  • iPad orientation on launch problem in portrait (bottom home button)

    Hi.... I've an iPad app that supports all orientation... my problem was on the start up of the application. In case of landScapeRight and landScapeLeft and portrait(top home button) the views shows correctly but when the app start in portrait (bottom home button) the views show in landscape mode... I've implemented the - (void) willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation duration:(NSTimeInterval)duration - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation When I change the apps orientation the views shows correctly.

  • DB time always showing as zero in Rails development log timings

    I've noticed that the Rails log correctly displays the time taken to execute an action in the logs, and that the View: part of that is also rendered correctly. However, the DB: value is always zero: Aug 11 13:00:22 [2326] INFO: Completed in 2072ms (View: 94, DB: 0) | 200 OK In fact, all my DB timings are being logged as zero. I'm logging at DEBUG level, in development mode, running Rails 2.3.2. Apologies in advance if the answer is blatantly obvious.

  • How to use the debugger with nested static libraries in XCode?

    Hi all, A project that I've inherited has the following structure: Project A produces a static library. Project B produces a static library and links with library A. Project C produces the executable and links with library B. When I run app in debug mode, I can successfully debug code within the executable (project C) and the static library from project B. I can't, however, debug anything in the Project A library -- my breakpoints are ignored. I've checked and made sure that debug symbols are enabled and not stripped. Is there something else I'm missing? Thanks

    How can I set Java 1.6 to be the default for my MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with OS X 10.5.8? I have installed the latest software update, and dragged the Java SE 6 64-bit choice to the top in the "Java Preferences" application (and even rebooted), but still, on the command line, java -version responds with: java version "1.5.0_24" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_24-b02-357-9M3165) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_24-149, mixed mode, sharing) Any ideas?

    Hello, I am writing a program using rmi to connect server and clients together and got the following issue: My rmi server support both ethernet and wifi mode rmi clients can connect to the server either vi ethernet or wifi depending. That because s*ome clients can only run via ethernet* and some can only run via wifi. My question is: how can I make my rmi server connect to all clients in such situation? Thanks.

    I'm writing part of a web page that allows a user to build a table and fill it with information. In the course of building the table, the user will be adding additional columns with headers. I'd like to code it so when the combined width of all the headers causes one of them to wrap that the table columns switch to using vertical text (writing-mode: tb-rl).   • Why AVCaptureSession output a wrong orientation?

    Hey guys, So, I followed Apple's instructions to capture video session using AVCaptureSession: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/qa/qa2010/qa1702.html. One problem I'm facing is that even though the orientation of the camera / iphone device is vertical (and the AVCaptureVideoPreviewLayer shows a vertical camera stream), the output image seems to be in the landscape mode. I checked the width and height of imageBuffer inside imageFromSampleBuffer: of the sample code, and I got 640px and 480px respectively. Does anyone know why this's the case? Thanks!

  • using ruby-debug with jruby-1.5.0

    Release notes say that ruby-debug is installed by default. I'm using rvm. In my rails app I figured something as simple as script/server --debugger would suffice, but it complains that the ruby-debug gem isn't installed, suggests using gem install ruby-debug, which of course doesn't work (building native extensions) and is contrary to the docs anyway. Just wondering if anyone's had any luck using the built in ruby-debug in jruby 1.5 and what one needs to do in order run jruby in debug mode

The problem is that while I can create a good layout for one android phone, it doesn't work for another, ie the trackball for MyTouch is on the right side (landscape mode), but for the MyCliq, the DPad is on the left side.   • I have enabled hidden administrator in Win 7 home, but programs still dont work.

    I have Windows 7 Home Premium, and would like to do some maintenance tasks such as running Disk Defragmenter. However, this and other programs and applications that I'm accustomed to using are now blocked. For these programs, there is a shield icon next to their icons and nothing happens when I click on them. I notice that the screen blinks slightly, but I do not get prompted for a password and the program still does not run. It seems these programs may only be accessible through an Administrator account. However, right-clicking and selecting "Run As Administrator" does not work. After some research, I found a way to enable the hidden built-in Administrator account. I booted the computer into safe mode. In the command prompt, I typed net user administrator /active:yes. I gave the account a password. I rebooted the system. There is now an Administrator account on the home screen. However, the locked programs behave no differently for me when I use this account. What could cause this problem? How can I fix it?

  • Enabled Network Discovery on Server, and now VNC and Squeezebox clients don't work

    I've recently setup a Windows Server 2008. It's running an email server, Squeezebox server, MS SQL Server, etc. I'm doing remote maintenance with UltraVNC. I had everything working fine. Then the server needed to access a network share on another machine, and I was prompted to turn on network discovery, which I did. I chose the Home rather than Public option. Since doing that, some things have stopped working, while others are still fine. Shared folders and the the Email services (ports 25 and 110) are still accessible. VNC (port 5900) and Squeezeboxes (port 9000) no longer work. Here's what I've tried to try to solve the problem: Checked the network discovery settings, to see if anything looked strange. Checked the firewall settings, and those ports appear to be open. Also in the firewall settings, the entries for Private domain Network Discovery were all on, but the Domain/Public ones were off. I tried turning those on. In the services, turned on Function Discovery Resource Publication and SSDP Discovery. Any other suggestions?

    Hi Another Day, another CoreData problem,...but hopefully the last one now. Ok here is a copy of what I have : I have a List of Hotel Guests that stay in one Room and have Preferences. Once ready the user should select a guest and see the data and should also be able to add new guest, select the room (maintained also by application) and select their preferences (where the user can also add new preferences). The guest can have no or many preferences. So here is what I have so far. I created 3 Entities : - Rooms with roomnumber - Preferences with name - GuestInfo with name - with these Relationships room (Destination Rooms) and prefs (Destination Preferences with "To-Many Relationship") The prefs is a NSSet when you create a Managed Object Class. Now I created a UITableViewController to display all the data. I also have an edit and add mode. When I add a new Guest and just fill out the name, everything works fine. But when I want to add the prefs or the room number I get this error : Illegal attempt to establish a relationship 'room' between objects in different contexts Now, what confuses me is that when I add a guest and enter just the name, save it, go back and edit it and select the prefs and room number it works ? I have this line in both ViewControllers to select the room or prefs : [editedObject setValue:selectedRoom forKey:editedFieldKey]; with this .h : NSManagedObject *editedObject; NSString *editedFieldKey; NSString *editedFieldName; Again, it works on the editing mode but not when I want to add a fresh object. And to be sure, this is what I do for adding an new Guest : - (IBAction)addNewItem { AddViewController *addViewController = [[AddViewController alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; addViewController.delegate = self; addViewController.context = _context; // Create a new managed object context for the new book -- set its persistent store coordinator to the same as that from the fetched results controller's context.   • Do not re-create session id .net cookieless sessions

    Due to target audience I am using .net cookieless sessions in auto-detect mode and time to time I get visitors redirected with cookiless session url like domain.com/(S(jdhdghdghd))/default.aspx Problem is, if I call this url after session expired .net will re-create it. What I want to find out is a way to force .net to create another session id instead of using the one that came with url. Is it possible?
