  • Plotting Scientific data in .net

    Does anyone have any recommendations for plotting scientific data in .net (c# winforms). Some of my requirements are: real time plotting, 3D (waterfall), multiple axis, ability to accept BindingList as a data source and recognize any changes to the data. I also need a high level of user interactivity such as the ability to graphically select 1 or more series, draw regions. highlight part of a series, etc. So far I've looked at Nevron, Synchfusion, Infragistics, TeeChart and a few others.

  • .net Listview control will only display largeIcon.

    I'm using the RC of visual Studio 2010. Writing a .net 3.5 application. When I launch the app, the listview control only shows in LargeIcon view. This is not the view I want. I've set the View property in the designer with no success. I've even tried to explicitly set the view during runtime lvAvailableItems.View = View.Tile; Has anyone else had this issue, and if so what was your workaround.

  • SQL Command Result to Dictionary C# .NET 2.0

    I have a simple SQL query (using SqlCommand, SqlTransaction) in .NET 2.0 that returns a table of integer-string pairs (ID, Name). I want to get this data into a dictionary like Dictionary. I can get the result into a DataTable, but even iterating over it, I'm not sure how to do the typing and all that stuff. I feel like this must be a common problem but I haven't found any good solutions. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I have large documents (HTML or Text) (think legal documents/regulatory documents etc.) that need to made readable i.e. paged, with some rich-text markup, allowing user highlighting and annotation etc. I was thinking of using a Scribd style rendering or as on Secwatch.com (see here). Any thoughts how I can go about it? We are on ASP.NET.

    I've thrown together some code to tinker with the new .Net 4.0/VS 2010 pieces, but I can't seem to find a build of my logging framework of choice (log4net) for 4.0, and I'm getting reference errors with the 2.0 version. Is there a 4.0 version available somewhere? I'm not asking for new features, just a version that's already been rebuilt against the new assemblies. Anyone know where I can find a build of 1.2.10 built for the 4.0 framework?

  • VB.NET: how to require CheckedListBox to have at least one item selected in WinForms

    With the CheckListBox in VB.NET in VS2005, how would you make it compulsory that at least one item is selected? Can you select one of the items at design time to make it the default? EDIT: How can I make it so the last item the user tries to uncheck is the one that stays checked? So it's like the user tries to uncheck the only checked item but can't because it checks back straightaway.

    I was watching the HaHaa presentation on ASP.NET MVC from MIX and they mentioned using a Post Model where I guess they were saying you could use a model that was ONLY for posting. I have tried looking for examples for this. Am I not understanding what they are saying? Does anyone have an example of how this might work in a strongly typed view where the view model and post model are not of the same type?

    I am converting a large project in VB.NET that is using Option Strict Off into Option Strict On Naturally I am running into the same compilation error over and over. Strict On does not allow implicit conversion from Object to String/Integer/Double Is it possible to to access the compilation errors with a macro and automatically append .ToString() to the erroneous implicit conversion.     Hi, I am having a requirement, where I need to have a pie-chart, i need text around pie-chart , the text should be a hyperlink. Ex: we have 3 three fields A,B,C. A's ratio is 30%, B's ratio is 40%, c's ratio is 30% So pie chart gets divided into 3 parts, outside the graph , we should get the label A(in A's area only), when we point on , tool tip should say "A's ratio is 30 %'. I am working in .Net 3.5, VS 2008, using MS chart control(added explicitly by executing MSChart.exe. Thanks in Advance Ram
