trying to use RemoteWebDriver with xpath locators on google.com, this is the log from node running firefox. It receives all those commands but doesn't executes them. IE 6 dropdown selection area too narrow

Hi, I have a dropdown menu with the width set to 142px however the selection area when you drop down the menu needs to be larger as it has text that exceeds this width. Firefox (and most modern browsers) is clever and extends the selection area to fit in this text. However IE 6 and unchecked newer versions of IE do not show this text and keep the selection area the same width as the dropdown unclicked. The problem lies here, how can I get IE to extend the selection area where you click the selection you want without increasing the width of the dropdown area with out the dropdown selection showing. Is there a browser independet bookmarktool supporting tags, date and free comments?

I am looking for a tool, which helps me to organize my personal bookmarks. I want to be able to assign tags and free comments to a bookmark. I want to search my bookmarks by tags date of bookmarking pattern in title pattern in url It would be nice to be web based to enable sharing my bookmarks between different machines. But for it would be OK, if it works on a single machine as long as it has some import/export way to transfer the links to a new machine replacing the old. As browsers I'm using Firefox and ChromePlus. It would be nice, if the solution works with both browsers. With free comments, I mean additional remarks stored for a bookmark, which is not essential for searching.

Embedded Google Earth Plug-Ins no longer working

I really hope someone can help me. I just noticed that none of my website's Google Earth embedded plug-in's work anymore (in Safari, Chrome or Firefox) All you can see now is blank space and small text that says "Information is temporarily unavailable." Highlighting a radio button with CSS

I have been trying to highlight a radio button with CSS but have been unsuccessful to get styling to work in FireFox. I see some methods of using images to render highlighting. Is there a preferred way to handle radio button highlighting across multiple browsers? Example <input type="text" style="border-color:#FF0000"> <input type="radio" style="border-color:#FF0000"> The text box will have a border that is red but the radio button will not take the border color?

Getting the height of a div after setting it to auto in IE

Hi, I'm writing some JavaScript that changes the size of some content. To do this I need to know the size of a div within my content. If I have the following html: <div id="wrapper"> ... other stuff ... <div id="inner" style="height:400px">Some text in here</div> ... other stuff ... </div> And the following JavaScript: $('#inner').height('auto'); var height = $("#wrapper").height(); In FireFox and Chrome the height variable increases as the inner div expands to fit all the text. In IE this stays the same. I guess it doesn't redraw the div straight away. Anybody know how to get the new correct height in IE? Cheers

I am returning json from the controller and in FireFox it ask me to download the files. Not sure what is going on here. why i'm permanently logged off my be

Hello i have a problem with BE in my system. I'm permanently and automaticly logged out it after some time. 10-15 seconds, sometimes faster, sometimes slower. It's not connected with beeing idle cause I can be logged off even when I'm checking page tree or saving records I've set lock ip on 1 but it didn't help. The problem is most common under Firefox or Chome, what is strange under internet explorer i don't see it as often Other strange thing is that I see it on my live version but when I'm working on my local copy it doen not occure TYPO3 version 4.6.4

z-index not working in IE

Hi friends, I have a button, while clicking the button i just produce a div containing some checkbox. If the user select the required checkbox, it will produce a iframe according to the value of the checkbox and the div will disappear. Its placed immediately below the button. Up to this its working fine. If the user again click the button, the droping div is comes behind the frame. Please help me to make it visible above the frame. I have used z-index, its working in firefox - but i cant made it in IE.. Please help me regarding this. Thankspraveen j

.focus() doesn't work on an input while orher attributes works

I have a classic table / thead / tbody structure, which I add a line at the end of the tbody. The line contains only an input element. The code works in Firefox 3.6 but not in Chrome v5 or IE8. I'm using jQuery 1.4.1. Does not work: $("#" + AJAX_ID).parent().find('tr:last > td:nth-child(2) > input').focus(); Does work: $("#" + AJAX_ID).parent().find('tr:last > td:nth-child(2) > input').css('background-color', 'red'); even setting an ID on the input, and using document.getElementBuId('id').focus() doesn't work. Why does document.QuerySelectorAll return a StaticNodeList rather than a real Array?

It bugs me that I can't just do document.QuerySelectorAll(...).map(...) even in Firefox 3.6, and I still can't find an answer, so I thought I'd cross-post on SO the question from this blog: http://blowery.org/2008/08/29/yay-for-queryselectorall-boo-for-staticnodelist/ Does anyone know of a technical reason why you don't get an Array? Or why an SNL doesn't inherit from an Array in such a way that you could use map, concat, etc? (BTW if it's just one function you want, you can do something like NodeList.prototype.map = Array.prototype.map;...but again, why is this functionality (intentionally?) blocked in the first place?)

Javascript: parseInt() with trailing characters

parseInt("7em", 10); returns 7 in all browsers I tested [*]. But can I rely on this? The reason I ask is, that I want to perform some calculations based on em, like /* elem1.style.top uses em units */ elem2.style.top = parseInt(elem1.style.top, 10) + 1 + "em"; I could do this with regular expressions, but parseInt is easier to use, and probably a bit faster. Or is there another solution (maybe using jQuery)? [*] Tested so far on: IE 6, IE 8, Safari 4, Firefox 3.6, Opera 10.5

innerHTML parse for Google Chrome?

Hey all. I am adding text to a textArea via Javascript in Chrome (doing it a totally different way in Firefox/IE as Chrome does not support contentWindows). Here is my code: document.getElementById("vB_Editor_001_textarea").value += '<font color="white"><b>' + numberLabel + ':</b> ' + armory + '</font><br/>'; This HTML is getting put directly into the textArea without being parsed. How can I make it parse into regular text with the HTML markup when it hits the textArea? Thanks!

Hi all, I was using this JQuery in this download link, and included it in the head tag of a HTML web page: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> In a php web page, I got these few lines of codes: $.ajax({ url: 'http://mywebsite.com/site1/toavail/, type: "post", success: function(data) { // some more code here } }); When I tested the HTML page in IE 6, and 7, I saw the same warning message: "permission denied" When I tested it in Firefox 3, nothing was returned from the server web page. Later, I changed the JQuery source link to be: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.js then I refreshed the web page, and I could saw the returned value.

Issue with css float -- Hindering IE6 from putting div in next line

Hi, I've got an issue with floating divs in IE6. There's one navigation div on the left and one content div for the rest of the page. They've got the following css values: #navigation { float: left; width: 185px; padding-left: 5px; overflow: auto; height: 100%; } #content { overflow: auto; height: 100%; } In Firefox, IE8, Chrome and Opera, I get scrollbars for the content div when I resize the page to a size where both divs can't fit in as a whole. The navigation div stays in its place. And that is the desired behaviour. But in IE6, there are no scrollbars for the content div. Instead, when the page is getting too small, IE6 simply puts the content div under the navigation div. Do you know any way to hinder IE6 from this behaviour?

I am doing my coding in Windows XP/IIS 5.1. I have PHP setup correctly because i have no problem running .php file. The problem seem to me that IIS can't render php code embedded inside html. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or should i switch to Apache?
