• ASP.NET MVC Binding issue

  Hi, I have an object with a property called "name". This object has a sub object that has a property called "name" as well. Transaction.name Transaction.TransactionItem TransactionItem.name I bind Transaction object to a partial control as usual: Html.TextBox("name", Model.name)% Model is a Transaction object. And I bind TransactionItems: < if (Model.mtTransactionItem != null) { foreach (var item in Model.mtTransactionItem) { % <%= Ajax.ActionLink(item.name, "ShowItem", new { id = item.id }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "dialog-form" })% And when I update the one of the transaction items through an ajax call I pass the entire transaction object to the partial view. When I debug I check the Model.name property, and it has a proper value. But on the page shows the name of TransactionItem value instead of the name of Transaction value. What do I do wrong? I have checked this problem in MVC 1.0 and MVC 2.0 framework.

• Binding IsReadOnly using IValueConverter

  Maybe I'm misunderstanding how to use an IValueConverter or data binding (which is likely), but I am currently trying to set the IsReadOnly property of a DataGridTextColumn depending on the value of a string. Here is the XAML: <DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding Path=GroupDescription}" Header="Name" IsReadOnly="{Binding Current, Converter={StaticResource currentConverter}}"/> And here is my converter: public class CurrentConverter : IValueConverter { public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { string s = value as string; if (s == "Current") { return false; } else { return true; } } public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { throw new NotSupportedException(); } } Currently, the column is always editable, the converter seems to do nothing. The "all" target depends on v12target and v13 target, which set a number of variables for that particular build. It also depends on an "avrcommontargets" pattern, which defines how to actually do the compiling. avrcommontargets then depends on the ELF file, which in turn depends on object files, which are built from the C source code. Each compiled C file results in an object file (*.o). Since each configuration (v12, v13, etc.) results in a different output, the C file needs to be built several times with the output placed in different subdirectories. For example, "build/v12/main.o", "build/v13/main.o", etc. Sample output: TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination build//main.o, source main.c TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV12.elf, source build//main.o TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV13.elf, source build//main.o The problem is that the object file isn't going into the correct subdirectory. For example, "build//main.o" instead of "build/v12/main.o". That then prevents the main.o from being correctly rebuilt to generate the v13 version of main.o. I'm guessing the issue is that $(INTDIR) is a target specific variable, and perhaps this can't be used in the pattern targets I defined for %.elf and %.o. The correct output would be: TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination build/v12/main.o, source main.c TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV12.elf, source build/v12/main.o TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination build/v13/main.o, source main.c TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV13.elf, source build/v13/main.o What do I need to do to adjust this makefile so that it generates the correct output?

• Can Haskell's Parsec library be used to implement a recursive descent parser with backup?

  I've been considering using Haskell's Parsec parsing library to parse a subset of Java as a recursive descent parser as an alternative to more traditional parser-generator solutions like Happy. Parsec seems very easy to use, and parse speed is definitely not a factor for me. I'm wondering, though, if it's possible to implement "backup" with Parsec, a technique which finds the correct production to use by trying each one in turn. For a simple example, consider the very start of the JLS Java grammar: Literal: IntegerLiteral FloatingPointLiteral I'd like a way to not have to figure out how I should order these two rules to get the parse to succeed. As it stands, a naive implementation like this: literal = do { x <- try (do { v <- integer; return (IntLiteral v)}) <|> (do { v <- float; return (FPLiteral v)}); return(Literal x) } Will not work... inputs like "15.2" will cause the integer parser to succeed first, and then the whole thing will choke on the "." symbol. In this case, of course, it's obvious that you can solve the problem by re-ordering the two productions. In the general case, though, finding things like this is going to be a nightmare, and it's very likely that I'll miss some cases. Ideally, I'd like a way to have Parsec figure out stuff like this for me. Is this possible, or am I simply trying to do too much with the library? The Parsec documentation claims that it can "parse context-sensitive, infinite look-ahead grammars", so it seems like something like I should be able to do something here.

A first naive approach was to add a parameter to the decorator which holds the object, like @saveconfig(self), but this doesn't work. How can I access object variables of the method host inside the decorator? Do i have to define the decorator inside the same class to get access?

  I have a dilemma. I've used DI (read: factory) to provide core components for a homebrew ORM. The container provides database connections, DAO's,Mappers and their resultant Domain Objects on request. So, to instantiate a new User object: $Container = new DI_Container; $ORM = new ORM($Container); $User = $ORM->load('user',1); //at this point the container instantiates a mapper class //and passes a database connection to it via the constructor //the mapper then takes the second argument and loads the user with that id $User->setName('Rumpelstiltskin');//at this point, User must mark itself as "modified" My question is this. At the point when a user sets values on a Domain Object class, I need to mark the class as "dirty" in the Monitor class. I have one of three options as I can see it 1: Pass an instance of the Monitor class to the Domain Object. I noticed this gets marked as recursive in FirePHP - i.e. $this-Monitor-markModified($this) 2: Instantiate the Monitor directly in the Domain Object - does this break DI? 3: Make the Monitor methods static, and call them from inside the Domain Object - this breaks DI too doesn't it? What would be your recommended course of action (other than use an existing ORM, I'm doing this for fun...)

• error loading (TypeLoadException) on asp.net/xsp/mono on debian/opensuse

  When i reset apache and load my website i get the first error below. I have no idea what the problem is. If i reload the page again (without restarting apache) i get the 2nd error, probably because the first error occurred and BaseUser is the first class/func that Application_Start uses. Why am i getting this load exception? Whats messed up is i tried using mono's VMWare img to debug it and i got the very same exception (until i restarted which now refuses to give me anything but 404 errors). However when i use mono develop to run the project the site runs PERFECT. WTF. Any ideas? Server Error in '/' Application A type load exception has occurred. Description: HTTP 500. • Access Edit Mode Values of BindingSource Control

  I have a BindingSource control (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.bindingsource.aspx) with a datasource of a (single) Linq object. If I change any of the properties of the underlying Linq-to-Sql object then all the other changes on the bound controls on the form are lost. Does anyone now why and how I work around it? I don't want to call EndEdit because this will commit the changes to the underlying object. I think this might be because my underlying object linq-to-sql object does not implement IEditableObject so the potental new values for the object fields are sort of stored in the forms controls. Can anyone either clarify what is going on and/or suggest a work around. Thanks!

  Hello All, I am working with some legacy code, and at some point there is a key in the session that is something like session.setAttribute("com.org.something.Object",someObject); Now trying to access this in a jsp using jstl is a bit difficult becuase if I tried it like I normally would I would do: ${sessionScope.com.org.something.Object.someFieldGetter} As most of us can imagine it will fail because there is no com object in session scope. I also tried ${sessionScope.'com.org.something.Object'.someFieldGetter} And a parsing error was thrown. Does anyone know how to resolve this so that I can correctly get the object similar to session.getAttribute("com.org.something.Object") but through jstl? thank you.

It looks like this: function findRelations(members){ var wires = new Array(); var count = 0; for (n = 0; n < members.length; n++){ alert(members.length); // this alert is undefined if (members[n].connection){ for (i = 0; i < members[n].connection[0].length; i++){ var mw = new Array(); var destination = 0; for (m = 0; m < members.length; m ++){ if (members[m] == members[n].connection[0]){ destination = m; mw = [n, destination]; wires [count] = mw; count++; } } } } } return wires; } However, when I run this function, I get nothing. And the first alert, which is placed inside the function shows 'undefined' at all. findRelations(members); alert("Found " + wires.length + " connections"); I guess that's because of JavaScript literal. Could you suggest how to change a function or perhaps to change litteral to JSON array to get it work?! And at the end to get 'm' and 'n' values as numbers.

• How to retrieve Aggregate objects?

  In DDD, Repository takes care of saving and retrieving domain objects and also serves as collection of Aggregate Roots. My question is how do you retrieve the information for those child entities (let's say from DB) of an Aggregate where basic rule is Repository should just hold collection of Aggregate Roots (parent object) and not child objects? For example: User (parent object) Orders (child object) User domain object is stored in user table and Orders are stored in another table. Basically, retrieving a Domain Object could be like this: <?php $userRepos = new UserRepository(); $user = $userRepos->find($userId); ?> How then the child object (Orders) of User entity be retrieve to be as part of the User aggregate?

• I have to select the checkbox two times to check/uncheck in jTable

  I have a jTable code i intend to use, but the problem with it is that when i click on the checkbox once it doesn't select/deselect it, instead i have to click twice. But if i select any other cell in the row except the one containing the checkbox the purpose is solved.
