  • How do I set a Group Policy's Password Policy in C#

    I am trying to retrieve a group policy from a Windows Server 2008 Active Directory and change the minimum password age, maximum password age, and minimum password length in a C# application. Is there a way to do this? So far I have only found out how to create new Group Policy objects using Interop.GPMGMTLib (gpmgmt.dll), yet I haven't figured out how to change the policy's password rules and I am not sure if there is an easier way.

    How do you get better than 1024x768 resolution? Just installed MS Server 2008 64bit on a Dell PowerEdge 64bit box (works OK - Previously running MS Server 2003 32bit) After install - gives a a max resultion of 1024x768 I want to change the reslution to 1280x1024 (Same LCD Worked OK on server 2003) When I down load a driver I get a messeage "Radeon 7000 does not recognise driver" Also have Have a new LG W1042 I'd like to use. This goes up to 1440

    How can I disable the local user account password complexity settings on Windows 2008 R2 "Server Core"? I am trying to migrate our windows 2003 web server to windows 2008 R2. I am trying to see if I can use the "Server Core" install, and it has been a very internet search intensive experience. What I can't find out how to do is to find out how to disable password complexity for local user accounts. While our user account generator currently creates nice strong passwords, there was a time when this was not the case and unfortunately forcing the users to change their password is not an option at this time.     This is my first silverlight Application. I am trying to use Rating Control from 3.0 Toolkit with VisualStudio 2008 Here are the problems: I am unable to see designer view after adding Rating Control and few other controls. I am not getting any errors or warnings on markup or while compiling. Trying to access Property window for any control is giving me this message " Property Editing not available". Is this the way silverlight was made available with Visual Studio or is there something I am missing here?

    Hi In SQL Server 2008: I have one table, and I want to do something along the following lines: SELECT T1.stuff, T2.morestuff from ( SELECT code, date1, date2 from Table ) as T1 INNER JOIN ( SELECT code, date1, date2 from Table ) as T2 ON T1.code = T2.code and T1.date1 = T2.date2 The two subqueries are exactly identical. Is there any way I can do this without repeating the subquery script? Thanks Karl

Any one here to share their experiences working with Microsoft DSL Toolkit and T4? Also, any pointers to open source DSL projects will help - Eg. Microsoft Service Factory modeling edition is heavily relying on DSL toolkit. As OSLO/Quadrant will take some time to get released, I think the only option we have is to rely on Microsoft DSL designer.     Hi I am trying to deploy an application with two executable files one of which is the application it self. I used the publish tub on the VS 2008 and tried to publish manually using the MageUI.exe. in both cases I get the "Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the downloaded assembly" error in regards to the second executable file.     TFS 2008, VS 2008. I have a tfsbuild.proj and tfsbuild.msp file in $/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/Dev folder. I have a targets file at $/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/IncludeFiles/Common/test.xml. test.xml contains an XML fragment that overrides the BeforeGet task. I tried to get the file into my tfsbuild.proj file like this: <Import Project="$/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/IncludeFiles/Common/test.xml" /> The build fails because it tries to get the file from a relative path that is way off. How can I specify external/include files from an explicit TFS "remote" path? Thanks.

Without Crystal Reports Server, is there a way to share functions between reports so that they do not need to be duplicated? But the comment symbol // works with MVS 2008 and this symbol is in C99. I have two questions: To what extent MVS 2008 support C99? Is it ok in the same code to mix C89 and C99 syntax together? So if I write my code in C89 and then place a comment //. This means that I have mixed-coding. So what does the compiler do in such a case?
