• Filtering rows withing Admin using a Queryset - Django

  Hi folks, I'm trying to find a way to filter down rows of objects within Django Admin, using a queryset. e.g. Person.objects.filter(Q(name='John')|Q(surname='Doe')) I'm finding quite complicated to figure out. Any ideas?

• css nth-child(2n+1) repaint css after filtering out list items

  I have a list of 20+ items. The background-color changes using the :nth-child(2n+1) selector. (ie. even item black, odd item white). When I click a button to filter out specific items using the jQuery Isotope plugin it adds a .isotope-hidden class to the items I want to filter out, which changes the position of the list item to 0,0 and opacity to 0. When this happens the remaining items are left with the original black/white background-colors, which are now no longer in order. Does anyone know a way to "repaint' the css using the :nth-child(2n+1) selector on the items that do not contain the .isotope-hidden class. I tried #element tr:not(.isotope-hidden):nth-child(2n+1) with no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  Hi people, I am thinking to create a filter object which filters and delete everything like html tags from a context. But I want it to be independent which means the design pattern I can apply will help me to add more filters in the future without effecting the current codes. I thought Abstract Factory but it seems it ain't gonna work out the way I want. So maybe builder but it looks same. I don't know I am kinda confused, some one please recommend me a design pattern which can solve my problem but before that let me elaborate the problem a little bit. Lets say I have a class which has Description field or property what ever. And I need filters which remove the things I want from this Description property. So whenever I apply the filter I can add more filter in underlying tier. So instead of re-touching the Description field, I can easily add more filters and all the filters will run for Description field and delete whatever they are supposed to delete from the Description context. I hope I could describe my problem. I think some of you ran into the same situation before. Thanks in advance...

• Filtering a dropdown in Angular IE11 issue

  I have a requirement for a select html element that can be duplicated multiple times on a page. The options for these select elements all come from a master list. All of the select elements can only show all of the items in the master list that have not been selected in any of the other select elements unless they just were duplicated. So I wrote a custom filter to do this in Angular and it seems to work just fine provided you are not using IE11. In IE when you select a new item from a duplicated select element, it seems to select the option after the one you selected even though the model still has the correct one set. I realize this sounds convoluted, so I created a jFiddle example. Using IE 11 try these steps: Select Bender Click the duplicate link Select Fry Notice that the one that is selected is Leela but the model still has Fry (id:2) as the one selected Now if you do the same thing in Chrome everything works as expected. Can anyone tell me how I might get around this or what I might be doing wrong? • Filtering log4net on method name - can't quite get it

  I'm using log4net to log my web app's progress, using Log4PostSharp to AOP-injectify all methods. This has the desired effect of logging (almost) everything and is fine. I now have a requirement to log JUST Page_Load methods to a file / console. I can obviously hamstring the log4postsharp class to do that, but then I'd be losing all the other logging. I've been looking at filters in log4net, starting with the StringMatch filter, but that only looks at the message being logged, and I'm after the method name. This put me onto the PropertyFilter, but still with no joy. My log4net.config snippet is thus: <appender name="RollingLogFileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender"> <filter type="log4net.Filter.PropertyFilter"> <key value="LocationInfo.MethodName"/> <stringToMatch value="Page_Load"/> </filter> <file value="d:\\xxxx\\yyyyy\\zzzzLog"/> As you can see, I'm trying to key into the MethodName of the logging event via LocationInfo, but I'm still getting everything logged.   I created a native Android app that basically hosts a webView control. That webView is then used to load a page that calls window.openDatabase from JavaScript. I can successfully confirm that the API exists by verifying window.openDatabase. Calling this method returns a null when called in a hosted webView control. Calling the same method in the Android Browser returns an instance of the database. Does anyone know the permessions in the manifest or settings on the webView control that need to be set to access the database? Is this even possible in a native app.

• Providing or Filtering assemblies when registering areas for an ASP.NET MVC 2.0 application

  I have a large application that currently exists as a hybrid of WebForms and MVC 2.0. Startup of my application is dreadful, and the culprit is primarily because of the AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas call. More specifically, that it is using the System.Web. Compilation.BuildManager.GetReferencedAssemblies to enumerate all types in assemblies directly referenced by the application and test them to see if they derive from AreaRegistration. Unfortunately, I have a number of third-party assemblies that happen to be quite extensive, so this initial load can be pretty bad. I'd have much better results if I could tell it which assemblies to look for AreaRegistrations, or even register areas manually for the time being. I can gather up all the internals of AreaRegistration to create and invoke the registration, but I'm just curious if others have had and worked around this issue.

• Does oneway declaration in Android .aidl guarantee that method will be called in a separate thread?

  I am designing a framework for a client/server application for Android phones. I am fairly new to both Java and Android (but not new to programming in general, or threaded programming in particular). Sometimes my server and client will be in the same process, and sometimes they will be in different processes, depending on the exact use case. The client and server interfaces look something like the following: IServer.aidl: package com.my.application; interface IServer { /** * Register client callback object */ void registerCallback( in IClient callbackObject ); /** * Do something and report back */ void doSomething( in String what ); . . . } IClient.aidl: package com.my.application; oneway interface IClient { /** * Receive an answer */ void reportBack( in String answer ); . . . } Now here is where it gets interesting. I can foresee use cases where the client calls IServer.doSomething(), which in turn calls IClient.reportBack(), and on the basis of what is reported back, IClient.reportBack() needs to issue another call to IClient.doSomething(). The issue here is that IServer.doSomething() will not, in general, be reentrant. That's OK, as long as IClient.reportBack() is always invoked in a new thread. In that case, I can make sure that the implementation of IServer.doSomething() is always synchronized appropriately so that the call from the new thread blocks until the first call returns. If everything works the way I think it does, then by declaring the IClient interface as oneway, I guarantee this to be the case. At least, I can't think of any way that the call from IServer.doSomething() to IClient.reportBack() can return immediately (what oneway is supposed to ensure), yet IClient.reportBack still be able to reinvoke IServer.doSomething recursively in the same thread. Either a new thread in IServer must be started, or else the old IServer thread can be re-used for the inner call to IServer.doSomething(), but only after the outer call to IServer.doSomething() has returned. So my question is, does everything work the way I think it does? The Android documentation hardly mentions oneway interfaces.

  My table structure is as follows: Person 1-M PesonAddress Person 1-M PesonPhone Person 1-M PesonEmail Person 1-M Contract Contract M-M Program Contract M-1 Organization At the end of this query I need a populated object graph where each person has their: PesonAddress's PesonPhone's PesonEmail's PesonPhone's Contract's - and this has its respective Program's Now I had the following query and I thought that it was working great, but it has a couple of problems: from people in ctx.People.Include("PersonAddress") .Include("PersonLandline") .Include("PersonMobile") .Include("PersonEmail") .Include("Contract") .Include("Contract.Program") where people.Contract.Any( contract => (param.OrganizationId == contract.OrganizationId) && contract.Program.Any( contractProgram => (param.ProgramId == contractProgram.ProgramId))) select people; The problem is that it filters the person to the criteria but not the Contracts or the Contract's Programs. It brings back all Contracts that each person has not just the ones that have an OrganizationId of x and the same goes for each of those Contract's Programs respectively. What I want is only the people that have at least one contract with an OrgId of x with and where that contract has a Program with the Id of y... and for the object graph that is returned to have only the contracts that match and programs within that contract that match. I kinda understand why its not working, but I don't know how to change it so it is working... • Creating a specialised view filtering form in Rails

  G'day guys, I have a current set of data, and I generate multiple analyses of this data (each analysis into its own active record item called a pricing_interval) using a helper function at the moment. Currently to analyse the set of data, you need a start time(using datetime_select) an integer (using text_field) and a name (using text_field) I would like on submission of the form to be redirected to the index page of my pricing_interval, as the values will be re-generated. Manually generating a range proves that my helper methods work. How would I build a form that on submit would send parameters to a function in the form of (date,integer,name) so that it could immediately begin work whilst redirecting the user to server/pricing_intervals Anything at all would help, I've spent hours over the past few days trying to get the rails form syntax working properly to no avail, a really straightforward guide to what I would implement to get this working would be amazingly appreciated. I've looked through the form guides, as I'm not creating an object, but merely parsing params, there's got to be an easy way to do this, right?

I have tried writing db.articles.find( {'tags': 'geography'} ), but that doesn't appear to work. I've also thought about changing the search parameter to 'tags.geography', but am having a devil of a time figuring out what the search predicate would be.

• Android SDK and AVD manager will not run from Eclipse after upgrade to SDK 5 and ADT 0.9.6

  Using Windows 7, 64 bit system. Prior to upgrade I was able to run "Android SDK and AVD manager" from Eclipse via a tool bar icon and menu option, both of which still exist. However now nothing happens when I try to run the manager. As a result I can't start an emulator from within Eclipse. When I use Eclipse to run an Android app, the first emulator I installed is automatically started. Using Windows Explorer, I can still run the manager from the SDK directory in which the update was applied (the update didn't change the location of the SDK). If I run the manager and start multiple emulators and then Run an app from Eclipse, it sees the emulators and allows me to choose one as before. This is a satisfactory work-around, but it would be nice if the manager were fully integrated into Eclipse as it was before.
