  • How to disable "back" button on my mouse?

    I have bought Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. It's working just as I want it except that "back" button on the right side. I constantly hit it with the thumb and browser goes back. I am not used to this behavior, since my older mouse didn't have such a button. I just want to get rid of it -- disable the button once and forever, so if I clicked it -- nothing should happen.

  • Google Chrome "This webpage is not available" error on Snow Leopard

    Hi, I'm using Snow Leopard and I've just downloaded Google Chrome for Mac. However it doesn't load any page: This webpage is not available. Error 104 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED): The attempt to connect to the server failed. I've googled about it but I had no luck, only answers for Windows. Needless to say I have no firewalls and every other browser or application can connect to the internet.

    I'm trying to do a really simple task - setup a virtual directory in Windows Server 2008. This is what I am doing but it's not working for some reason: Open IIS 7 Create a new virtual directory in Default Web Site and point it to a folder on d:\ drive Browse to folder on d:\ drive and create an .htm file with some test text in it Open a browser and navigate to http://localhost/TestSite/index.htm But I get a 404 - what gives?   • Where can I download copies of a Windows XP ISO image with Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7 for VirtualBox?

    I have Windows 7 Professional hosting Ubuntu inside VirtualBox for my development machine. To test my site, I run Internet Explorer and hit my Ubuntu box. This works great for Internet Explorer 8, the default browser on this Windows machine. I also want to run another VM with a copy of Windows XP with Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7. Where can I download ISO image files of old copies of Windows XP? I've looked in Internet Explorer Application Compatibility VPC Image and these only run in Virtual PC/XP Mode which won't run while VirtualBox is running. If I have to run VirtualBox (can't work without Ubuntu running the site), is there any way to test Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, and Internet Explorer 8 from the same Windows 7 machine?

    I'm considering using my 4 GB Kingston DataTraveler USB stick to store my Firefox and Thunderbird profiles for my laptop and desktop PCs. I want to maximize performance when using Firefox. The question is: what is the best file system and allocation size for the fastest Firefox profile operation on a USB flash drive? I'm using Windows 7 on both machines and I don't care about compatibility or the drive's lifetime. I just want to maximize performance. I could even use ext2 with the Ext2 IFS driver if that means it'll be faster. I'm assuming (perhaps I'm wrong) that putting a Firefox profile on a USB stick would be a "lots of small files" usage. In that case, it seems that NTFS would perform best, but I'm not sure. Besides I found nothing regarding the best allocation size to use. Considering that the default allocation size is designed for hard drives (which have different characteristics), I'm assuming that the default allocation size is not the best.

    I've apache2 server installed on a machine that connected to two different networks, therefore it has two different addresses: 192.168.1.111 (static ip on ethernet network) and 109.253.78.211. when connecting through 109.253.78.211 on the browser, the web pages are displayed perfectly, However, when connecting through 109.253.78.211 the web pages are displayed partially. I've not installed any firewalls. I'll really appreciate if you could redirect me to checks I should commit to reach the source of the problem. Thank you :)

    I have an application to install on Windows Server 2008, which is not natively supported by the installer. The application installer permits installation on Windows Vista(or XP, or 7). I do not want to use compatibility mode; even if I did it doesn't work. So, how can I spoof the installer to believe it is Windows Vista(or XP, or 7) so that it can proceed with the installation? Notes: This is an experimental machine, so I am not concerned about stability of the host or the application.

I know that IE has an option to print background but chrome does not .     I've generated rsa keys with cygwin ssh-keygen and copied them to the server with ssh-copy-id -i id_rsa.pub [email protected] I've got the following settings in my /etc/ssh/sshd_config file RSAAuthentication yes PubkeyAuthentication yes AuthorizedKeysFile .ssh/authorized_keys PermitRootLogin yes When I ssh [email protected] it still prompts for a password. I've read a bunch of web postings about permissions on files and directories, but nothing works. Is it possible to ssh with keys in RHEL 6.1 or is this forbidden?   • How do I make IE8 NOT delete temporary internet files?

    Every time I close Internet Explorer, all temporary files (including cookies) are deleted. IE has a setting for this (Tools Internet Options Advanced Security Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed) but the setting is turned off. I tried cycling it on and off again, with no luck. I can open the Temporary Internet Files folder and watch all the files vanish each time IE closes. How can I get the temporary files to stay where they belong?

  • Mac Air Bootcamp Windows 7 Installation and USB3 Hurdles

    I am trying to load windows 7 on a new Mac Air(OS X 10.9 Mavericks) using Boot camp, a downloaded windows 7 iso file, and USB3 flash drive. No obvious issues with stepping through the initial phases of boot camp and disc partition, but when the system reboots to load windows setup/install from the USB3 flash, it stalls after a few screens and gives a "missing cd/dvd drive" error. I have read similar posts regarding this fail that imply there is possibly a windows 7 compatibility concern with USB3, and that if a USB2 port is available....or if you can change your BIOS to make your USB3 look like USB2...then you can get around this error. Unfortunately I only have USB3 ports on this system, and it appears accessing the PC equivalent "BIOS" on the new Macs is very difficult....and if you screw it up you can ruin the system. Does anyone have any suggestions? I should also mention that there is NOT a CD/DVD drive on the Mac Air....and I can't migrate to Windows8 (for various reasons). Any help is much appreciated!!

  • Cannot access website from inside network

    I have a website running from my internal network available at the example IP 192.168.1.5. When I type this in to the browser, it redirects to my domain name ie, "example.com", and gives me Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Any other machine that is inside of the network can access the website. The website is also accessible outside of the network. Other services from the server, like file sharing or ftp, are available to all machines in the network including the one i'm having issues http issues with. The issue may be linked to a proxy service, but from my understanding the service has been completely disabled and any executable have been uninstalled from the machine. I am wondering if there is some residual proxy information remaining on the machine that limits the connection. I'm fairly positive that "example.com" is what is being blocked by the local machine, and not an IP address being blocked or a faulty connection. When I examine the hosts file, there are no redirects to the local machine for "example.com". There was a rule, as on my other machines within the network: 192.168.1.5 example.com But i have since removed that for troubleshooting purposes. What intrigued me is that when I use the actual IP, the IP address will redirect to the domain in the browser and THEN say ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Server-Side Results The server logs are reporting this: example.com ::1 - - [Date & time] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 126 "-" "Apache/2. 2.22 (Unix) (internal dummy connection)" However, this seems to be irrelevant as it is not triggered when I try to connect to the server with the specified machine. Fiddler results: Host: *example.com* Proxy-Connection: keep-alive Chrome-Side [Fiddler] The connection to 'example.com' failed. Error: ConnectionRefused (0x274d). System.Net.Sockets. SocketException No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 01.23.45.67:80 01.23.45.67:80 would be the external IP, which the server and the machine in question both share. I am doing so reading into 0x274d and its coming back with .NET web.config information. I am still at a loss to what to do with this information. I have WireShark running as well. Theres is a lot of sensitive information in the readout and I'm not sure what to extract from it. Either way, if it helps, I can access that information if anyone would like me to. When I try to open pages which are associated with Microsoft (like Live and others), my browser crashes; Internet Explorer 8 crashes too. But Opera (I've installed it later) works fine with those pages. P.S. I tried to scan my PC for trojans and viruses, but it's clean.

    Hi, I install apache, mysql, php and then phpmyadmin on ubuntu desktop 10.04 version I test apache: localhost with browser and its works. I test mysql with console and its works. I test phpmyadmin http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and get error 404 not found I see that solution for that brobem, copy /phpmyadmin/ to /www/, but I dont want to put in /www/ to my websites files (maybe I wrong or miss something-please tell me in this case). How this problem can be solved in the best way? Thanks

  • nginx probably deliering wrong filetype for .css file with php tags

    And again - NGINX is giving me many Questions today :) Like always, I already tried around for a while, but cant seem to fix this issue: I just configured NGINX to handle my .css files equal to my .php files (to parse PHP tags inside the CSS file). This works perfectly, and the file is found and delivered. I could debug it with FIrebug, and everything is OK (it displays the contents of the .css inside the opened <link> tag). So, everything working, right? Wrong. It has the CSS, but it does not interpret it! What I mean by this: apparently, the file-type of the CSS (or aplication-type, whatever) is wrong. The Page can access the CSS, but doesnt bother at all to actually use it. What I checked / tried: There are no PHP errors inside of the .css, so that one is out The .css is accessible.
