• How to reset keyboard for an entry field?

However, my case is that the keyboards are different some fields. For example, one fields is numeric & punctuation, and the next one is default (alphabetic keys). For the numeric & punctuation keyboard is OK, but the next field will stay as the same layout. It requires user to press 123 to go back ABC keyboard. I am not sure if there is any way to reset the keyboard for a field as its keyboard defined in xib? Not sure if there is any APIs available? I guess I have to do something is the following delegate? -(void)textFieldDidBegingEditing:(UITextField*) textField { // reset to the keyboard to request specific keyboard view? .... } OK. I found a solution close to my case by slatvik: -(void) textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField*) textField { textField.keyboardType = UIKeybardTypeAlphabet; } However, in the case of the previous text fields is numeric, the keyboard stays numeric when auto-jumped to the next field. Is there any way to set keyboard to alphabet mode?

• Using Read-Only Fields in a C# WebBrowser

  I'm currently using a WebBrowser control in a C# WinForms application, and attempting to control some variability presented with this control. Basically, my users log in to a separate UI provided by my application, which then displays the WebBrowser control, navigates to a predetermined log-in URL, and then auto-fills the username and password fields on that page. However, in order to prevent unpredictable behavior in this WebBrowser control, I want to make these username and password text boxes read-only after they are auto-populated. Essentially, I want the user to see a browser page that has been filled out for them, and that cannot be edited. (This is so that any authentication errors can be handled by my application as opposed to the browser.) The code I'm currently using to populate the text fields and make them read only is as follows: webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("username").InnerText = username; webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("password").InnerText = password; webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("username").Enabled = false; webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("password").Enabled = false; Unfortunately, when I try to make the fields read-only, the authentication server acts like the password field was not filled out, and prompts the user to fill it out again after the "Submit" button is clicked. Is this expected behavior, and if so, what other methods can I try to prevent users from changing the credentials that the browser was auto-populated with?

• How do I constrain a container's height to the height of a specific content element?

  I'm trying to do something which seems like it should be extremely simple and yet I can't see how. I have a very simple layout, a TextBox with an image next to it, similar to the way it might look adorned with an ErrorProvider in a WinForms application. The problem is, I want the image to be no higher than the TextBox it's next to. If I lay it out like this, say: <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <TextBox Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" MinWidth="100"/> <Image Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Source="error.png" /> </Grid> the row will size to the height of the image if the image is taller than the TextBox. This also happens if I use a DockPanel or StackPanel. The naive solution would be to bind the Height to the TextBox's ActualHeight. I'm sure this is wrong. But what's right?

  I am trying to implementing deadlock condition but somehow I am not able to get it working. Both the threads Thread1 and Thread2 are entering in the run function but only one of them enters in Sub/Sum depending on who entered run first. Example : if Thread2 entered run first the it will call sub() and Thread1 never calls sum(). • Why is android:transcriptMode="normal" not working properly?

  I've been doing a lot of fiddling with an issue I've been having. What happens is each time an item gets added to my listview (adapter) I expect it to auto-scroll if I'm at the last item (which it will do to an extent); HOWEVER, if 3 or more items get added at once, it will not auto-scroll. Here is the XML of that listview: <ListView android:id="@android:id/list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:transcriptMode="normal"/> I tried a workaround using a snippet I found here. • How to reduce the time of clang_complete search through boost

  I like using clang with vim. The one problem that I always have is that whenever I include boost, clang goes through boost library every time I put "." after a an object name. It takes 5-10 seconds. Since I don't make changes to boost headers, is there a way to cache the search through boost? If not, is there a way to remove boost from the auto-completion search? update (1) in response to answer by adaszko after :let g:clang_use_library = 1 I type a name of a variable. I press ^N.   I was experimenting a little with the C++11 standard and came up with this problem: In C++11 you can use auto and decltype to automatically get return type for a function as, for example the begin() and end() functions below: #include <vector> template <typename T> class Container { private: std::vector<T> v; public: auto begin() -> decltype(v.begin()) { return v.begin(); }; auto end() -> decltype(v.end()) { return v.end(); }; }; My problem here is that I have to declare the private vector<T> v before the public declarations which is against my coding style. I would like to declare all my private members after my public members. You have to declare the vector before the function declaration because the expression in decltype is a call to vector member function begin() and requires an instance of the object. Is there a way around this?

I have tried variations on using the css height/min-height properties: html, body { height:100%; ... } #all { height:100%; min-height:100%; } #page { height:100%; min-height:100%; height:auto !important; } It seems like if I remove height:auto from "all" then it seems like it works UNTIL you scroll, then after the scroll the background for all dissappears example However if I keep the height:auto there then I get the problem of the background for page not working example Hopefully someone knows a fix?

• Primefaces tabview: set the active index on tab change

  I've got a tab view that contains two tab. When I switch from tab 1 to tab 2, I'm calling some code that executes a validation and updates some values. Depending on the result of this validation, I would like to stay on tab 1, or go to tab 2, and refresh the tabs' content. I thought adding an update attribute to p:ajax would render the whole tabview but only the tabs and/or the tabs' content is re rendered. And weirdest of all, if I change update=":form:tabview" to update=":form" or update="@form", I only receive the tab's content in the ajax response - the component disappears from the page! My bean is viewscoped, I'm using Primefaces 3.5, JSF 2.1 and Tomcat 7. Any idea? Thanks.

• ASP.NET MVC 2 JQuery POST not displaying the model state errors

  Hello, I have been using asp.net mvc for a bit (but I'm still a beginer). I want to have the ability to update two views as a result of a jquery postback. Basically I have a list and a details view. The details view is presented using a jquery popup (using jquery-UI popup). I only want to update the list if the details save is successful (i.e. there are no validation errors on the details view). However, if there are any validation errros in the details view, I want to update the details view so that the user sees the validation errors. so I thought in my controller, I return a JsonResult instead of a View. [HttpPost] public ActionResult SavePersonInfo(Person p) { if(ModelState.Valid) { return View("PersonList"); } return Json({Error = true, View = PartialView("PersonDetails", p)}); } As you can see if there are no errors I return the person list view, but if there are any validation errors, I have return the details view. The reason that I'm returning a JsonResult is I need to tell my view there is an error so that the view (jquery) knows which section to update (as in whether to update the person list 'div' or the popup dialog 'div'). So, in my view, the jquery is as follows (please assume that there is a form for entering in the person details and "SubmitPersonForm();" function is called upon clicking on the "Save" button): <script type="text/javascript> $('#btnSave').click(function (event) { onBegin(); $.ajax( { type: "POST", url: "/Person/Save", data: $('form').serialize(), success: function (result) { if(result.Error) { $('#dvDetails').html($(result).View)); } else { $('#dvPersonList').html($result); } } }); }); </script> So the problem that I have now, is that when there is a validation error, I do see the correct, 'div' being updated, but I lose the asp.net mvc validation messages. I do have valication summary and Html.ValidationFor(m = ...) statements put in my details view. Could someone tell me why I'm not seeing the validation errors? although I'm using a JSonResult, I do use the right property which is a valid view when I render the 'dvDetails'. Am I doing something that I'm not suppose to in asp.net mvc? Btw I'm using asp.net mvc2 RC with Visual Studio 2010 RC. Thank you.

• How to show server errors in Rails 2.3.5 with JSON and jQuery

  I've got in-place editing on a page in my app (using Rails 2.3.5 and jQuery). I want to know how to display an error on the page when the update fails. I'm using ajax (an XMLHttpRequest) to save an update to a Comment object. The controller has an update method like this: def update @comment = Comment.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| # if @comment.update_attributes!(params[:comment]) if false #deliberately forcing a fail here to see what happens format.json { render :nothing => true } else format.json { render :json => @comment.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end In Firebug, I can see the server returns a "422" (an appropriate validation error status code). But it's a response to an XMLHttpRequest so there is no redirect to an error page. I think I actually want to do this: format.json { render :json => @comment.errors} or maybe this: format.json {render :json => { :status => :error, :message => "Could not be saved" }.to_json, :status => 400 } and trigger some Javascript function that iterates through (and displays) any errors. I'm using a rails plugin http://github.com/janv/rest_in_place/ to implement the in-place editing. It doesn't appear to have any callback function to handle a failure. What are my options? Can I write some Javascript to respond to a failure condition without hacking the plugin? Do I have to hack the rest_in_place plugin to handle a failure condition? Is there a better plugin (for Rails or jQuery) that handles in-place editing, including failure conditions? UPDATE This post from Peter Bui (http://paydrotalks.com/posts/45-standard-json-response-for-rails-and-jquery) was helpful in showing how to handle an error message from the server using XMLHttpRequest.status. I looked at his implementation of a blog using ajax (http://github.com/paydro/talks). I'm surprised at the complexity required to handle a simple error condition. Usually Rails has all the goodness baked in but it seems server errors with JSON are out of scope. Can that be? I also looked at grimen's validatious-on-rails (http://github.com/grimen/validatious-on-rails/) which accommodates models validations when ajax XMLHttpRequest is used. It's not clear to me how I'd use it to handle the general case of a "save" failing when validations succeed. P.S. Please vote me up... so I can use more than one HTML link when I ask my question :-)

• Spring transaction demarcation causes new Hibernate session despite use of OSIV

  I'm using Hibernate with OpenSessionInViewInterceptor so that a single Hibernate session will be used for the entire HTTP request (or so I wish). When clicking on links in a main nav, the url is updated properly, but when links are loaded dynamically with ajax, the url address function breaks. I have made 'click' events live, allowing for content to be loaded via dynamically loaded links, but I can't seem to make the address event listener live, but this seems to be the only way to make this work. • DataRelation Insert and ForeignKey

  Guys, I have a winforms application with two DataGridViews displaying a master-detail relationship from my Person and Address tables. Person table has a PersonID field that is auto-incrementing primary key. Address has a PersonID field that is the FK. I fill my DataTables with DataAdapter and set Person.PersonID column's AutoIncrement=true and AutoIncrementStep=-1. I can insert records in the Person DataTable from the DataGridView. The PersonID column displays unique negative values for PersonID. I update the database by calling DataAdapter.Update(PersonTable) and the negative PersonIDs are converted to positive unique values automatically by SQL Server. Here's the rub. The Address DataGridView show the address table which has a DataRelation to Person by PersonID. Inserted Person records have the temporary negative PersonID. I can now insert records into Address via DataGridView and Address.PersonID is set to the negative value from the DataRelation mapping. I call Adapter.Update(AddressTable) and the negative PersonIDs go into the Address table breaking the relationship. How do you guys handle primary/foreign keys using DataTables and master-detail DataGridViews? Thanks! Steve EDIT: After more googling, I found that SqlDataAdapter.RowUpdated event gives me what I need. I create a new command to query the last id inserted by using @@IDENTITY. It works pretty well. The DataRelation updates the Address.PersonID field for me so it's required to Update the Person table first then update the Address table. All the new records insert properly with correct ids in place! • Verify Authenticode signature as being from our company for automatic updater

  I am implementing an automatic update feature and need some advice on how to do this securely using best practices. I would like to use the downloaded file's Authenticode signature to verify that it is safe to run (i.e. originates from our company and hasn't been tampered with). My question is very similar to question #2008519. The bottom-line question: what's the best, most secure way to check Authenticode signatures for an automatic update feature? What fields in the certificate should be checked? Requirements being: (1) check signature is valid, (2) check it's my signature, (3) old clients can still update when my certificate expires and I get a new one. Here's some background information / ideas from my research: I believe this could be broken into two steps: Verify that the signature is valid. I believe this should be easy using WinVerifyTrust as outlined in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa382384(VS.85).aspx - I don't expect problems here. Verify that the signature corresponds to our company, and not another company. This seems to be a more difficult question to answer: One possibility is to check some of the strings in the signature. Could be obtained via code at MS KB article #323809, but this article doesn't make recommendations on what fields should be checked for this type of application (or any other, for that matter). Question #1072540 also illustrates how to get some certificate info, but again doesn't recommend what fields to actually check. My concern is that the strings might not be the best check: what if another person is able to obtain a certificate with the same name, for example? Or if there's a valid reason for us to change the strings in the future? The person at question #2008519 has a very similar requirement. His need for a "TrustedByUs" function is identical to mine. However, he goes about doing the check by comparing public keys. While this would work in the short-term, it seems like it won't work for an automatic update feature. This is because code signing certificates are only valid for 2 - 3 years max. Therefore, in the future, when we buy a new certificate in 2 years, the old clients wouldn't be able to update any more due to the change in public key.

It works great with jpg and jpeg files of any size, but not with png.
