    Hi, I've developed a java application that need a ssl client certificate and in the staging environment with apache 2.2 and mod_jk it is working fine. In production the configuration is not using mod_jk but mod_proxy_ajp. I'm looking for an apache configuration example that configure ssl and mod_proxy_ajp for sending the ssl client certificate to the java application server (which listens with the ajp protocol).     I am trying to push DNS to the client with OpenVPN server with config: push "dhcp-option DNS 192.168.x.x" It is working well, but what I really need is that during the VPN connection I do not want to use my primary resolvers, clients should use only the DNS provided by the server. It can be done with push redirect-gateway, but I do not want to tunnel all connections from the client thru the VPN, only specific networks. Is it possible to do it somehow? Linux clients are OK with a script, on Windows I am not sure

  • Provisioning desktop fails with App-v 4.5 client

    Did anybode tried to provisioning a Windows desktop with App-v 4.5 client in the image? I've tried it with Windows XP and 7 but after creating the desktop pool, provisioning fails. In the View Manager I see a error: View Composer agent initialization state error (6): Unknown failure (waited 0 seconds). We are using View 4 and also checked Vmware KB: 1011653. The App-v 4.5 client is installed before the View Agent.

    We're building a web service that will be deployed on an IIS 7.5 farm, and secured through SSL, and also requiring client certs that will be mapped to Active Directory accounts. My understanding is that the server cert needs to be generated for a specific server. If that is the case then we will need a server cert for each server in the farm. Because the farm will be load balanced, how do we generate client certs that will work with any of the servers in the farm?

Can someone enlighten me on what could be slowing down the transfers so much?

    I found this page that tells me how to set up Windows Live Sync as a background service on Windows 2003 Server, unfortunately the resource kit tools for 2003 that are mentioned does not work on 2008 server. http://mswhs.freeforums.org/windows-live-sync-as-a-service-on-whs-t623.html Also, apparently there is no resource kit tools downloadable for Windows 2008 Server that I can find. Perhaps someone has a link to the relevant tools? (INSTSRV.EXE and SRVANY.EXE.) Using just plain SC.EXE doesn't work as I assume that the program is then required to be a normal service, and not just any executable. What other options do I have? Can I use the task scheduler on 2008 server to start the WindowsLiveSync executable, will that work? I need the executable to stay running even after I've logged off from the server.

    I have a test application written in C#/ASP.NET that I've developed using Visual Studio 2008 Professional/.NET 3.5 which connects to a local SQL Server 2008 Express instance. I upgraded the development machine to Visual Studio 2010 Professional maintaining .NET 3.5 and everything in the development environment continues to work correctly. Upon deployment of the new app to an internal staging machine, that app cannot connect to its local SQL Server 2008 Express database. I get the customary "server not found" error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible... Does something need to be upgraded on the staging machine to be able to host a Visual Studio 2010/.NET 3.5 application?

  • Windows can see Ubuntu Server printer, but can't print to it

    I have an old desktop that I'm trying to set up as a home backup/print server. Backup was trivial, but am having issues getting the printing to work. The printer is connected to the server running Ubuntu Server 9.10 (no gui). If I access the printer via http://hostname:631/printers/, I am able to print a test page, so I know the printer is working; however, I am having no luck from Windows.     I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.2 on my Macbook Pro. I can get the apache server to start, but not the mysql server, on both the default apache and default MAMP ports. When I try to go to my start page, I get the message "Error: Could not connect to MySQL server!" .     Hey all, I'm performing a test configuration of System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2, on a system prepared with Sql Server 2008 R2. Unfortunately, the Scom 2007 R2 prerequisites verification program seems to be detecting exact versions of Sql Server, and not simply a minimum version, like it claims: "System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 requires SQL Server 2005 Standard or Enterprise Edition with SP1 and above or SQL Server 2008 Standard or Enterprise edition with SP1 and above. Note: Operations Manager 2007 R2 does not support a 32-bit Operations Manager Operations database, Reporting Server data warehouse or Audit Collection database on a 64-bit operating system." I had hoped that this was just a helper tool that was assisting in getting me off the ground, but unfortunately it seems as if it's actually used as a gate for the installation to proceed. Has anyone encountered this? If so, is there a way to fool the installer into thinking that it has a proper version, or otherwise alert it to my valid configuration?

  • I can't "unmaximize" my window

    I've got a windows app (I don't think it matters which one, but in case you're wondering, it's SQL Server Profiler) that I can't put back into "windowed" mode. I can maximize or minimize it, either by right-clicking on the task bar and selecting maximize...or if the window is already maximized, I can click the minimize button to minimize it... The problem is when I click the middle button...the one that toggles between maximized and "windowed" mode, the windowed mode just makes it disappear. The program is still running fine, and I can bring it back up (maximized) by selecting it in the task bar. It doesn't seem to be hanging out on any of the edges of the screen...far as I can tell, it's just not there. And, of course, the app is "smart" enough to remember its status, so restarting the app doesn't help. Has anyone seen this? Know how to fix it?

    First off apologies, I'm from a medical background not a networking one, but I've got roped into setting up a windows 2008 server. So far web server running, fixed IP address assigned (within a large private network of the National Health Service in the UK if that makes any difference) and the network team have assigned a DNS entry for me which works, so the server can be addressed as nww.myserver.nhs.uk I've only got ports open on the router for 80 and 443 (http and https) at the moment, so presume I need a different port to enable email services. My need is to be able to accept an email to the domain name like [email protected] in order to pick up a confirmation mail from an SSL issuer (Comodo) I guess to confirm that I control the domain. After that I don't actually need mail services on the server. I see lots of stuff about setting up SMTP services but thought that was about mail out and re-routing, but how do you get the server to "listen" for mail to the domain (assuming I open port xyz or whatever it is) ?

I want to know the best solution to have high availability and also have SSRS for reporting. Planned solution: Mirroring for Failover, and Transaction Replication for SSRS as the mirrored database can only be used for failover scenarios. SSRS will be on the Passive server, to reduce the load on the Active server. Let me know if the solution is correct. Also suggest alternate approaches.

  • Server Cabinet/Room Cooling

    Hello all. I currently have two desktops and three servers in my office sitting on the floor (I know this is bad). With that many servers the ambient temperature in the room goes up quickly. I am located in Dallas, TX so during the winter, if the heat is kept low, it is not a problem, but during the summer it easily jumps the room +10 degrees. I have decided and found a free 42U server cabinet that a hosting company was throwing away to house all of these systems in. One server is in a rack mount case while the other four servers are housed in mid-tower cases. I have purchased shelves for each computer and plan to lay the towers side ways on these shelves (as replacing the cases costs a heck of a lot of money). I like the idea of housing all of these systems in the cabinet because it will save a lot of room and clean up all of the cabling currently laying all over the office floor. When putting this setup together over the next couple of weeks, I want to address issues with dust and cooling. The server cabinet has a fan on top, front plexiglass door and a rear metal door with vent wholes on the bottom. First the cooling issues. I know I am going to want to have cool air enter the bottom of the cabinet and exit the top. I do not want the room heating up though as this will make my work area hot and then make the servers warmer as the air eventually reenters the cabinet. I had an idea to fix this problem, but am unsure if it will work. I was thinking of taking flexible piping and adapting it to the back fans of the computer having the other end of the pipe at the top close to the cabinet's top mounted fan. I was then thinking of creating a duct around the top fan into the attic. Now I am very concerned that the attic will cause issues with this type of setup because during July/August time frame, the attic is easily 120 degrees F. I could also use the flexible pipe to take it to an attic exhaust vent if it would be better to vent it into the 100 degree air outside (at least there may be wind. The other option would be to buy a small portable air conditioner. This may be a possibility, but do I want to spend the extra money on power? I bet this increases the noise. Plus they are around $250 on Amazon. What would you all recommend? Depending on the solution I end up running with above, I would also like to limit the dust that gets into the cabinet. If I were to cut a whole and mount a second cabinet fan on the bottom of the rear door, could I possibly mount a standard home air filter on the other side of that whole?
