• Replacement background image not showing when using GreaseMonkey

  I'm trying to use GreaseMonkey to replace the background image of a DIV on bing.com. It's a pretty straightforward call to GM_addstyle: GM_addStyle(".sw_logo " +"{background:url('http://www.kpao.org/blog/kpao-bing-logo-inverse.png') " +"no-repeat 21px 7px transparent}"); However, the image doesn't show up. It's clearly visible in Firebug, and as I twiddle with the CSS in Firebug, I can get it to show up. But it doesn't stay. Any thoughts on why? Maybe it's a bug, but then maybe I'm missing something obvious. Thanks!

  Hello, I am using .NET 2.0 & C# to develop a WinForm Mdi application. It will have a Main Window and a lot of mdi windows. I am thinking I should use which design pattern to manage mdi windows. Because I want only one instance for each window, if window is existed, I will show it on top, & otherwise I will create and show it. Note: a mdi window is opened from Menus of Main Window or open from another mdi window. An example is very good. Update: Menu's status is depended on mdi window's status. Ex: If Window 'A' is openned - menu 'A' - disabled. When window 'A' is closed - I update menu 'A' status to Enabled. Thanks.

  I wrote a Windows Form Application in C# and it works well for my computer.   I have an ASP.NET web application that requires users to select their appropriate time zone so that it can correctly show local times for events. In creating a simple approach for selecting the time zone, I started by just using the values from TimeZoneInfo.GetSystemTimeZones(), and showing that list. The only problem with this is that since our application is primarily targeted at the United States, I'd like to show those entries first, basically starting with Eastern Time and working backwards (West) until I reach Atlantic time. What's a good approach to do this in code?

• How to simulate postback in nested usercontrols?

  Hi all, I'm doing an asp.net application with one page. In this page, I have one usercontrol defined. This usercontrol has a menu (three buttons) and 3 usercontrols defined too. Depending on the clicked button one of the three usercontrols turn to visible true or false. In these three usercontrols I have a button and a message, and I want to show the message "It's NOT postback" when the button of the menu is clicked, and when the button of the usercontrol is clicked the message will be "YES, it's postback!!!". The question is that using property "IsPostBack" of the usercontrol or the page the message will never be "It's NOT postback" because of the clicked button of the menu to show the nested usercontrol. This is the structure of the page: page parent usercontrol menu nested usercontrol 1 message button nested usercontrol 2 nested usercontrol 3 I know it can be done using ViewState but, there is a way to simulate IsPostBack property or know when is the true usercontrol postback? • Auto showing tips and closing popup when lost focus

  I have two elements: a TextBox, and a Popup, where the popup contains a tree view to show some tips according to text of TextBox. When the textBox got the KeyDown Event, the KeyDown directly executes pup.IsOpen=true to show the popup tips. However, I also want to show the popup tips when the mouse on clicking the TextBox, and auto closing the popups when the mouse click on any place (besides the TextBox and the TreeView in Popup). I have tried some cases but do not works fine. Case1: Add pup.IsOpen=true; in TextBox.PreviewMouseUp, the popup will stay opening, even if I click any other place in the window. Case2: Add pup.IsOpen=true in TextBox.PreviewMouseDown, the popup tips only shows on keep clicking the Mouse. Case3: Using CheckBox with Binding IsChecked to Popup.IsOpen works fine. but the tips is listed according to the content of the TextBox, therefore the checkbox is not editable for user... • Image rendering on browser or temporary images?

  I'm trying to make a statistics page where it will show several data and charts. The charts need to be pictures so that the user can save it/drag-and-drop to his/her personal reports. I'm using Gruff Graphs for Ruby to produce the charts but I don't know the best way to display the results safe and protected. Some of my ideas/tries are: save the chart to a file (jpg, png)? problem: data is available to anyone (don't have access to cron, to delete data from time to time) render in the browser (has to work on IE)? Use javascript (Raphaël—JavaScript Library) or Google API and output a PDF report (need plugin or gem, right)? use send_data? i've tried to output other way than inline, because I needs to show other data, is it possible?   Hi, I have a UITableView with a list of items such as item1, item2, item3, item4 and so on. If I select on item1, it will go to the detail view of item1 (which is controlled by DetailsViewController). What I am trying to do is to add a button called "Next" on DetailsView. When clicked, the DetailsView will refresh and show item2. When clicked again, it will show item3 and so on. I have been searching high and low for that to implement. But to no avail.   I'm trying to expand my sons interest from Warcraft 3 programming into C++ to broaden his horizons to a degree. We are planning on porting a little game that he wrote. The context goes something like this. There are Ships and Missiles, for which Ships will use Missiles and interact with them A Container exists which will hold 'a list' of ships. A Container exists which will hold 'a list' of planets. One can apply a function over all elements in the Container (for_each) Ships and Missles can be created/destroyed at any time New objects automatically insert themselves into the proper container. One must have a ship, in order to access the list of ships. One must have a missile in order to be able to access the list of missiles. That feels awkward. • Android - When to use Service

  This question is related to my previous question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2786720/android-service-ping-url So I have an Android app that on the click of a button, opens up a web page. Now, in the background I want to call another http url for gathering stats. My question is does this have to be a service? I know a service is for background tasks that run for an indefinite period of time, while the user is busy doing something else. In my case, all I really need is to get the URL in the background, not show it to the user, instead show the web page to the user. Can I just not write code to get contents of the http url and fire up the activity that displays the web page? Coz all I want is to get the url in the background and be done with it. Or does this have to be done using the Service class? I am confused. Thanks Chris

• Opencv: Converting hue image to RGB image

  I am trying to show the hue component of the image from my webcam. I have split apart the image into the hue component but I can't figure out how to show the hue component as the pure colors. For example if one pixel of the image was B=189 G=60 R=60 then in HSV, H=0. • GKPeerStateAvailable for non existing peers?

  Hi, used this website for the long time to find answers, now need to ask on myself! :) I have implemented multi player for my game using GKSession and client/server approach, not using peer picker (up to 4 player allowed). I have one big problem which I can't find solution for. If you disconnect/reconnect server peer quickly enough, client peer will "remember" that host and will show it in the list of all available peers permanently, only turning wifi/bluetooth off resets this. So if I do this 5 times in a row, my client will show 5 available hosts with the same name! Anyone had experience with this? Any idea of workarounds? I should note that requirements for my game is iPhone SDK 3.0 for Bluetooth and 3.1 for Wifi as GKSession supports both now.

• How to assume/steal another process's windows as my own?

  I'd like to show another app's windows under my app's taskbar button. It's a background app that reports another process's windows as my app's own. Is there any universal way to do this, e.g. each "new" window, alert glow, progressmeter, and other taskbar features, show under my own app's button? For example, Winfox runs under its own process and steals Firefox's windows. It also adds features, but that's irrelevant -- I just want to support another app's existing taskbar features under my own app's button -- multiple windows, progressmeter, alert flashing, error flashing, mini-icons, etc. Is there a near-universal way to steal an app, or is it largely app-specific? • Custom jQuery dropdown

  I am creating a custom simple dropdown using jQuery that hides/shows a element based on over state. The problem I have now is that when you go over the shown element it hides, you cant move your mouse in to the dropdown that was created. Any thoughts on how to fix that also, is there an easier way to do what I have?   In my VB.net apps i make use of Linq2SQL and Reportviewer with RDLC reports. With Visual Studio 2010 they upgraded this reportviewer component so you can use the newer RDL specification from 2008. Now I've a problem to show related objects. For example assume you provide an order to the datasource of the report and then you can show something like Fields!Customer.Value.Name where Customer is a related entity. I also got the error in my immediate window: *Warning: The Value expression for the textrun ‘Name_1.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ contains an error: The specified operation is not valid. • drupal's hook_preprocess_page not working as expected

  i am having an issue where hook_preprocess_page 's changes to &$variables is not being rendered, even though it is the last item under $theme_registry['page']['preprocess functions']. logging contents of $variables to a file show the contents changed, but contents appear unchanged on the site. flushed all cache on drupal, flushed all browser caches and still the same result. /** * Implementation of hook_preprocess_page(). */ function grinchlist_preprocess_page(&$variables) { if (grinchlist_usercheck($variables['user']['uid'])) { $variables['scripts'] = preg_replace('/<script[^>]*christmas_snow.*<\/script>/','',$variables['scripts']); } file_put_contents('/tmp/vars.txt',print_r($variables,true)); } the /tmp/vars.txt shows the variables properly, but the browser still show the script being loaded. this may be a silly example, but i've had this issue with the hook_preprocess_page in other instances and it would really help out to understand what is going on here... thanks.

• MySQL + MyISAM table size question

  Hello, I have a test table. The test table is as follows: CREATE TABLE mytest ( num1 int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, KEY key1 (num1) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; I inserted 50 million rows in this table. When I do show table status the avg_row_length is 7. I was expecting to see 4 since mySQL uses 4 bytes for integers. Does the key have an effect on the avg_row_length? • Output to console while preserving user input in ruby

  I have a ruby script that is simultaneously and asynchronously receiving and displaying messages from a server, and allowing user input on the console. When a message is received, it is currently being written in the middle of what the user is typing. The input itself isn't garbled, but it looks horrible. Ideally, it would save the users current input, output the message, and then restore the input on the next line. I've done this in c by intercepting every key stroke, but all I remember is that it was a major hassle. I'm fairly new to ruby, so I'm not sure if there is a good way to do this, or how to do it. Example: User is typing >abcde, and message hello comes in, and user types fgh after. The console would now show: >abcdehellofgh and user can continue typing at the end. I would like it to show: hello >abcdefgh
