• CVS in cmd/gui works only the third time I run a command.

  I'm using CVS in the command line. I'm in my repository folder. When I call a CVS command, I get... cvs [log aborted]: unrecognized auth response from localhost: -f [pserver aborted]: /opt/cvs/XXXXXX: no such repository ...2 times. The third time I run the command, it works with no problems. I tried to use a GUI client (CrossVC) and the same problem occurs. I tried inside gVim and Vim using VCSCommand and I'm having the same issues as well. I've tested with different times between each command, but I still have the same problems. I'm using a CVS configuration with stunnel. Why am I having problem with this setup? Why every time just the third time that I try to run the command that actually works?

  I run a REST-API build on top of Sinatra. Now I want to write a jQuery Script that fetches data from the API. Sinatra is told to response with JSON before do content_type :json end A simple Route looks like get '/posts' do Post.find.to_json end My jQuery script is a simple ajax-call $.ajax({ type: 'get', url: 'http://api.com/posts', dataType: 'json', success: function(data) { // do something } }) Actually everything works fine as long as both runs on the same IP, API and requesting JS. I already tried to play around with JSONP for Rack without any positive results, though. Probably I just need a hint how to proceed.

• removing the single quote from a list of

  I need to append/format a url with a list of ids for an api call however, when i put the list at the end of the api https://api.twitter.com/1.1/users/lookup.json?user_id=%s'%a i just get an empty string as a response. i have tried turning the list into a string and removing the square brackets doing a = str(followers['ids'])[1:-1] but i still get the same problem. and im assuming that its being caused by the single quote at the start. i have tried removing the apostrophe from the string doing a.replace("'", "") and now i have run out of ideas thanks

• Jsonp cross-domain ajax

  I'm working on an application which use ajax call to get html from the server. When I run it on the server, everything works fine. But when I'm running on a localhost, I've a 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' error. I looked arround and it seems like using jsonp could be the solution. So, my ajax call looks like that: $.ajax({ url: url, dataType: 'jsonp', crossDomain: true, type: 'GET', success: function(data){ // should put the data in a div }, error: function(){ //do some stuff with errors } }); I get html from the server, but I always have this error: Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token < Is there a way to wrap the jsonp response in html? • Troubleshooting occasional timeout of select() in windows

  I'm having an occasional problem with select() timing out on me. I have it set for twenty seconds. The system will handle 100's of transactions correctly, but occasionally one fails with the selet timing out. It does about 1 transaction every few seconds, opening and closing the tcp conncetion with each transaction. I thought the server my app was connecting to might have to many connection attempts pending, but no 4226 events are showing up in the logs One more point thing I noticed when using wireshark that I'm getting a SYN,RST in response to the SYN I am appearently sending. This only happens a few times over the first second or two, then I don't see any more activity in Wireshark

  I am using autobech for doing becnhmark. An example of autobench command is as shown below. autobench --single_host --host1 testhost.foo.com --uri1 /index.html --quiet --timeout 5 --low_rate 20 --high_rate 200 --rate_step 20 --num_call 10 --num_conn 5000 --file bench.tsv The uri which I have to specify has a query attached to it.   I am trying to create a jMeter test to login to wordpress and post a new blog on a local installation of wordpress. Recorded wordpress login sequence using the recorder. Added cookie manager to the test plan. However I am not able to login to wordpress. I tried all the possible of combination of Cookie policy and Implementation settings for Cookie manager, but it did not help. When I recorded against the publicly hosted wordpress, the login did not succeed, but the response had an error saying that your browser have not enabled cookies. I am using jMeter 2.11 on Windows 7.

  I am Using SOAP WS for getting the Data. I got the four Parameters in Response - Topic_Name, Topic_Id, Topic_ImagePath and Topic_Details. Now I have All the Images of Topic Locally with the same name as i got from the web service for Particular Topic_ID. My question is I want to use Local image instead using the Topic_ImagePath 's Image but the data Must Come From the Web Service. I dont want to use if ..else condition because I have more than 1000 Topics, any one can explain how I get the Path of Local Image and Display it with the Data Comes From the Web Service..   Hi All, We have some legacy software which depends on sending keystrokes to a DOS window and then scraping the screen. I am trying to re-create the software by redirecting the input and output streams of the process directly to my application.   I've a PHP library that uses a number of regular expressions featuring the \P expressions for multibyte strings, e.g. ((((?:\P{M}\p{M}*)+?)|(\'[^\']*\')|(\"[^\"]*\"))!)?\$?([a-z]{1,3})\$?(\d+) While this works on most builds, I've had a few reports of the regexp returning an error. Depending on Operating platform, the error messages from PCRE are: Compilation failed: PCRE does not support \L, \l, \N, \P, \p, \U, \u, or \X at offset n or Compilation failed: support for \\P, \\p, and \\X has not been compiled at offset n I know that I can probably test a regexp at the beginning of my code that uses \P, and trap for a returned error, then use that response to set a compatibility flag and provide a degraded (non UTF-8) regexp without the \P within the main body of my code based on that compatibility flag; but I was wondering if there was any simpler way to identify whether PCRE had been built without the --enable-unicode-properties or --enable-utf8 configuration switches. PHP provides access to PCRE_VERSION constant, but that won't help identify whether \P support is enabled or not.

• Wrap MemoryStream in a using block REST WCF

  I'm learning REST to implement some Services with WCF. I implemented an example with a MemoryStream. Because MemoryStream is Disposable I wrapped it in a using. When I do this I sometimes can see the xml response in the browser (IE8) and sometimes it will just show me the following Errormessage: The download of the specified resource has failed. Error processing resource 'http://localhost:8889/SimpleGetService/'. Why does this occur? When I don't wrap it in a using, I never seem to get the error.

  Does anyone know of a walk-through or any examples of any code to setup sensors in android. I have the drivers available to me. Also i have implemented the sensors library as instructed in the Android-Reference along the sensors.h template. I am still unable to get any response at the apps level. • Length of data returned from CGImageGetDataProvider is larger than expected

  I'm loading a grayscale png image and I want to access the underlying pixel data. However after I load get the pixel data via CGImageGetDataProvider, the length of the data returned is longer than expected. CCGDataProviderRef provider = CGDataProviderCreateWithFilename(cStr); CGImageRef image = CGImageCreateWithPNGDataProvider(provider, NULL, FALSE, kCGRenderingIntentDefault); mapWidth = CGImageGetWidth(image); mapHeight = CGImageGetHeight(image); lookupMap = CGDataProviderCopyData(CGImageGetDataProvider(image)); mapWidth comes out to 1804 and mapHeight comes out to 1005. The product of which is 1813020 When I call CFDataGetLength(lookupMap) the response is 1833120. Where are these extra 20100 bytes coming from? Any help here is much appreciated. Am I missing something about the underlying format of the image?

  Hi everyone, I programmed a CMS that has a log of who has recently logged into the system. Presently, this data is fed into a jQuery UI tab via Ajax. I would like to put this information into a sidebar on the main page and load it via AJAX every 30 seconds (or some set period of time). How would I go about doing this? Does the PHP response need to be JSON coded? I am fairly new to AJAX and JSON data. • ODBC Storage Size

  I'm pulling a lot of text from a MS SQL Server database. I'm not getting all the text (which includes some html. The text is stored perfectly on the database. However, when I run the query to get the data It will only pull part of the text. I pull the data using odbc_exec and store using $variable = odbc_result($runquery,"body"). if i display the content with odbc_result_all($runquery) i get part of the content. if I use echo $body; i get part of the content then some garbage and part of the text from the begining. very strange response. Is there a size limit? Any ideas what I'm missing here?

• Rails streaming file download

  I'm trying to implement a file download with Rails. I want to eventually migrate this code to using S3 to serve the file. I've copied the Rails send_file code almost verbatim and I cannot seem to get it to stream a file to the user. What happens is that it sends 'a' file to the user, but the downloaded file itself simply contains the text.inspect of the Proc: # What am I doing wrong here? options = {} options[:length] = File.size(file.path) options[:filename] = File.basename(file.path) send_file_headers! options render :status => 200, :text => Proc.new { |response, output| len = 4096 File.open(file.path, 'rb') do |fh| while buf = fh.read(len) output.write(buf) end end } Ps: I've read in a number of other posts that it's not advisable to send files through the Rails stack, and if possible serve using the web server, or in the case of S3 use the hashed URL it can provide. Yes, we really do want to serve the file through the Rails stack.

• ajax Post data missing with tinyMCE on Firefox

  I have a problem with my form when I try to submit with ajax. I am using Malsup Form plugin for Jquery but also using tinyMCE editor. When I submit the form and check the $_POST array, there is no data from the textarea. I have tried to use the triggerSave() function but to no avail. • Why can't I read session variables

  I have a c# .net web application. I create session variables but when I try to read them after I leave the page that they were created from I can't. Created on page 1 Session["UserName"] = "WhatEver"; Then I do Response.Redirect("~/whatever.aspx"); and try to read to read the session variable in the Page_Load method of the new page string userName = Session["UserName"].ToString(); I receive "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Why am I receiving this error and what can I do to fix the problem? I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me.

• Ensuring Updated CSS/JavaScript on Client Side

  I'm trying to ensure that visitors of my ASP.NET MVC website always have the most-current CSS and Javascript (and not some older cached version). I tried to realize this by generating a seed value when the application domain starts, and automatically append it to the CSS and Javascript URLs (so now instead of /Content/All.js the link is /Content/All.js?549238 etc.). Unfortunately I just found out by debugging via Firebug that this causes now a full download request every time (the new "seeded" response is no longer cached at all, but I only wanted the first check to download the 'updated' version, but then cache again/only check if there is a difference). How can I achieve my goal, is there a better way of doing this? I need the client to always request the newest version, but then cache if no change happened. Edit: This appears to be related to the fact that my page is served over SSL. I asked a follow up question here regarding enabling clientside caching with SSL.

But in my app i see the effect of appBlueTheme as GWT doc say "inherited modules will be cascaded in the order they are listed" I want theme to be changed based on user response. • What's the "right" way to get Win32 p/Invoke declarations?

  I typically use the site http://www.pinvoke.net/ to grab a DllImport declaration whenever I need to call a Win32 API, and I've noticed it's the de facto standard response on Stack Overflow to API interop questions. Is this what "everyone" does? Is there a better way? Does Microsoft offer an alternative? e.g. a tool that reads .h files and outputs an assembly. Why aren't there some standard assemblies that just expose all the Win32 APIs? What would be the barrier to creating them and using them, as an alternative to a site like pinvoke.net?
