    Hey guys, I am trying to use the Jets3t library within an Android application, and I keep getting errors with the Rest service when I use the library. 04-27 16:47:39.491: ERROR/S3Service(225): Couldn't initialize a sax driver for the XMLReader I have tried to include the Xerces library and the Crimson library, and it dont play well. I get this error: Attempt to include a core class (java.* or javax.*) in something other than a core library. It is likely that you have attempted to include in an application the core library (or a part thereof) from a desktop virtual machine. This will most assuredly not work. At a minimum, it jeopardizes the compatibility of your app with future versions of the platform. It is also often of questionable legality. If you really intend to build a core library -- which is only appropriate as part of creating a full virtual machine distribution, as opposed to compiling an application -- then use the "--core-library" option to suppress this error message. Is there something I can do to get it working ?

  • Difficulty getting Saxon into XQuery mode instead of XSLT

    I'm having difficulty getting XQuery to work. I downloaded Saxon-HE 9.2. It seems to only want to work with XSLT. When I type: java -jar saxon9he.jar I get back usage information for XSLT.   • wxWidgets: How to initialize wxApp without using macros and without entering the main application l

    We need to write unit tests for a wxWidgets application using Google Test Framework. The problem is that wxWidgets uses the macro IMPLEMENT_APP(MyApp) to initialize and enter the application main loop. This macro creates several functions including int main(). The google test framework also uses macro definitions for each test. One of the problems is that it is not possible to call the wxWidgets macro from within the test macro, because the first one creates functions.. So, we found that we could replace the macro with the following code: wxApp* pApp = new MyApp(); wxApp::SetInstance(pApp); wxEntry(argc, argv); That's a good replacement, but wxEntry() call enters the original application loop. If we don't call wxEntry() there are still some parts of the application not initialized. The question is how to initialize everything required for a wxApp to run, without actually running it, so we are able to unit test portions of it?

    I'm completely new to Haskell (and more generally to functional programming), so forgive me if this is really basic stuff. To get more than a taste, I try to implement in Haskell some algorithmic stuff I'm working on. I have a simple module Interval that implements intervals on the line. It contains the type data Interval t = Interval t t the helper function makeInterval :: (Ord t) => t -> t -> Interval t makeInterval l r | l <= r = Interval l r | otherwise = error "bad interval" and some utility functions about intervals. Here, my interest lies in multidimensional intervals (d-intervals), those objects that are composed of d intervals. I want to separately consider d-intervals that are the union of d disjoint intervals on the line (multiple interval) from those that are the union of d interval on d separate lines (track interval). With distinct algorithmic treatments in mind, I think it would be nice to have two distinct types (even if both are lists of intervals here) such as import qualified Interval as I -- Multilple interval newtype MInterval t = MInterval [I.Interval t] -- Track interval newtype TInterval t = TInterval [I.Interval t] to allow for distinct sanity checks, e.g. makeMInterval :: (Ord t) => [I.Interval t] -> MInterval t makeMInterval is = if foldr (&&) True [I.precedes i i' | (i, i') <- zip is (tail is)] then (MInterval is) else error "bad multiple interval" makeTInterval :: (Ord t) => [I.Interval t] -> TInterval t makeTInterval = TInterval I now get to the point, at last! But some functions are naturally concerned with both multiple intervals and track intervals. For example, a function order would return the number of intervals in a multiple interval or a track interval. What can I do? Adding -- Dimensional interval data DInterval t = MIntervalStuff (MInterval t) | TIntervalStuff (TInterval t) does not help much, since, if I understand well (correct me if I'm wrong), I would have to write order :: DInterval t -> Int order (MIntervalStuff (MInterval is)) = length is order (TIntervalStuff (TInterval is)) = length is and call order as order (MIntervalStuff is) or order (TIntervalStuff is) when is is a MInterval or a TInterval. Not that great, it looks odd. Neither I want to duplicate the function (I have many functions that are concerned with both multiple and track intevals, and some other d-interval definitions such as equal length multiple and track intervals). I'm left with the feeling that I'm completely wrong and have missed some important point about types in Haskell (and/or can't forget enough here about OO programming). So, quite a newbie question, what would be the best way in Haskell to deal with such a situation? Do I have to forget about introducing MInterval and TInterval and go with one type only?   • Problem with Gallio and TeamCity and the new Visual Studio 2010 release

    I am running TeamCity on a virtual machine. I have installed the new Visual Studio 2010 release yesterday and converted my VS 2008 projects. I also have installed .NET Framework 4 on my virtual machine. Before yesterday all my projects were building succesfully on the CI server but since I installed VS 2010 I get the following error message : error MSB5014: File format version is not recognized. MSBuild can only read solution files between versions 7.0 and 9.0, inclusive. I did change my config on Team City to take into account the new .NET 4 framework : Build Runner : MSBuild Build File Path : CFT.msbuild MSBuild version : Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 MSBuild ToolsVersion : 4.0 Run Platform : x86 I think it has something to do with the fact that now MSBuild must refer to .NET 4 framwork but it seems that it keeps refering to 2.0.

    I am having troubles using global variables in python... In my program, i have declared 2 global variables, global SYNC_DATA and global SYNC_TOTAL_SIZE Now in one of my functions, I am able to use the global variable SYNC_DATA without declaring it as global again in the function; however , I am not able to use the other global variable SYNC_TOTAL_SIZE in the same way. I have to declare the latter as global in the function again to use it. I get this error if i use it without declaring as global in the function - "UnboundLocalError: local variable 'SYNC_TOTAL_SIZE' referenced before assignment" Why is it so that sometimes I can access global variables without declaring them as global in functions and sometimes not? And why Is it that we have to again declare it as global in the function when it is already declared once in the beginning... Why doesn`t the function just check the variable in the global namespace if it does not find it in its namespace directly?

    I am a total beginner with python. I need help updating the score of a card game. The scoring works as follows: Player A or B has a pair: score += 1 Player A asks Player B (vice versa) for a card and that player has it: score += 1 Player B doesn't have it, Player A has to draw a card. If there is pair after draw: score += 2 I have the logic down but I don't really know how to connect it together. I tried manually adding the scores in my functions, but it get's messy and complicated :( I assume I would have to make a new function for the score and call them in my other functions? I would appreciate the guidance, Thank-you!

    Is there a way in Terminal Services to set limits on memory related parameters for a process. For example working set size and, possibly, if it makes sense, total virtual memory allocation for the session? To turn the question around, we have an application which cannot allocate as much virtual memory running on a terminal server as it can when running on a desktop PC (both I would expect to have a limit of 2GB for user mode address space) and I was wondering if there is another limit for processes or users on a terminal server. Perhaps even 2GB per user rather than per process.

I want to perform the inverse: creation of a string from an integer. i.e. I want some function int2base(num,base) such that: int( int2base( X , BASE ) , BASE ) == X the function name/argument order is unimportant For any number X and base BASE that int() will accept. This is an easy function to write -- in fact easier than describing it in this question -- however, I feel like I must be missing something.     I'd like to be able to define lambdas using common Lisp syntax, in Clojure. For example: (lambda (myarg) (some-functions-that-refer-to myarg)) This needs to result in the same as: #(some-functions-that-refer-to %) In my case, I know I'll always have exactly one arg, so perhaps that simplifies things. (But it can be called anything -- "myarg" or whatever.) I suspect a workable solution is to "(defmacro lambda ...". If so, I'm not sure of the best way to proceed. How to cleanly translate the arg name to %? And how to end up with the correct function? Or, is there a simpler solution than writing my own macro that actually re-implements Clojure's... lambda?

  • Eclipse + Git: Can't add files to my repository

    I use Eclipse (Helios) with PDT and egit. I have a project without versioning, so I created a git repository for it by doing: Team -> Share Project When I try to add the files of my project to the repository: Team -> Add I get an exception: Failed to add resource to index Failed to add resource to index Exception caught during execution of add command When I add the files manually on the command line, everything is working fine. Any ideas? EDIT: The error eclipse gives is: Caused by: org.eclipse.jgit.errors.ObjectWritingException: Unable to create new object: Z:\eage_layout\.git\objects\60\f30dd232bd6ddaeb198fb11400c2613a072189 at org.eclipse.jgit.storage.file.ObjectDirectoryInserter.insert(ObjectDirectoryInserter.java:100) at org.eclipse.jgit.api.AddCommand.call(AddCommand.java:177) The code I'm running is located on a virtual machine running on CentOs. I'm working on a windows machine and using a samba share to get access to the code on the virtual machine. I've put the filesystem permissions on my .git directory to 777, but still it does not work.

  • Memory mapped files causes low physical memory

    I have a 2GB RAM and running a memory intensive application and going to low available physical memory state and system is not responding to user actions, like opening any application or menu invocation etc. How do I trigger or tell the system to swap the memory to pagefile and free physical memory? I'm using Windows XP. If I run the same application on 4GB RAM machine it is not the case, system response is good. After getting choked of available physical memory system automatically swaps to pagefile and free physical memory, not that bad as 2GB system. To overcome this problem (on 2GB machine) attempted to use memory mapped files for large dataset which are allocated by application. In this case virtual memory of the application(process) is fine but system cache is high and same problem as above that physical memory is less. Even though memory mapped file is not mapped to process virtual memory system cache is high. why???!!! :( Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    I am using Symfony PHP Framework to create web application, and using symfony Forms to create the HTML forms. I am trying to load the data in Select element using Ajax, for that i am using jQuery's Ajax functions. It is working fine as it sends and gets the response correctly(status as 200), but not calling the Callback function in some browsers such as IE,Chrome and Safari.It works fine in Firefox and Opera. the Code that is not working, $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'form/ajax', async: true, cache: false, dataType : 'json', data: 'id='+ids, success: function(jsonData){ alert("ok go"); } }); the alert "OK Go" is not called in Chrome,IE and Safari But $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'form/ajax', async: true, cache: false, dataType : 'json', data: 'id='+ids, success: alert("ok go"); }); this works, but as per the project i want the JSON data to load in my Select element. is there any thing wrong in the return JSON format or the bug in the jQuery Ajax functions, please help.

  • Jquery hasClass conditional not working

    Hey, I have my site going here: http://www.treethink.com I am trying to make it so when a navigation item is clicked, it retracts the news ticker on the right and then doesn't run any of the extracting/timer functions anymore. I got it to retract but it still extracts. How I am doing it is I am adding a "noTicker" class with the nav buttons and removing it with colorbox's close button. The function runs on the page initially and if there isn't a "noTicker" class it runs the news ticker as planned. When a nav or close button is clicked it runs the function again which checks again to see if it has that class. So if it has the class it should retract (which it is so that must mean it's adding the class properly) and then not run any of the timer functions, but it still runs the timer functions for some reason.     Google Spreadsheets currently does not support the standard function TDIST - i.e. the Student's t-distribution. This function is critical for calculating p-values. It seems that this is related to the fact that no integral-using functions (AFAICT) are implemented either. However, Google Docs allows people to add and publish their own scripts, in JavaScript. So ideally we should have something like: function tdist(t_value, degrees_of_freedom, two_tailed [defaults true]) {...} Anyone know of either an extant implementation of this (my google-fu has not turned up one, but may be weaker than yours) or a good idea for how to do it? I'd like to publish this together with some other useful functions that are currently calculable but a bit of a pain (like Student's t-test itself). Thanks!

  • Search algorithm for a sorted double linked list

    As a learning excercise, I've just had an attempt at implementing my own 'merge sort' algorithm. I did this on an std::list, which apparently already had the functions sort() and merge() built in. However, I'm planning on moving this over to a linked list of my own making, so the implementation is not particuarly important. The problem lies with the fact that a std::list doesnt have facilities for accessing random nodes, only accessing the front/back and stepping through. I was originally planning on somehow performing a simple binary search through this list, and finding my answer in a few steps. The fact that there are already built in functions in an std::list for performing these kinds of ordering leads me to believe that there is an equally easy way to access the list in the way I want. Anyway, thanks for your help in advance!

However, the trick here is that I have to keep /dir/.htaccess to serve up virtual directories (such as /dir/state/AK/35827/ which aren't actual directories) if you know what I mean. Problem is, if I keep /dir/.htaccess, a request of: http://example.com/dir/state/AK/35827/ DOES NOT redirect to: http://www.example.com/dir/state/AK/35827/ as would: http://example.com/ redirect to: http://www.example.com/ Not sure if I made it clear. Basically, how to make http://example.com/dir/state/AK/35827/ correctly redirect to http://www.example.com/dir/state/AK/35827/ AND I can serve virtual URLs?

    Hi, On OS-X (PHP5.2.11) I have a file: siësta.doc (and thousand other with Unicode filenames) and I want to convert the file names to a web-consumable format (a-zA-Z0-9.). If I hardcode the file name above I can do the right conversion: <?php $file = 'siësta.doc'; echo preg_replace("/[^a-zA-Z0-9.]/u", '_', $file); // Output: si_sta.doc ?> But if I read the file names with scandir, I've got strange conversions: <?php $files = scandir(DIRNAME); foreach ($files as $file) { echo preg_replace("/[^a-zA-Z0-9.]/u", '_', $file); // Output for the file above: sie_sta.doc } ?> I tried to detect the encoding, set the encoding, convert it with iconv functions.     Hello, Is it possible to make a jquery ajax call, and get the response as an input parameter of another function: here is an example, i have the following function call at a location: updateTips(validationTextObject,objUsers.fetchAvailable()); the objUsers.fetchAvailable() function makes a ajax call to the server. The callback function on successful call would be something like this. It is being used to process the result BHUsers.prototype.recvAvailable= function(response){ // some kind of processing over here return (response["status"] == "OK")? "Available" : "Not Available"; } I want that fuction to return the processed result which can be used as a parameter to the function updateTips The primary goal of this is to be able to do all of this for multiple scenarios, rather than writing multiple functions for the same call. Also i want the calling and the response processing functions to just do what they are doing. I dont want to add html objects into it. Any Clues?

  • PLT Scheme Extracting field ids from structures

    I want to see if I can map PLT Scheme structure fields to columns in a DB. I've figured out how to extract accessor functions from structures in PLT scheme using the fourth return value of: (struct-type-info) However the returned procedure indexes into the struct using an integer. Is there some way that I can find out what the field names were at point of definition? Looking at the documentation it seems like this information is "forgotten" after the structure is defined and exists only via the generated-accessor functions: (<id>-<field-id> s). So I can think of two possible solutions: Search the namespace symbols for ones that start with my struct name (yuk); Define a custom define-struct macro that captures the ordered sequence of field-names inside some hash that is keyed by struct name (eek).
