• Do you, as a programmer, have lunch break(s)? [closed]

  There are companies that don't allow lunch break(s). In my country (Romania) there is a law that forces the companies to 1 hour of lunch break for the employees. As a programmer, I can't work continously for more than 4 hours and not have my coherence and my productivity go down. However I've seen many people in the US and not only US mention a 9-5 work schedule. That is 8h. Does it include a lunch break?

  Actually when I run a particular JSP page it run perfectly(with external style sheet) but when servlet return back the control through RequestDispatcher, the page is not displaying properly means it don't took the css file path. In my program the stylesheet is present inside css directory and the page is present inside another directory named JSP. The code which include the css in the program is- <link rel="stylesheet" href="../css/stylesheet.css" type="text/css"/>

  Hello , I have a php application that saves the pictures on the server and also stores the picture names in the database . The issue that I have is that the picture names include the path/folder where it was saved from (e.g 1220368812/chpk2198933_large-2.jpg) so I need a str_replace pattern to remove "1220368812/" and have the picture name correct stored in the db . Also I would appreciate if you will send me a good link that explains how exactly the str_replace patterns work or at least how the pattern that you use work .

  When creating a new Rails application, it is automatically supplied with several quite large js files. In the application layout, by default, all of them are loaded into the page: <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %> I was wondering, isn't loading all those javascripts can make the site possibly mush slower?   I try to move my old logfiles to a yyyy\MM\dd folder structure by Get-ChildItem . -Recurse -Include *.log | Move-Item -Dest {"D:\Archive\{0:yyyy\\MM\\dd}\{1}" -f $_.LastWriteTime, $_.Name} -Force but i get a path-not-found error. update I suspect the problem originates from the fact that the source path contains Program Files. sub question: Could the same be done without Get-ChildItem?

  Regarding the terminate handler, As i understand it, when something bad happens in code, for example when we dont catch an exception, terminate() is called, which in turn calls abort() set_terminate(my_function) allows us to get terminate() to call a user specified function my_terminate. my question is: where do these functions "live" they don't seem to be a part of the language, but work as if they are present in every single cpp file, without having to include any header file.

  I am using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder to stream live video to a video streaming server. The webcam is in our office pointed out the window. Thankfully, Flash Media Live Encoder has a checkbox to un-include audio. I am wondering how I can push a recorded message to the audio ( or music ).
