  • Code management in different projects with different svn repositories

    First of all I want to tell you what kind of system I have and I want to build on. 1- A Solution (has) a- Shared Class Library project (which is for lots of different solutions) b- Another Class Library project (which is only for this solution) c- Web Application project (which main part of this solution) d- Shared Web Service project (which also serves for different solutions) 2- B Solution (has) a- Shared Class Library project (which is for lots of different solutions) c- Windows Form Application project (which is main part of this solution) d- Web Service project (which also serves for different solutions) and other projects like that.... I am using xp-dev.com as our svn repository server. And I opened different projects for these items (Shared Class Library, Web Service project, Windows Form Application project, Web Application project, Another Class Library project) . I want to do the versioning of all these projects of course. My first question is, should I put each project(one solution) to one svn repository to get their revision number later on? Or should I put each of them to different svn repository and keep( write down) their correct version number that is used to publish/deploy every solution? If I use one svn for each project(Shared Class Lib, Web App, Shared Web Service....) how can I relate the right svn address and version on VS.2010 within the real solution? So, how do you manage your repositories and projects?

It has to recursively traverse all sub folders. findFiles(folder, extension, cb); I think a lot developers should have great and tested solution and it is better to use it than writing one myself.

I am researching some different ways that T4 is used, and I would appreciate to hear how YOU may have used it for real life scenarios. I am primarily interested in non-standard and creative uses. I need a tool that will tell me all the routes to deeper(), and more if possible. By saying "more" I mean that it will tell me if the pointer is the same as been provided to the calling function.     Our one and only enterprise application suite has been developed over last 3 years using C# 2.0 on .Net 3.0. We use winforms and WCF heavily. The development tools is VS 2005 Pro / TFS 2005 / Resharper 3.1 As technical lead I obviously understand the benefits in a move to C#3.0 and .Net 3.5. But I want to convince management for a move to C#3.0, .Net 3.5, VS 2008 and TFS 2008. They will obviously be interested in things like productivity, cost, quality etc. Please suggest me some ideas on how best to make my case. Given that this may not happen till mid next year am I better off to hold till VS 2010 and .Net 4.0 is out.

    Hi, I am writing a C++ number crunching application, where the bottleneck is a function that has to calculate for double: template<class T> inline T sqr(const T& x){return x*x;} and another one that calculates Base dist2(const Point& p) const { return sqr(x-p.x) + sqr(y-p.y) + sqr(z-p.z); } These operations take 80% of the computation time. I wonder if you can suggest approaches to make it faster, even if there is some sort of accuracy loss Thanks

    I have 2 activities. In child activity i have put something like that in onPause(): if (isFinishing()) { final Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.putExtra(SOME_DATA, value); setResult(RESULT_OK, intent); Log.i("test", "Result set to RESULT_OK"); } In parent activity i check resultCode when child activity is destroyed, and this is what i have noticed: If i destroy child activity by some action (in some condition i invoke finish()), then resultCode is RESULT_OK But when i destroy by pressing return key (i works only in emulator so its ESC) who kills activity, then resultCode read in parent onActivityResult method equals 0 (RESULT_CANCELD). "test" log read in each case is the same.

    I have a python program that imports pythoncom (and uses pythoncom.CoCreateInstance from it). I want to create a unittest for the program logic without it importing pythoncom (so I can run the test on Linux as well). What options are there? Can I do it without modifying the system under test? What I found so far: sys.modules["pythoncom"] = "test" import module_that_imports_pythoncom My problem with it is if I have: from pythoncom.something import something I'll get: ImportError: No module named something.something And sys.modules["something.something"] or sys.modules["pythoncom.something.something"] doesn't work. Any ideas?
