  • using generic and for each loop in jsp

    I am developing a web application. I am using Eclipse as IDE. I was using generic and for each loop, both being feature of java 1.5, and it compiled quite fine when used in backend means in simple java classes. But when I'm using these on jsp, jsp is failing to compile with error showing generic and for each as culprit. Can you shed some light on this? Maybe I am at fault with Eclipse settings?

    I have a C# function that does some processing and needs to return figures about what it has processed, success, failure, etc. Can anyone tell me if there are any standard framework classes that will handle this (for example, number of records processed, number successful, failed, etc) ? Alternatively, can anyone say how they usually handle this? Is the best way to create a class, or to use out parameters?

    Suppose I have DLLA which is a standalone library that contains classes I use I have DLLB that references DLLA I now have DLLC that references DLLB - Why is it that DLLC also needs a reference to DLLA? Can I not have VS2005 build a dll which contains all the assemblies it needs embedded inside it?

Suppose we are modeling a blog application and we have this classes: Post (Entity) Comment (Value object) Tag (Value object) PostsRespository (Respository) I Know that when I save a new post, its tags are saving with it in the same table. But how could I load all tags of all posts. Has PostsRespository got a method to load all tags? I usually do it, but I want to know others opinions

  • IE issues with drag/drop (script.aculo.us)

    I have a page with a left and a right div. Inside each of these there are several divs. I can drag&drop them inside the left/right divs or move from one to the other So the page is something like ........ ........ ........ ........ I am using scriptaculous and prototype for the drag&drop If I drag in Firefox things work fine. In IE6-IE8 however I have 2 problems: 1) When I drag from left to right or the other way around, the inner divs do not keep their relative distances: the div I moved now overlaps with the div on the opposite side (if I do a reload of the page the divs are set correctly again) 2) If I shrink the window width below a certain width the divs either on the left or the right droppable disappear. Any ideas? deb

    I have a complex XSD schema and hundreds of XML files conforming to the schema. How do I automate the creation of related SQL Server tables to store the XML data? I've considered creating C# classes from the XSD schema using the xsd.exe tool and letting something like Subsonic figure out how to make a shiny database out of it, but not sure if it's the best way to approach it. Has anyone managed to elegantly import XSD files into SQL Server?

    Hello, I'm using seam to develop a simple web app. Using a4j commandButton in many places, with the property reRender="componentName" componentName is in most places a a4j outputPanel Which always worked, until I used a template. with include of two different views. reRender applied to the whole view does work, but reRender applied to an inner component does not. Same issue with page rules, all action I had defined are not functioning any more.   • When would I want to model a class with a private ctor?

    Hi, I've seen plenty of classes in .NET which have private constructor (Stream is one of them I think). When would I want to model a class like this? I keep thinking that if my class has no internal state/fields, then I can make it have a private constructor. Am I on the right track with this idea? I can understand the use of a factory (I've run into the tipping point a few times), but not with a private constructor class. Thanks

    I have a query returning the counts of some data, but I do NOT want data that has a null value in it... As an example, the code rolls stats from a clicking system into a table. SELECT sh.dropid, ... FROM subscriberhistory sh INNER JOIN subscriberhistory sh2 on sh.subid = sh2.subid WHERE sh.dropid IS NOT NULL AND sh.dropid != "" ... GROUP BY sh.dropid An example of the record set returned would look like this... 400 2 3 4 5 6 401 2 3 6 5 4 NULL 2 3 4 5 1 There are some other where clauses, and a few more selects (as I said, using the count aggregate) that are also within the query. There is also an order by statement. Again, the goal is to keep the NULL data out of the preceding record set. Could someone explain to me why this behavior is occurring and what to do to solve it.

    I have a class, containing a list property, where the list contains objects that has an enum property. When I serialize this, it looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ibm850"?> <test> <events> <test-event type="changing" /> <test-event type="changed" /> </events> </test> Is it possible, through attributes, or similar, to get the Xml to look like this? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ibm850"?> <test> <events> <changing /> <changed /> </events> </test> Basically, use the property value of the enum as a way to determine the tag-name? Is using a class hierarchy (ie. creating subclasses instead of using the property value) the only way? Edit: After testing, it seems even a class-hierarchy won't actually work. If there is a way to structure the classes to get the output I want, even with sub-classes, that is also an acceptable answer.     Hello, I am looking at ASP.NET membership controls (2008) and have been dropping them onto web pages to see how it all works. In some ASP.NET starter kit web site examples that I downloaded, I notice that between the asp:control tags I can see all the tags of the constituent parts like the textboxes, labels and buttons etc. However with the membership control that I am using in 2008 I do not see these other tags. Is this because the starter kit examples are from an older version or is it possible to expose these inner tags? It seems that this would make it possible to customize the controls.
