    In the iPod app, the navigation views have the default status bar style, and the Now Playing view is in the black style. The transition between them is animated with a crossfade. I want to do that.   • Unique task queue task names only for active duration

    I want to guarantee that a task is not in a task queue more then once, so I generate a unique name based on it's payload. But, that task name is reserved for up to 7 days, which is not what I want; I only want it reserved for the duration the task is queued; it could be immediately re-queued. Once a Task with name N is written, any subsequent attempts to insert a Task named N will fail. Eventually (at least seven days after the task successfully executes), the task will be deleted and the name N can be reused. Is there a way to check if the named task is already in the queue then add it if it's not? Or a totally different approach?

    hi everybody, I have an mvc php website where users can publish their public information: http://www.example.com/foobar/profile. Beside this project, based on some red5 samples, I have an application (done with Flex) that sends audio: rtmp://server/sendAudio (very basic but works). I want to create for each subscribed on my website an admin part where can send an audio stream: http://admin.example.com/foobar. And, when someone goes on their public profile, they can listen to the streamed audio: http://www.example.com/foobar/profile). How can I use my red5/flash app dynamically with my php website so that my users can broadcast their proper canal? Do you have some experience to share ? Thank you, Regards.

  • Issue on passing a checkbox set to an AppEngine script through jQuery Ajax/Json

    I have a set of checkboxes with multiple choice allowed. I parse the set this way: if ($("input[name='route_day']:checked").length > 0) { $("input[name='route_day']:checked").each(function(){ if(this.value != null) route_days_hook.push(this.value); }); dataTrap.route_days = $.JSON.encode(route_days_hook); } ...and pull the whole dataTrap to an AppEngine Python script via jQuery ajax. However, the Python script just bugs. If i change dataTrap.route_days value to a string instead of the JSON encoded object, everything works fine. My question is: how can i pass a checkbox set to the script using Ajax and still be able to iterate over it on the script?

    I often use GWT for web UIs. I have heard of it being used a fair bit in conjunction with Gears for offline solutions (probably nowadays HTML5 "offline storage" is all the rage) and I'd like to experiment with building a GUI in GWT and use it on my iPad. Tips/tutorials on how to deploy it onto the device to act as much as possible like a resident "App"? This is just a curiosity/experiment to fill a week-end... (I can "free" the iPad for the experiment if need be yet I am sure a lot can be done without doing so...)

    hi, I am reading a "table" in Python in GAE that has 1000 rows and the program stops because the time limit is reached. (So it takes at least 20 seconds.)( Is that possible that GAE is that slow? Is there a way to fix that? Is this because I use free service and I do not pay for it? Thank you.   • Database storage for high sample rate data in web app

    I've got multiple sensors feeding data to my web app. Each channel is 5 samples per second and the data gets uploaded bundled together in 1 minute json messages (containing 300 samples). The data will be graphed using flot at multiple zoom levels from 1 day to 1 minute. I'm using Amazon SimpleDB and I'm currently storing the data in the 1 minute chunks that I receive it in. This works well for high zoom levels, but for full days there will be simply be too many rows to retrieve. The idea I've currently got is that every hour I can crawl through the data and collect together 300 samples for the last hour and store them in an hour Domain (table if you like). Does this sound like a reasonable solution? How have others implemented the same sort of systems?

  • Tortoise svn Subversion Update Error

    Hey All, I recently was working on an open source project... Everything was going great for a week or two but them something happened and I don't know what, and I can't update anymore! I know the url is correct, because I can check it out on my linux server... but when I try to check it out with tortoise svn on my windows box it doesn't work. The error message I'm getting is this OPTIONS of 'http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flex/sdk/branches': 200 OK (http://opensource.adobe.com) Does anyone know what that means. The 200 OK part seems odd to me... it connected to the server but wasn't able to get the code? And what does OPTIONS of... mean? I've looked around, and some people were having proxy issues... but i'm not behind a proxy, and I made sure that tortoise svn is not trying to use a proxy. If anyone could help, that would be great!     I need to show an UIScrollView with some pages for present the app to user when launched for the first time. My slides are working correctly, lefting the logic to present it. Is a good practice to set the UIScrollViewController as root controller and set a NSUserDefault variable to control the presentation and redirect to main controller or set the main ViewController as root normally and call the presentation view if needed is a better approach? If there is a better way to do this can someone help? Thanks.

    I am writing a Google Chrome extension. I have reached the stage where I can pass messages back and forth readily but I am running into trouble with using the response callback. My background page opens a message page and then the message page requests more information from background. When the message page receives the response I want to replace some of the standard text on the message page with custom text based on the response. Here is the code: chrome.extension.sendRequest({cmd: "sendKeyWords"}, function(response) { keyWordList=response.keyWordsFound; var keyWords=""; for (var i = 0; i FIRST QUESTION: This all seems to work fine but the text on the page doesn't change. I am almost certainly because the callback completes after the page is finished loading and the rest of the code finishes before the callback completes, too. How do I update the page with the new text? Can I listen for the callback to complete or something like that? SECOND QUESTION: The procedure I am pursuing first opens the message page and then the message page requests the keyword list from background. Since I always want the keyword list, it makes more sense to just send it when I create the tab. Can I do that?     when inserting an USB-Flash drive, Windows normally opens the Autoplay dialog that offers to browse the drive or if there are multimedia files it offers to choose an app to open them. We developed a media player that is connected to the USB-Drive and registers itself as Mass Storage Device. What I need is, that when inserting the Player that this Dialog is not shown, but instead my own application is launched. Ideally the application would be on the Flash Drive itself, but as I understood is that Autorun is disabled for USB-Drives. It would be enough if a preinstalled application is launched. I already tried to catch the WM_DRIVE_CHANGE message, but this only works if my application is the top most window, otherwise the Autoplay Dialog is displayed. Best Tom

I have tried everything I could and know but, can't think of anything else. Can someone help? thanks

Users follow other users, and can also follow hashtags. I am outlining the way I've designed this below, but there are two limitaions in my design. I am using this statement: from api.main import package_post But I am getting this error: ImportError: cannot import name package_post I really don't know why I am getting this error! I do have _init_.py files in the api directory (which contains the files nbemail.py and main.py) and I do have the function package_post defined in main.py. Any idea to help fixing this problem?

I have added a function which I use to get the authors of these articles using only one query (it is described here) But I don't know what to do with the favorites (I'd like to know which of the displayed articles have been favorited by me using less than 10 queries (I want to display 10 articles)). Is it possible?

    I have my greasemonkey script scanning every page i visit for a specific string. I would like to recordkeep the variations of the string in a sqlite db. I'll have another app process this db everyonce in a while. What i dont know is HOW do i store the data into the sqlite db? i was thinking i can launch an executable automatically if the string was found but i dont know how to do that through javascript. Another alternative i thought was have a socket listen on a certain port and have some js magic but i couldnt think of a silent way to send data like that.
