Java UIManager - What's the name of the area around a button

In my bash script I have two variables 'CONFIG_OPTION' and 'CONFIG_VALUE' which contain string VENDOR_NAME and Default_Vendor respectively. I need to create a variable with name '$CONFIG_OPTION' ie VENDOR_NAME and assign the value in CONFIG_VALUE to newly created variable. How I can do this? Varnish cached 'MISS status' object?

My site uses nginx, varnish, jboss. And some url will be cached by varnish, it depends a response header from jboss. The first time, jboss tells varnish doesn't cache this url. Then the second request, jboss tells varnish to cache, but varnish won't cache it. I used varnishstat and found that 1 object is cached in Varnish, is that the 'MISS status' object? I remove grace code and the problem still exists. When I PURGE this url, varnish works fine and cache the url then. But I can't PURGE so much urls every startup time, how can I fix this? I'm trying out the Rijndael to generate an encrypted license string to use for our new software, so we know that our customers are using the same amount of apps that they paid for. I'm doing two things: Getting the users computer name. Adding a random number between 100 and 1000000000 I then combine the two, and use that as the license number(This probably will change in the final version, but I'm just doing something simple for demonstration purposes). Cannot access updated Java object from Saxon XSLT processor

I am working with an open source version of the Saxon XSLT processor "Saxon 9.0.0.2J from Saxonica" and am trying to make use of the java extensibility for the first time. I am running into an issue I suspect may be a limitation on the open source version, but wanted to check first whether there might be something I am just missing here. From the snippet below, my result is that the final value of $c1 does not change as a result of the call to greg:setTime() - i.e. the $c1 variable within Saxon appears to be unhooked from the underlying Java object and there is no apparent way to access the object as updated by the setTime() call. NOTE that all code in the snippet is tested and working otherwise - i.e. $c1 is properly instantiated by the getInstance() call, $startdate is of the proper format and $d1 is properly instantiated. Sync Vs. Async Sockets Performance in C#

Everything that I read about sockets in .NET says that the asynchronous pattern gives better performance (especially with the new SocketAsyncEventArgs which saves on the allocation). I think this makes sense if we're talking about a server with many client connections where its not possible to allocate one thread per connection. Then I can see the advantage of using the ThreadPool threads and getting async callbacks on them. But in my app, I'm the client and I just need to listen to one server sending market tick data over one tcp connection. Right now, I create a single thread, set the priority to Highest, and call Socket.Receive() with it. My thread blocks on this call and wakes up once new data arrives. If I were to switch this to an async pattern so that I get a callback when there's new data, I see two issues The threadpool threads will have default priority so it seems they will be strictly worse than my own thread which has Highest priority. I'll still have to send everything through a single thread at some point. Say that I get N callbacks at almost the same time on N different threadpool threads notifying me that there's new data. The N byte arrays that they deliver can't be processed on the threadpool threads because there's no guarantee that they represent N unique market data messages because TCP is stream based. I'll have to lock and put the bytes into an array anyway and signal some other thread that can process what's in the array. So I'm not sure what having N threadpool threads is buying me. Am I thinking about this wrong? Is there a reason to use the Async patter in my specific case of one client connected to one server?

Displaying single-instance business object data on SSRS

I have a SQL Server Reporting Services local (i.e. RDLC) report displayed in a ReportViewer, with two subreports. I am using business objects to populate the datasets. What is the best way to populate single-instance data on my report, e.g. a dynamic title, or a text box that lists a calculated value, not based on the report data? I am currently displaying data using the following style: public class MyRecordList { string Name { get; set; } List<MyRecord> Records { get; set;} } public MyRecord { string Description { get; set;} string Value { get; set;} } I set the datasource to the Records in an instance of MyRecordsList, and they print out find in a table. But adding a textbox and and referring to Name displays nothing. I also tried turning Name into a List, and referring to the first in the list, using: =First(Fields!Name.Value, "Report1_MyRecordList") but still nothing is printed on the report.

Data Binding to an object in C#

Objective-c/cocoa offers a form of binding where a control's properties (ie text in a textbox) can be bound to the property of an object. I am trying to duplicate this functionality in C# w/ .Net 3.5. I have created the following very simple class in the file MyClass.cs: class MyClass { private string myName; public string MyName { get { return myName; } set { myName = value; } } public MyClass() { myName = "Allen"; } } I also created a simple form with 1 textbox and 1 button. I init'd one instance of Myclass inside the form code and built the project. Using the DataSource Wizard in Vs2008, i selected to create a data source based on object, and selected the MyClass assembly. This created a datasource entity. I changed the databinding of the textbox to this datasource; however, the expected result (that the textbox's contents would be "allen") was not achieved. Further, putting text into the textbox is not updating the name property of the object. I know i'm missing something fundamental here. At some point i should have to tie my instance of the MyClass class that i initialized inside the form code to the textbox, but that hasn't occurred. Everything i've looked at online seems to gloss over using DataBinding with an object (or i'm missing the mark entirely), so any help is great appreciated. ----Edit--- Utilizing what i learned by the answers, i looked at the code generated by Visual Studio, it had the following: this.myClassBindingSource.DataSource = typeof(BindingTest.MyClass); if i comment that out and substitute : this.myClassBindingSource.DataSource = new MyClass(); i get the expected behavior. Why is the default code generated by VS like it is? Assuming this is more correct than the method that works, how should i modify my code to work within the bounds of what VS generated?

Debugging HTML & JavaScript with Firebug

I made a JSONP widget. However, when one of the partner sites put it in their page, (1) it doesn't render at all in IE and (2) in other browsers (Firefox & Google Chrome), the HTML of the widget renders incorrectly: the <aside> closes prematurely, before the Financial Aid Glossary. It's something specific to that page because it works fine on this example college resource center page. To fix these two issues, I tried saving the page source to a local file and messing around with the local file and with Firebug, deleting DOM elements and stuff. Accessing a com object's vtable in c#

I'm attempting to access a com object's vtable in memory and getting nowhere. From what I have read, the first 4 bytes in memory of a com object should be a pointer to the vtableptr, which in turn is a pointer to the vtable. Although I'm not sure I expect to find my test method at slot 7 in this com object I have tried them all and nothing looks like the address of my function. If anyone can make the necessary changes to this sample to get it to work (the aim is just to try and invoke the Test method on the Tester class by accessing the com object's vtable and locating the method in whichever row it turns up) I would be very grateful. Hibernate - query caching/second level cache does not work by value object containing subitems

Hi! I have been struggling with the following problem: I have a value object containing different panels. Each panel has a list of fields. Mapping: <class name="com.aviseurope.core.application.RACountryPanels" table="CTRY" schema="DBDEV1A" where="PEARL_CTRY='Y'" lazy="join"> <cache usage="read-only"/> <id name="ctryCode"> <column name="CTRY_CD_ID" sql-type="VARCHAR2(2)" not-null="true"/> </id> <bag name="panelPE" table="RA_COUNTRY_MAPPING" fetch="join" where="MANDATORY_FLAG!='N'"> <key column="COUNTRY_LOCATION_ID"/> <many-to-many class="com.aviseurope.core.application.RAFieldVO" column="RA_FIELD_MID" where="PANEL_ID='PE'"/> </bag> </class> I use the following criteria to get the value object: Session m_Session = HibernateUtil.currentSession(); m_Criteria = m_Session.createCriteria(RACountryPanels.class); m_Criteria.add(Expression.eq("ctryCode", p_Country)); m_Criteria.setCacheable(true); As I see the query cache contains only the main select like select * from CTRY where ctry_cd_id=? Both RACountryPanels and RAFieldVO are second level cached. If I check the 2nd level cache content I can see that it cointains the RAFields and the RACountryPanels as well and I can see the select .. from CTRY where ctry_cd_id=... in query cache region as well. When I call the servlet it seems that it is using the cache, but second time not. If I check the content of the cache using JMX, everything seems to be ok, but when I measure the object access time, it seems that it does not always use the cache. Cheers Zoltan
