• Sometimes big delay when using PHP mail()

  I have a website which processes orders from a Windows application. This works as follows: User clicks "Order now" in the windows app App uploads a file with POST to a PHP script The script immediately calls the PHP mail() function (order is not stored in a db) This works fine most of the time. However, sometimes a big delay occurs (several days). Customers calls why the product has not yet been delivered. They say the delay does not occur in their network (impossible). But they do confirm that the e-mail is first seen in their mail server on May 26, which is 7 days after the mail has been composed. The order is marked with the timestamp of the user's local PC, which also matches May 19 (so it's not a PC clock problem) It's also interesting to see that all delayed mails (orders were placed on different days) come in at once. So I suddenly receive 14 e-mail in my mailbox from various days. Any idea were this delay may be introduced? Could there be a bug in my PHP code that causes this? (I cannot believe I can introduce a loop of 7 days in my PHP code)

• Gotomeeting MSI needs elevated privs?

  Typically I can deploy MSIs with no issue, but the Gotomeeting one refuses to install. SCE lists it as pending and AD just attempts to install it, gives up, and never tries again. When I tried running it by double-clicking its icon, it told me "needs to run with elevated privs." I don't see how I can get AD or SCE to run it with these higher privs. I can run it by using an elevated command prompt and running msiexec from there. The MSI is the one labeled "GoToMeeting MSI Installer (ZIP)" from here: http://support.citrixonline.com/GoToMeeting/search?search=msi Any ideas? I run an environment where the users are non-admins and would love to be able to upgrade this centrally.

• Time values not saving in Airport Base Station MAC Timed Access List

  I have an airport base station model A1354. I am attempting to setup MAC Timed Access so a laptop can only connect between 5:00AM and 11:00pm through the Airport Utility version 5.5.2 (552.11). My AEBS is running firmware version 7.5.2 When I try to enter the time values by double clicking over the time and entering 05:00 AM and 11:00PM the time values don't stay as soon as it looses focus. Instead they become what is in the following screenshot, and the laptop looses connectivity as soon as I update the base station. I also tried entering the values in military time with the same result. Any base station power users out there that know how I can get the time values to "stick"?

  I'm trying to use plain-text emails to submit posts to my blog that's hosted on Blogger. I've set my email client to use plain-text but every time I send a post, Blogger hard wraps it instead of letting the text just flow. I've tried this with different mail clients and gotten the same results. I'm 100% sure that I'm sending plain text each time. Does anyone know how to get Blogger to quit doing this? Sigh. Maybe I'll switch to Wordpress...

• Is there a sensible way of 'teaming' two ADSL connections?

  I work in an office complex that has two seperate ADSL connections, which they use to provide two seperate networks (actually both the ADSL routers go into a Cisco managed switch with two VLANs, one for each ADSL connection). Circumstances have changed so that 95% of the users are all on one ADSL connection. It would be great if there were a way to join together both connections to emulate a single connection at double the speed, but the ISP doesn't support bonding. So, is there a sensible way to take two completely seperate ADSL lines and use them to provide a single internet gateway?

• Windows 7 - problems launching default application

  Just built up a new W7 PC. I've noticed some strange issues with launching default applications. I've got Visual Studio & SQL Server Management Studio set run as administrator when launched. If i double click a .sql file SSMS opens ok but the file itself does not get loaded. If I do the same with a .sln then I get nothing at all from Visual Studio. For the latter I presume the UAC prompt is hidden somewhere waiting for me to say it's ok to launch the app but i've no idea what's happening with SSMS. Is this a W7 bug or are there some settings somewhere that I can tweak to improve this behaviour?

• Access - Force Form Refresh on New Record

  Let me set the stage here a bit: I have an Access project with various buttons, triggers, macros, etc. I needed an Appointment Date field to only show when the button APPOINTMENT MADE is toggled ON. This works great. The problem arises when you submit a form with the APPOINTMENT MADE toggled. Once the record is inserted, the Access file clears all fields, but leaves the Appointment Date enabled, when it should be disabled by default. I have tried the Current, Load, Before Insert, After Insert and many other options on the FORM properties. Am I missing a simple way to force a refresh so the field goes back to it's default DISABLED? Thanks in advance!

  I know the answer is probably a resounding YES, but I just wanted to double check. I just purchased a new chassis for my PC and now my 4pin cpu power plug doesn't reach.   I am trying to make an ahk for putty to send the keycodes that I want for some key combinations in order for my program to work over terminal too. For this I have an ahk already with some key combinations working properly by experimenting awfully much time from here and there, from key tables, etc but I still don't get, did not came up with a clear, logical method to calculate the escape key that I want. An example: ^F1::SendInput ^[O5P It gives 28 in my test prog. • Burn Image context menu item missing in Windows 7

  My understanding is that in Windows 7 if I right click an ISO image I should have an option Burn Image, or if I double click an ISO I should get a dialog to let me burn the image.... Not happening for me, any idea's why? Edit: 29th April. I do have isoburn.exe in my system32 directory, and it works just fine if I launch it manually from cmd. However I simply do not have the context menu when I right click on a iso file. So my more specific question is, does anyone know how to simply restore this context menu item, an entry in the registry perhaps? (but where and what)

  Recently i installed a website that had too many requests and it was too slow. Many improvements have been made to the web site code and we've also bought a new server. I want to test the new server with exactly the same requests that made the old server slow. After that, i will double the requests, make new tests and so on. These requests are logged in the apache log files. So, I can parse those files and make some kind of script to make the same requests. Of course, in this case, the requests will be made only by my computer against the server, but hey, better than nothing. • Jenkins projects not visible even though user has all privleges

  We want to lock down Jenkins and specific jobs to certain personnel. I have my account with all global privileges granted with project based matrix security. A coworker has a similar account and has been granted all the same privileges. When I log in with my account, I can see all of the projects we have setup. When my coworker whom has the exact same privileges logs in, none of the projects are visible. I've double and triple checked the permissions matrix to make sure we have the same global privileges; we do. Some of the projects have project specific privileges setup as well, but again; I've confirmed that both of us have the same access to these projects as well. So why can I see all the projects and my coworker is unable to see any of the projects?

• RAID 1 not performing as expected

  I recently bought a new 320Gb hard drive for my computer to set up RAID 1 on it for some added security. Installation went as smooth as could possibly be (plug in power, plug in data cable, start up computer, Intel software recognized new drive, right click create RAID 1, done!). However, for some inexplicable reason, I seem to have strange test results when using BENCH32. On my old configuration, a single 7200 rpm drive, I achieved about 60 MB/s write and 70 MB/s read. With a new RAID 1 configuration, I would expect the write to be slightly diminished but read to be significantly improved (though not exactly double speed). However, with the new configuration, I am getting 90 MB/s write and only about 80 MB/s read. I should NOT be getting improved write performance, especially NOT better than read! What's going on? My system setup is: q6600 2.4ghz CPU 4Gb DDR2 667mhz RAM on board Intel ICH9R "RAID chip" 2x Seagate 7200 RPM 320GB drives in RAID 1 Widows 7 home premium 64-bit

• Using jQuery to call a web service

  I'm working with Hosted SharePoint 2007 with Forms Server. I need to allow client access to submit HTML forms designed in Infopath. Problem is, I need to make sure the clients don't see the library. There is sensitive data that will be on these forms. I also need to have a repeated library that is based on the Internal Admin records and requirements. Outside of making a seperate library per customer, does anyone have any suggestions? My Goal: 1: Customers enter their requests through a link or provided page 2: Internally address the requests and perform required arrangements, add billing and payment fields 3: Have SharePoint metrics, reports, etc... based on the provided intormation and status. • USB drive is empty in drive management

  I've got a USB drive here, that somebody asked to try and fix. When inserting it, it shows up in explorer, but when I double click it I get a message saying "Please insert a disk into drive H:". So I went to disk management, to see if it was correctly formatted. It doesn't show up in the upper pane, and in the lower pane it tells me there is no medium in H:. After this I used chkdsk: the path is invalid. Then I tried TestDisk, which is supposed to look at raw data, and this can't even find the disk. So I'm assuming the drive is dead, even though its LED is burning. But I was wondering if there might be something else I could try? This system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit by the way. • VMware - Watching multiple virtual machine screens

  Hi, I don't know even if I put the question right, but here's what I'd like to accomplish. I have avoided specifying exact Vmware virtualization product here because I'm not sure which one would be most suitable for the task at hand. I am developing an application that works in local network. This application has to run on several computers at the same time, and it's important to me, as a developer and tester, to see (literally) how it behaves at all times on all computers. Is there any way to connect to screens of virtual machines deployed on ESX, ESXi, Sever 2.0, or some other product, so that I can see something like grid of screens, say 4x4 or 6x4 or whatever number of scaled screens, at the same time? Ability to interact with screens directly from grid (by double-clicking a screen, for instance, and then getting full resolution screen) would be greatly appreciated, of course. I hope that someone understood what I meant here. :)

  We have a small house in the countryside and there is no fixed broadband, so we had a mobile flatrate first, and for 2 people with 2 computers it was too slow, so now we have 2 flatrates for 2 client machines. So I pay 2 flatrates and have double bandwith theoretically. There is a local network in the house that connects everything. But when I am alone I wonder how I can use both connections at the same time. I want to build a solution where I can browse the web and page requests are spread between the 2 connections. I imagine there are expensive routers who can split the traffic between 2 lines. But is there a good way to do it with linux? The solution I am looking for will split the requests already for one page (multiple images, css files, javascrfipt files) between the two lines.

• Will disabling NAT on my wireless router cause a performance hit on my DSL router?

  I have a Thomson TG508v2 router/modem and a brand new AirPort Extreme connected to it. At first, I set the AirPort Extreme to "share a public IP", which enables DHCP/NAT. Everything works great but I was having the Double NAT error. So I set the AirPort Extreme as bridge mode, which disables DHCP/NAT and let my crappy modem handle my internal network IPs. Will this cause any performance hit in my network? I'm worried because I'll outsource this job from AirPort Extreme (premium hardware) to the crappy modem. Before you suggest, I tried setting my modem as a bridge and configuring PPPoE on the AirPort Extreme, however it wouldn't connect to the internet, so I just dismissed leaving the modem as bridge.
