  • Simple cdd (custom debian distribution) problem

    Hi everyone, Im trying to make my own debian distribution but I have a problem. simple-cdd works fine but when I try to install my generated .iso, everything goes right since a message apears: " No installable kernel was found in the defined APT sources You may try to continue without a kernel. and manually install your kernel later. This is only recommended for experts, otheriwse you will likely end with a machine that dosent boot. COntinue Without installing a kernel? " And if y say yes, it continues... When is time to install grub it says: " Installation step failed An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item again from the menu, or skip it and choose something else. The failing step is: Install the GRUB boot loader on a hard disk " HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I have some class for ssh support - it uses jsch internally. My application connects to ssh, performs all needed operation in background thread and results are reported to gui, via events as shown above. But nothing works after user change device orientation. It's clear for me - activity is re-created and all state is lost. Unfortunately, my SshSupport class object is lost as well. It's pretty easy to store gui state for dynamically changed/added objects (using put/get serializable etc methods). But I have no idea how to prevent my ssh object, ssh connected session being lost. Since my class is not serializable, I can't save it to bundle. Also, even if I make my SshSupport class serializable, jsch objects it uses still are not serializable. So what is the best way to solve this?

It uses this: ... ReflectionUtils.makeAccessible(ctor); return ctor.newInstance(args); Here's the problem: My entities are Spring managed beans. The reason for this is to inject DAOs on them. Instead of calling new, I use EntityFactory.createEntity(). When they're retrieved from the database, I have an interceptor that overrides the public Object instantiate(String entityName, EntityMode entityMode, Serializable id) method and hooks the factories into that. So the last piece of the puzzle missing here is how to force Spring to use the factory rather than its own BeanUtils reflective approach? Any suggestions for a clean solution?     I want to make a window without the top taskbar (that is movable), so there is only thin outline around the GUI box. The following are the restrictions: The classes SURFACE and CURVE are from 3rd party libraries and hence unmodifiable. (If it helps they are both derived from IDispatch) There are even more similar classes (e.g. FACE) that could fit into this "template" (not C++ template, just the flow of lines of code) I know the following could (possibly?) be implemented as solutions but am really hoping there is a better solution: I could add a 3rd parameter to the 2 methods - e.g. an enum - that identifies the 1st parameter (e.g. enum::input_type_surface, enum::input_type_curve) I could pass in an IDispatch and try dynamic_cast< and test which cast is NON_NULL and do an if-else to call the right method (e.g. getPlaneParams() vs. get_LineParams()) The following is not a restriction but would be a requirement because of my teammates resistance: Not implement a new class that inherits from SURFACE/CURVE etc. (They would much prefer to solve it using the enum solution I stated above)

  • Android: how do i custom arrange menu items?

    I would like to arrange the menu items in my app so that one item appears in its own line, and the other 3 items appear below it. I know that this is possible because i have seen apps do it. I tried writing a menu xml with linear layouts to arrange the items, but this doesnt work. I have also tried putting them in different groups, but I had no luck with that either. I know that this is possible: i have seen it done. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Eclipse + CVS use custom commit

    Hi All, My admin has set up the "cvs commit" in a very non traditional way, instead of typing "cvs commit" I use the admin provided "scriptname modified file" to checkin the file to CVS. I am using Eclipse to my day to day work and till now I am using the Eclipse CVS Plugin to checkout the repo,update,compare,etc and use the command line to checkin. I am getting annoyed by having to go to command line to do the commit, is there any way I can make Eclipse accept when I say commit it invokes the admin script instead of "cvs commit" ? I spoke to Admin and moving the under the cvs pre-commit hooks is not an option. What can I do ? I know fair amount of "Java" I am willing to do some changes to CVS plugin if I know how and where.   • How to list all items in custom taxonomy with a permanlink in Wordpress

    Hi, Not sure how to word this. I've set up a type in Wordpress called Products. I also have two taxonomies linked to Products called Brands and Categories. When you create a product you can set to which Brand and Category the product belong to. It works perfectly when using the type as permalink to list everything within a type http://sitename.com/products but I can't seem to get the taxonomies working in the same way, ie. list all the items within a taxonomy (like an archive, I suppose): http://sitename.com/brands http://sitename.com/categories Is this possible, and if so, what could I possibly be doing wrong? I would try and set up some rewrite rules in functions.php, but I don't know what the query string looks like if you want to list items in a taxonomy, and if this is even possible. If it helps, I'm using the plugins More Types and Ultimate Taxonomy Manager to create the types and taxonomies.

    For this website we're working on, we're trying to get the most popular topics (based on how many posts have been made in them within the last 24 hours). We have a medium to large based forum, and the current MySQL query looks like this: SELECT `forums_topics`.*, ( SELECT COUNT(`id`) FROM `forums_posts` WHERE `postdate` > (UNIX_TIMESTAMP()-60*60*24) AND `topicid`=`forums_topics`.`id` ) AS `trendy_threads` FROM `forums_topics` WHERE `deleted`=0 ORDER BY `trendy_threads` DESC,`postdate` DESC LIMIT 3 This unfortunately causes an SQL timeout with just one query and Error 500's. How can we get this information as quickly and as efficiently as possible?

  • Custom API requirement

    We are currently working on an API for an existing system. It basically wraps some web-requests as an easy-to-use library that 3rd party companies should be able to use with our product. As part of the API, there is an event mechanism where the server can call back to the client via a constantly-running socket connection. To minimize load on the server, we want to only have one connection per computer. Currently there is a socket open per process, and that could eventually cause load problems if you had multiple applications using the API. So my question is: if we want to deploy our API as a single standalone assembly, what is the best way to fix our problem? A couple options we thought of: Write an out of process COM object (don't know if that works in .Net) Include a second exe file that would be required for events, it would have to single-instance itself, and open a named pipe or something to communicate through multiple processes Extract this exe file from an embedded resource and execute it None of those really seem ideal. Any better ideas?

    I was playing with progress bar customization in Silverlight application. What I want to reach is to have progress bar label to show current its state in the following format: "Value / Maximum". So, user will see what is the current value, and what is the maximum possible value. It does work properly, if it is written like above. However, I also need to provide ConverterParameter for Convertor, but not sure how to make it. When I write like this: , ConvertParameter={Binding Maximum}, it shows error on start, that Text attribute is not found in TextBlock. I was also trying to set DataContext as {RelativeSource Self}, but then it didn't displays error that DataContext attribute is not found. How to make the described progress bar label properly?

  • Problems using Custom Layout in XML

    I've created a new GridLayout class that I want to use in an XML File. The class is in another project. I've created the attrs.xml file in the other project with my properties but when the constructor gets called with the AttributeSet, none of the values are set. In my xml for my screen layout, I refer to the layout with the following: xmlns:gridLayout="@com.mastertechsoftware.AndroidUtil:http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.mastertechsoftware.AndroidUtil" Not sure if that is right. I have the attrs.xml file being compiled to R.java in com/mastertechsoftware/AndroidUtil. All the right styleable values are there. In my constructor, I use: TypedArray a = c .obtainStyledAttributes(attrs, R.styleable.GridLayout); this.numRows = a.getInt(R.styleable.GridLayout_numRows, -1); Nothing comes back (-1 does but that means nothing is there) If I use int n = a.getIndexCount(); I get 0.

I am compiling under JDK 1.5 Take this line as an example that I read from standard input: ab:Some string po:bubblegum What I would like to do is split by the two characters and colon. That is, once the line is split and put into a string array, these should be the terms: ab:Some string po:bubblegum I have this regex right now: String[] split = input.split("[..:]"); This splits at the semicolon; what I would like is for it to match two characters and a semicolon, but split at the space before that starts. Is this even possible? Here is the output from the string array: ab Some String po bubblegum I've read about Pattern.compile() as well. Is this something I should be considering?

  • Zend license restrictions with modified code

    If I'm to take parts of Zend Framework and changed them (add something, remove...), and then changed it's name, for example Zend_Config to My_Config or Zend_Application_Bootstrap to My_Application_Bootstrap, and then distribute such a code with a commercial license would I then be violating Zend's licence? If that is not an option, what can I do then? Do I need to use their code "as is" without changes if I want do distribute it with my commercial application? Tnx :)

    Hi, I have followed some advices I got here today and would need a bit more help now: I have an user control with login logic. In mainForm I am using this: private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { LoginScreen login = new MainMenu(); login.Parent = this; login.Dock = DockStyle.Fill; login.Show(); } But I guess it is not modal and thus does not stop the original Form application. Sure I would need the main Form to do not continue until the login form is closed (and login sucessfull). Would using an event correct? Let login object to raise an event that login was successfull and let the MainForm handle it - run the app?
