• How Do I "open folder in explorer" in Netbeans PHP

  I'm attempting the conversion from Eclipse PDT to Netbeans PHP, and so far I'm really impressed. What would make things perfect is being able to open up a file structure in the standard windows explorer. Say I want to copy in a data file I've just tweaked in another app, or downloaded from a remote server, I have to navigate manually to the folder structure that I already have open in the IDE. It's just about the only thing from Eclipse that I miss in Netbeans. Any suggestions how I can reproduce the functionality?

• MySQL Create tables without commiting current transaction

  I'd like my program to be able to install plugins, and rollback all the changes made if an error occurs. So I create a transaction that keeps all the things that were added while installing the plugin. The problem is that the plugin may want to create tables, and doing so automatically commits the current transaction in MySQL. See Statements That Cause an Implicit Commit on MySQL web site. Any idea on how I could do it? I thought of using temporary tables as they are not automatically commited, unless they are using too much memory, but it looks like temporary tables cannot be rolled back anyway (and I haven't found a way to convert them to permanent tables). I just found out about "save points" (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/savepoint.html), but I don't really understand how/when it should be used nor if it can help me achieve what I want.

  hey, ive read all the scrollTo questions and couldnt find the answer. im trying to use the scrollTo plugin for a simple horizontal scroll (the site is horizontally designed). im using the following code $(document).ready(function() { $('#contactlink').click(function(){ $.scrollTo("#conta", {duration: 8000 }); }); }); as is obvious, contactlink is the anchor link while conta is the anchor where the window should scroll to. i know im missing something very obvious, but as im a beginner with jquery, id appreciate all the help i can get. is there any way to debug the functioning of the plugin? thanks

• Jquery UI Autocomplete widget conflict qith jqeury.menu widget - how can I solve it?

  My app already has a completed menu using jquery.menu.js found at http://wiki.jqueryui.com/Menu. I'm now also trying to add the jquery autocomplete widget from jquery ui 1.8.1 - but both of these have a .menu() function that conflicts with each other. If I put jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.js first in the head, then autocomplete works but the menu does not. If I put jquery-menu.js first in the head, then the menu works but autocomplete doesnt. Is there a way to solve this without editing either plugin? (If I edit, I will probably lose those changes the next time either plugin is upgraded)

• Tools for code snippet execution

  By "code snippet execution", I mean the ability to write a few lines of code, run and test it without having to fire up an IDE and create a dummy project. It's incredibly useful for helping people with a small code sample without creating a project, compiling everything cleanly, sending them the code snippet and deleting the project. I'm not asking about the best code snippets or a snippet editor or where to store snippets! For C#, I use Snippet Compiler. For Java, I use Eclipse Scrapbook. For LINQ, I use LINQPad. Any suggestions for other (better?) tools? e.g. is there one for Java that doesn't involve firing up Eclipse? What about C?

If a String is given, its added as a class to the label. If a Function is given, its called with the label (as a jQuery object) as its only argument. That can be used to add a text like "ok!". Currently I'm only object given to me is the label, and I can only add text to it. Now what I want is to have unique success message. For example: username field will have a success message: 'username okay!' email = 'email seems right' something along those lines, instead of displaying just one generic success message on all the fields.   Can Permalink_fu combine 2 or more model attributes to create a unique permalink? Let's say I have a Business Model, this model contains :name, :address, :phone, :city, :state, :country etc. attributes. Right now I have permalink set up in this model only for :name has_permalink :name So I would get "/biz/name". However I would like to combine the Business name, city, and a incremental number if there are more than 1 location in the city for that business. For example I would like to use: "/biz/joes-coffee-shack-chicago" for the permalink or if a multple location business "/biz/starbucks-chicago-92" Is this possible with the current permalink_fu plugin or some fork of permalink_fu? Or will this require some modification to the permalink_fu plugin?

• Managing Team Development on Shared Website

  I need to know the best way to manage team web-development on a shared server (hostgator). I have done some individual web development on a shared server in the past, and I have always setup SVN through SSH to have a pretty-nice development workflow (version control, quick-commits, work though eclipse/subclipse, etc). However, I also know that with that setup, I had to make some pretty-sophisticated post-commit hooks to export the repository to /public_html; and, therefore, making the repository code testable. This seems like a tedious and error-prone setup for an entire team. I would like to be able to: Easily test the latest code in the repository. Somewhat easily move the code in the repository to production. Use an IDE like eclipse/subclipse to easily work with the repository. With this in mind, does anyone know of a good version-control/repository setup for developing a website with a team of about 4-5 people? Thanks a lot.

  I'm developing a jquery gallery, and I want to parametrize the highlighter function to support any kind of lightboxes (fancybox for example). In my defaults I did something like: $.fn.mygallery.defaults = { functionHighlighter: null } so in the code, creating the item, I'll check this property, and if it's setted to a function, I want to call it on the element: if ((typeof opt.functionHighlighter) === "function") { opt.functionHighlighter.call(link); } where link is the anchor element containing the miniature image, with href setted to the original image. In my idea, when the plugin is called, I set the function with: $("#gallery").mygallery({ functionHighlighter: $.fancybox }); but the "call" on the functionHighlighter executes directly the fancybox, that returns an empty area. What I want to emulate is the execution of link.fancybox(); that correctly builds the plugin on link. Any ideas?

  Hey. My java application has got a package structure similar to this; src/com/name/app , src/com/name/app/do , src/com/name/utils/db and so on. How would I go about compiling java files in these directories in to a runnable jar? I need to package required libraries into the generated JAR (jdbc). I've always done these things in Eclipse but now I need to supply a couple of people with a way to compile the repository without the use of eclipse and I was thinking of making a makefile or a script that invokes the necessary javac pattern. Any help is greatly appreciated.

• LogCat acting patchy

  The LogCat output in eclipse suddenly started weird. It sometimes shows all the output as expected. Other times it just doesn't show anything - is completely blank. After some internet research, I thought Mylyn plugin might be responsible. So I tried de-selecting "Mylyn Tasks UI" & "Mylyn Team UI" on eclipse Window -- Preferences -- General -- Startup and Shutdown -- programs that are started at startup. No Luck. Has anyone else encountered & solved this problem?

  Hi, I am able to debug my ruby program. At times, I would want to go inside the library methods and see what is happening. How to achieve it in Ruby. For example, [ 3, 1, 7, 0 ].sort i would want to go inside the sort method and see how that works lively. In Java+Eclipse this is possible, all I have to do is to attach the source of Foundation classes in Eclipse. Is it possible in Ruby with Netbeans as IDE? Thanks

  Hi I develop in Visual Studio 2008 a lot and would like to find an addin like vsphp which enables intellisense and debugging in Visual Studio. Is IronStudio what I am looking for? As far as I understand IronStudio is a Plugin for .NET. If there is no Plugin for Visual Studio 2008 whats a great IDE for a python newbee who loves Visual Studio (hate netbeans and eclipse sorry just don't feel the love) Also if IronPython Studio is an IDE do I want the Isolated or Integrated Version?   I have this fantastic little plugin working but I need to require that at least one name be selected. I normally use jquery.validate. However, the validation plugin does not appear to work on a field using the tokeninput. Does anyone have an answer? • Embedded strongly-typed views with ASP.NET MVC

  I'm working on a plugin-type of system for ASP.NET MVC that loads views from an embedded assembly. I have created a VirtualPathProvider that does the work of retrieving out of the assembly. Everything is working fine except for strongly-typed views. Whenever I try to load one of those, I get an exception of: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage'. The problem is that there is no Web.config file under the Views folder. Well, actually there is, but the system doesn't seem to want to read the embedded version. If I manually create the file under the corresponding directory in the web app, everything is fine. This isn't an acceptable workaround however, as each plugin would need its own file in its own specific directory. Does anyone know how I might get ASP to read the embedded Web.config file?   I'm creating an Interface Builder plugin for an NSView subclass. I've been following the Interface Builder Plug-in Programming Guide but it's not answer all my questions. My class has one NSString property and 4 NSColor properties which I want to create bindings for at design time. I can't figure out where the bindings are specified in the plugin project. The documentation states that the Inspector Object is only for creating the Attribute Inspector. The class description file (.classdescription) lists outlets and actions but not bindings. Where do I specify the bindings for my class?

  I have a traditional ASP.NET GridView. Inside of it I have a Template Field with edit capabilities. I need to use a jQuery autocomplete plugin on the edit piece. It works anywhere but inside of this GridView. In other words, I know the plugin works.   Hello All, I am using Ubuntu + cakephp 1.3. I am trying the database migration with the help of cakeDC migration plugin. I configured the plugin as per the instructions.   I am trying to write a jQuery plugin, that can be applied to a selector. Within this plugin, there are multiple calls to webservices, where callback methods are required. The problem I am having is maintaining the current context item in the each loop of the selector. (function($){ $.fn.myMethod = function(){ return this.each(function(){ var c = $(this); $.api.methodToCall("", CallbackFunction); }); }; function CallbackFunction(data, result){ // do stuff based on c } })(jQuery); Normally, you would provide the callback function straight away, which allows me to access c, however within the callback function, there potentially is another api call, so it would start to get messy. Is there any way to do this?

  I'm looking at building a MySQL client plugin for a proprietary product, which would violate the GPL as discussed in the FAQ at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#NFUseGPLPlugins However, according to the MySQL FOSS License Exception ("FLE"), discussed at http://www.mysql.com/about/legal/licensing/foss-exception/, you can license an open-source product built with the client with many alternatives. The oursql library (https://launchpad.net/oursql) is BSD-licensed. Is this a valid way around the GPL? By my reading of the FLE, the only clause that refers to downstream uses of derived works is section 2.e: All works that are aggregated with the Program or the Derivative Work on a medium or volume of storage are not derivative works of the Program, Derivative Work or FOSS Application, and must reasonably be considered independent and separate works. This is the case for our product: it is not a derivative work of oursql, and in fact accesses it only via a plugin-driven interface. So is this a valid loophole?

  I'm working on creating my first plugin for rails. I'm still pretty new to ruby and I was wondering if its possible to get the inheriting class? For example, I'm trying to create a plugin that will allow unit testing and functional testing when you are not using migrations. What I'm trying to do is initialize a class variable named controller to be initialized to the type of controller that is being tested. If I have a base class ControllerTest: class ControllerTest < Test::Unit::TestCase attr_accessor :controller def initialize super @controller = "call function that will find the inheriting classes name and create an instance of that controller type." end end So what I'm currently stuck on is getting the name of the inheriting class. Is this possible? And if not, does anyone know another way on how I could go about implementing this? Thanks in advance.

  Hello, I've downloaded Eclipse Classic 3.5 Galileo, the last version of Android SDK, downloaded and installed Eclipse Android 1.6 platform. I've created first (and the only) AVD with Android 1.6 and the default skin. • Wordpress podcasting with youtube video hosting

  I'm trying to build a site based on Wordpress for a client. Eventually it will be used to publish videos which could be hosted locally, but to reduce costs it would be nicer if we could host all our videos on somewhere like YouTube or Vimeo. I'm looking for a plugin or a way of hacking an existing plugin in order to achieve this. The idea is that when we list a new item on the site, users of iTunes / iPod and any other (more) standards compliant podcatcher should be able to view the video. Ideally I'd like to get away without writing a single line of code, but that may not be possible. The best solution for me is the one which requires the least amount of work!
