  Has anyone worked with the programming language Church? Can anyone recommend practical applications? I just discovered it, and while it sounds like it addresses some long-standing problems in AI and machine-learning, I'm sceptical. I had never heard of it, and was surprised to find it's actually been around for a few years, having been announced in the paper Church: a language for generative models.

• Can XP 32bit use the Windows 7 64bit upgrade?

  Purchased a new computer, actually the parts to build one. Unsure what windows 7 to purchase. Need at least professional, seems to be around $200 upgrade to $300 full version. If I put the old XP on my new machine, will i be bale to use the 64bit windows 7 Pro upgrade instead of having to buy the full version? Will it still do a clean install?

  I am writing an iPhone application and needed to use the address book functionality. For this to work, it is necessary to specify a ABPeoplePickerNavigationControllerDelegate on the ViewController. The problem is that I am creating all fields and buttons dynamically runtime, and thus does not have any custom ViewController - using only UIViewController class. My question is then - how can I specify the delegate runtime without having to create a ViewController class just for this purpose.

  Hi, I've been using Visual Studio's property sheets for building my code and I have a useful hierarchy of sheets controlling the build settings, rather than having them in the vcproj files. This is great except for one thing. I can't seem to set properties in the Project Defaults section such as CharacterType and ConfigurationType. I tried using a VCConfiguration tool in the vsprops but to no avail: <Tool Name="VCConfiguration" ConfigurationType="4" /> Can anyone tell me how this is accomplished please?

Running the './httpd -l' script does not show the compiled module 'mod_proxy_ajp'. Is there a way I can enable mod_proxy_ajp withough having to recompile the Apache instance? Thanks.

What I am having a problem with is the line success: function(){ $('form#submit').hide(function(){$('div.success').fadeIn();}); It runs success even though we don't even know if the username and password binded successfully. Is there a way to only run success if the username and password posted was binded successfully?

However, since my datagridview control has relatively large number of columns, I need an auto scroll feature which follows the current drag-drop position so that users can see the destination column(s) before dropping. • Error while installing a .net setup executable locally

  Hello I have created a setup for my windows application in .NET 2008 After building the same i have the .msi and setup.exe files in my release folder. The problem i am facing is : I can install the application using the msi installer files from the shared network folder. But when i copy the installer locally and tried to install it, i get the following error: Error reading file.Please Try again.   Hi, I'm still not clear on how and when to use interface builder. I have a tabbar-based application, in which I added 6 navigations controllers. Instead of having 6 tabs, I would like 3 plus a "More" tab which allows the user to configure the tabs he wants. Is there any way to do that with IB ? And if not, how can I move from IB to a code-based tabbar (provided I already set up a class TabBarController which handles shouldAutoRotate:) Thanks in advance !

Unfortunately, I'm having a really hard time getting an idea of how worth it this book is -- and seeing as it's a Manning Early Access Program book (and therefore only currently available as a beta-version e-book), I can't take a look myself in a bookstore. Can anyone recommend this as a good (or less good) guide to getting up to speed with Mahout, and/or other sources that can supplement the Mahout website?

  Having a table with 60 columns, and 200 rows. Altering a BIT column from NULL to NOT NULL, now has a running execution time of over 3 hours. Why is this taking so long? This is the query that I'm execution: ALTER TABLE tbl ALTER COLUMN col BIT NOT NULL Is there a faster way to do it, besides creating a new column, updating it with values from the old column, then dropping the old column and renaming the new one? This is on MS SQL Server 2005.
