    I have spent the last 3 hours google and bing for a good asm tutorial(x86 variety). I have been on this site for many of these results. Non have really been sufficient. Mainly because while i like learning theory, i learn it best via practice, while for example pc-asm has about 20-30 pages of theroy before anything practical. I was wondering if there was a tutorial or online pdf (or cheap book(<£20)) that i could use that suits my style of learning. Please state if this is not possibke Thank you for your time

    In general aspects, this might be a good reference for everyone. Having an idea of how long people take in average for properly learning how to code can give a very good idea on how dense or long is the path. Someone who never programmed should take weeks or months, even years maybe while someone who's already experienced in the area and know at least 2 different languages might take days, hours or even minutes to start coding. But other than being able to write code that runs, there are ways to write the same program, and it's much harder to get deep knowledge on that than actually being able to program. And sometimes languages differ a lot from one to another on that aspect as well. For instance, we should never have to worry with code-injection in JavaScript like we do in C. So, is there any place we can see some good numbers for how long it takes to learn a language, maybe divided into level of knowledge categories, languages and paradigms, etc?

    Hello, in my web page a user fill a form who send information to a MySql database. One of the data inputs sent is a date/time, in the format date('l jS \of F Y h:i:s A'); (I can change the format as needed) So when the user submits the form i wanna check if the actual time/date is 30 seconds more than the sent time/date in order to allow or not the submission of the form.     Problem: I want to make iPhone OS 2.1 apps, but Xcode now always makes automatically an iPhone OS 3.0 project. I forgot about it and now I have an app which I want to test on my iPod touch, but I need to build OS 2.1. Is there a way to get this working? The dropdown from top left in Xcode only offers to build for OS 3.0 device. However, when I open old projects, there I have OS 2.1 available.

    I have some special cells in my Excel workbooks which are managed by my Excel Add-in. I want to prevent users from changing content of those cells, but I also want to know, what value users wanted to enter to those cells. On the SheetChange event I can check what users entered to my special cells, but how do I determine the PREVIOUS value in those cells and REVERT user changes? It is not a solution for me. If I lock cell in Excel, it becomes read-only - user can not even try to enter anything to this cell - Excel popups warning dialog in this case. My problem is that I want to catch what user entered to my cell, do something with this value, and then revert cell content to original value.

    Google App Engine (GAE) Java SDK uses eclipse as main IDE. IDE runs a server app when I launch debugging session. And it runs another server app when I launch debugging session again. It closes the server app when I stop the debugging session, but it doesn't when I re-launch debugging session. Re-launching means stop and launch again. Why does it stop existing app? So I have to close the server app manually at each time. Is there a way to close existing running app when re-launching debugging session?

    Hi!, I have setup svnserve server (1.6.5,plain, without apache) on Fedora. The users, who has accounts in same machine want to checkout a working copy. I have read svnbook and other sites and found file:/// access method is being used to checkout as svn checkout file:///var/svn/repos/myproject/trunk myproject ( ref:svnbook) I am little confused!     You know how this $(function() { ... }); will fire whether or not the "document ready" event has already occurred? I want to define an event like that. That event is a special case in jQuery. I'm wondering if a custom event can behave in the same way, using only the standard event mechanisms. Ideally, I'd like to be able to define handlers in the "normal" way: $(document).on("init.mything", function() { ... }); This works now if the above runs before init.mything is triggered. But if it doesn't, then the handler never runs. What makes this tricky is, I don't want to assume anything except that jQuery has loaded. Any ideas?
