• Can I import an outline into powerpoint

  I would like to create a bullet point powerpoint in a text file (or Word document) and then import it into Powerpoint 2007 Slide 1 title - bullet 1 - bullet 2 - subpoint - bullet 3 Slide 2 title - bullet 1 - bullet 2 I find that powerpoint makes one think too much about form to the exclusion of content.   Everytime I open csv (comma separated values) document in oocalc (Open Office) i get dialog with csv preferences. And everytime character set is "Eastern Europe (ISO-8859-2)". I would like "UTF-8" to be defaultly selected.

• What is the best way to keep a folder synchronized with my USB drive?

  I know there is a similar topic on syncing between computers, but I'm looking for an application to run on one computer that will sync a "document/file" folder with a folder on my secondary/external USB drive. What would be the best solution? I know I could use Dropbox & Live Mesh, but they use up bandwith which isn't very good when I drop in a lot of large files. I'm running Windows 7, but I assume any solution for Windows Vista would work just fine.

In Windows XP this can be done via Add/Remove Programs. Is there something equivalent on OSX? Or does reinstalling the runtime overwrite the current version?

  On my mac I always have an emacs buffer open and occasionally I have to copy content from PowerPoint or Word. Unfortunately, copying to the clipboard and yanking into emacs saves all the ugly formatting (and graphics) from the original document. I only want to paste in the text (and never the formatting). My current solution is to paste into TextWrangler and then repaste into emacs. What's a better way to do this?

I know that IE has an option to print background but chrome does not .   My document root (suddenly and unexpectedly) changed to /htdocs from /var/www. This happened after I restarted apache2. The only thing I changed was the httpd.conf file which now reads as follows: <VirtualHost *> ServerName hostname UseCanonicalName ON </VirtualHost> I've greped through the entire /etc directory looking for DocumentRoot and they all say /var/www.

  I am using word 2007 and am inserting code into the document. I have a style with a fixed-width font and light grey background and all, and I use Notepad++ for syntax highlighting. My problem is with a "line" of code that is too long to display, so is there a way to auto-insert an arrow symbol at the beginning of a such lines to indicate that it is the same line (kind of like hyphenating, except on long lines instead of long words) So for e.g. something like this: public static void foo(String abcdefg, Boolean 123, ?String xyz)
