    I have tried to use some of the widgets in JQuery UI on an Asp.Net MVC site without luck. For example the basic datepicker from jQuery UI - functional demos. I have created a simple MVC project and added the script references in Site.Master like this: <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.2.6.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-ui-personalized-1.5.3.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <link href="../../Content/Site.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="../../Content/ui.datepicker.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />" In the Index.aspx file I have cleared all default content and added the following: <script type="text/javascript"> $("#basics").datepicker(); </script> <input type="text" size="10" value="click here" id="basics"/> The core jQuery works fine.   • AJAX in Rails - doing simple looping to update information when available

    I am trying to get put out a simple site, which would pool the database every few seconds and update the information on the page dynamicly, when theres something new inserted. I am farily new to ruby, but I understand the whole concept of RJS, link_to_function and soforth. The question is, what is the best way how to implement some kind of simple loop, which would run after the page is loaded and update the DOM if there is something new to display.   • Re-binding an ajaxForm after content re-loads with ajax (jQuery 1.4.2)

    I'm trying to figure out why this is a problem when using jQuery 1.4.2 and not 1.3.2. I can post JSON via AJAX I can return JSON from ASP I can't retrieve the posted JSON into an ASP variable POST you use Request.Form, GET you use Request.Querystring......... what do I use for JSON?     I have a JSON that returns from the server which tabs to build, so I init them in my JS like this: $('#tabs').tabs( 'ajaxOptions', { timeout: 20000, error: function(xhr, status, index, anchor){ console.log( status, index, anchor ); } }) .tabs('add', item.CategoryLink, item.CategoryName); Thing is, when I click a tab, and before it is done loading I click another tab, the previous request is aborted and never called again when I click that first one again! this is very bad, because it obviously didn't fetch the request, so what gives? I tried bypassing this by setting: .tabs({ cache: false }) but this is a bad thing to do, because I don't want to have a request each time again... it should be cachced if response was sent. using jquery-ui 1.8.1

    What's a good flash player to use on an ASP.NET MVC site? The page I'm working on will need to display a number of videos on each page dynamically based on what the user searched for. I'd like each of the videos to show up as thumbnails that can be played, paused, and or enlarged to full screen. I've worked with the standard ASP.NET and used FlashControl.dll to accomplish this. Are there better ways than using a user control for MVC pages? Any tips on including video in webpages in general? Thanks in advance!

The control is then used on several different pages, sometimes within an updatePanel, sometimes not. I have the following code to handle loading the jQuery after a partial postback when the control is displayed within an update panel.     Hi I am getting the following errors reported by ELMAH on my asp.net mvc 2 site for javascript files, images etc. System.Web.HttpException: The remote host closed the connection I have done some research and it appears that the user/bot is clicking a link on the site before the page has fully loaded. Now this error never occurs on a controller action but always on a file that is on disk. e.g. /Content/CmsImages/logo.png /Content/CmsImages/MemberImages/Photo-001605.jpg /Content/jquery.tickertype.js So this means that all static files are being routed through the mvc pipeline. What options do I have?

So far I've managed to put a silverlight grid on an a view, using this technique However I have no way of getting the updated data from the silver light grid.     I am loading this page directly inside of jqtouch. First the page shows "Loading..." Then it should execute a GET Request and refresh the content of the div ("tagcloud") as soon as it get's the content from another php file.     I am trying to use JQuery to pull a binary file from a webserver, parse it in Javascript and display the contents. I can get the file ok and parse some of the file correctly. How ever I am running into trouble with one byte not coming out as expected. I am parsing the file a byte at a time, it is correct until I get to the hex value B6 where I am getting FD instead of B6. Function to read a byte data.charCodeAt(0) & 0xff; File As Hex: 02 00 00 00 55 4C 04 00 B6 00 00 00 The format I want to parse the file out into. short: 0002 short: 0000 string: UL short: 0004 long: 0000B6 Any hints as to why the last value is incorrect?

I use jQuery to allow the the user to select which videos they would like to add to their profile. Everything works except that when i try to set the value of the field, in the controller on post, the field comes back empty. I am using the jQuery ajax form plugin. What am i doing wrong that is not allowing the value i set in the field to be sent to the server?

    Learning how to do a master page in asp.net. Trying to figure out how my style sheet interacts with respects to the master page and content page. I can get HTML tags like body and the style sheet to react. But when I call the ID attribute of a label no styling takes place. What am I missing here as far as interaction?
