  I've been spending the past 3 days trying to fix this problem I'm encountering - it's driving me insane... I'm still pretty new with mvc but was using this tutorial The application builds fine.. however when I try to add a controller using Product (BTD.Data) as my model class and BTDContext (BTD.DataContext) as my data context class I receive the following error: Unable to retrieve metadata for BTD.Data.Product using the same DbCompiledModel to create context against different types of database servers is not supported. Instead, create a separate DbCompiledModel for each type of server being used. I am at a complete loss - I've scoured google with almost every different variation of that error message above I can think of but to no avail. Here are the things i can verify... MySql is working properly I'm using MySql Connector version 6.5.4 and have created other ASP.net web forms + entity framework applications with ZERO problems I have also tried including/removing this in my web.config: <system.data> <DbProviderFactories> <remove invariant="MySql.Data.MySqlClient"/> <add name="MySQL Data Provider" invariant="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" description=".Net Framework Data Provider for MySQL" type="MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlClientFactory, MySql.Data, Version=6.5.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d" /> </DbProviderFactories> I've literally been working on this bug for days - I'm to the point now that I would be willing to pay someone to solve it.. no joke... I'd really love to use MVC 4 and Razor - I was so excited to get started on this, but now i'm pretty discouraged - I truly appreciate any help/guidance on this! Also note - i'm using Entityframework from Nuget... Another Note I was using the default visual studio template that creates your MVC project with the account pages and other stuff. I JUST removed all references to the added files because they were trying to use the "DefaultConnection" which didn't exist - so i thought those files may be what was causing the error - however still no luck after removing them - I just wanted to let everyone know i'm using the visual studio MVC project template which pre-creates a bunch of files. I will be trying to recreate this all from a blank MVC project which doesn't have those files - i will update this once i test that Other References It appears someone else is having the same issues I am - the only difference is they are using sql server - I tried tweaking all my code to follow the suggestions on this stackoverflow question/answer here but still to no avail

• Webcam api error when accessed from ASP.NET Server-side code

  I'm tring to use webcam api with asp.net and C#. I included all the library and references I needed for that. the original code I'm use was for windows application and I'm trying to convert it to asp.net web application. • Firefox and TinyMCE 3.4.9 won't play nice together

  I've submitted a bug to the tinyMCE people, but i'm hoping someone else has come across this and has a suitable workaround. Here's the situation: I've got a form with a tinyMCE control that i load into a jquery dialog. it works great the first time, then after they close it, and open a new one. any interaction with the tinyMCE control gives: "Node cannot be used in a document other than the one in which it was created" it also doesn't fill the control with the text it's supposed to be prepopulated with. I have tried the suggestion from aknosis with no luck. EDIT: I originally thought this only affected firefox 11, but i have downloaded 10, and it is also affected.   The file succeed to upload when it is 2KB or lower in size. The main reason why I use streaming is to be able to upload file up to at least 1 GB. But when I try to upload file with less 1MB size, I get bad request. It is my first time to deal with downloading and uploading process, so I can't easily find the cause of error.   I'm trying to render some text into a specific part of an image in a Web Forms app. The text will be user entered, so I want to vary the font size to make sure it fits within the bounding box. I have code that was doing this fine on my proof-of-concept implementation, but I'm now trying it against the assets from the designer, which are larger, and I'm getting some odd results. Firstly, the text sometimes insists on wrapping by inserting a line-break within a word, when it should just fail to fit and cause the while loop to decrement again. I can't see why it is that Graphics.MeasureCharacterRanges thinks that this fits within the box when it shouldn't be word-wrapping within a word. This behaviour is exhibited irrespective of the character set used (I get it in Latin alphabet words, as well as other parts of the Unicode range, like Cyrillic, Greek, Georgian and Armenian). Is there some setting I should be using to force Graphics.MeasureCharacterRanges only to be word-wrapping at whitespace characters (or hyphens)? This first problem is the same as post 2499067. Secondly, in scaling up to the new image and font size, Graphics.MeasureCharacterRanges is giving me heights that are wildly off. The RectangleF I am drawing within corresponds to a visually apparent area of the image, so I can easily see when the text is being decremented more than is necessary. Yet when I pass it some text, the GetBounds call is giving me a height that is almost double what it's actually taking. Using trial and error to set the __minimumSize to force an exit from the while loop, I can see that 24pt text fits within the bounding box, yet Graphics.MeasureCharacterRanges is reporting that the height of that text, once rendered to the image, is 122px (when the bounding box is 64px tall and it fits within that box). Indeed, without forcing the matter, the while loop iterates to 18pt, at which point Graphics.MeasureCharacterRanges returns a value that fits. I could understand it being, say, the line height of the font if the loop stopped around 21pt (which would visually fit, if I screenshot the results and measure it in Paint.Net), but it's going far further than it should be doing because, frankly, it's returning the wrong damn results. • Using only alphanumeric characters(a-z) inside toCharArray

  Below you will find me using toCharArray in order to send a string to array. I then MOVE the value of the letter using a for statement... for(i = 0; i < letter.length; i++){ letter[i] += (shiftCode); System.out.print(letter[i]); } However, when I use shiftCode to move the value such as... a shifted by -1; I get a symbol @. Is there a way to send the string to shiftCode or tell shiftCode to ONLY use letters? I need it to see my text, like "aaron", and when I use the for statement iterate through a-z only and ignore all symbols and numbers. I THINK it is as simple as... letter=codeWord.toCharArray(a,z); But trying different forms of that and googling it didn't give me any results. Perhaps it has to do with regex or something? I also tried finding instructions online for toCharArray but if there exists any arguments I can't locate them. I placed a second method button on the form so I can write a different set of code into the app if I feel like it. Only minimal error handling and safeguards are there is nothing that wasn't necessary for debugging this via source. I tried this on a Sony Memory Stick using a PSP as the reader because I cant find the adapter for using a duo in my machine. The target is an MS and half of my users use a PSP for a reader half dont. However this should work fine on SD cards and that is a secondary target for my work as well. I tried this on a usb memory card reader and several SD cards. Now that I have fixed my attempt I get an error returned. 50 ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED The request is not supported. I have found an application that uses this API as well as alot of related functions for what I am trying todo. I am getting ready to look into it the application is called DriveImage and its source is here - http://sourceforge.net/projects/diskimage/ The only thing I have really noticed from that application is there use of TFileStream and using that to get a handle on the physical disk.

• Error using CreateFileMapping - C

  Hello, I am using the tutorial on this MSDN link to implement a way of transferring data from one process to another. Although I was advised in an earlier question to use the Pipe methods, due to certain constraints I have no choice but to use the CreateFileMapping method. Now, i've succesfully managed to make two seperate window form projects within the same solution and by editing some properties both of the forms load at the same time. Furthermore I have managed to implement the code given in the MSDN sample into the first (Producer) and second (Consumer) program without any compilation errors. The problem I am having now is when I run the first program and try to create the handle to the mapped file, I am given an error saying it was unsuccesful and I do not understand why this is happening. I have added both the Producer and Consumer code files to demonstrate what I am trying to do. But it gets bad if you try to put breakpoint into the event. Why? I mean event is not run in the same thread that the windows hook is. That means that It shouldn't block HookCallback. It does however... I would really like to know why is this happening. My theory is that Visual Studio when breaking execution temporarily stops all threads and that means that HookCallback is blocked... Is there any book or valuable resource that would explain concepts behind all of this threading?

  I have this code below and want it to show the progress of a form submission of a file upload. I want it to work on my website visit it through this IP (24.148.156.217). • Scrollbar still is painted after it should be removed

  I have the following custom control and can place on a form (with AutoScroll set to true and the control anchored left, top and right). If the form is too short for the control, the form correctly resizes the control (to make room for the scroll) and displays the scroll bar. When the control is closed using the close glyph, the control is resized and the scroll bar is removed, but occasionally the scroll bar appears to remain painted. If the form is minimized or moved off-screen, the leftover paint is removed. I've tried Parent.Invalidate and have toyed with it in many ways but to no avail. Any suggestions?
