As I know the environment, they are using MySQL , MS-Access and SQL Server with different applications. • Squibbly Update: Multiple Document Support

  An update on Squibbly, the recently announced free and open source integration framework for LibreOffice! Now multiple documents can be opened at the same time, either from "File | Open File" or from the File Browser (i.e., the rebranded Favorites window). Click to enlarge the image below to get a fuller perspective on Squibbly: Take note of the tabs at the bottom of the editor-area in the screenshot above, and especially when you click the image to enlarge it. Multiple tabs are available at the same time, each representing a different open document. Click a different tab and its document is activated and brought to the front of the application. That means multiple LibreOffice applications can be used simultaneously, each could be undocked from the frame of the application, and the user can work with multiple documents, from multiple LibreOffice applications, all at the same time. • Changing read-write permissions on my external Seagate hard drive

  I have an external hard drive (Seagate Free Agent) that I normally download files to. I have a dual boot Ubuntu 11.10 along with Windows 7-64 bit. I can read all of my files in my external HD perfectly, but when I attempt to do a download of a file to this drive, I get an "unable to write because of read only" disk error. When I attempt to change the permissions of the disk through the "Properties" bar, I still get an error that I don't have the proper permissions to change permissions. I have heard of "mounting" the disk, but I am afraid of mistakenly reformatting and destroying all the data that I have currently on that drive. How best should I safely change the permissions on that drive so that I can write and download files to the drive?? The drive is listed under /dev/sdc1.

• VirtualBox - Install Windows 7 freeze on expading files

  I'm using Kubuntu 12.10. I have the latest version of VirtualBox(4.2.4) with expansions installed and guest addition also. I'm trying to install Windows 7 but it freezes at the second step: expanding files (random percent). I even tried to install Vista but is happening the same thing. Is there a bug? Do you happen to know a workaround? Or at least there is another free virtual machine I can use to install win 7?

  I am writing the documentation for a piece of software which I have made but I don't understand what it means in some aspects. It asks me to write about backup procedures but what exactly does this mean? Does this mean like backing up the database on another hosting service or something else entirely? I am dumbfounded by what troubleshooting guidelines are as well. If you have any idea what this could mean feel free to give your insight even if you aren't 100% sure in case it could spark what it means inside of me. Thanks.

  If I create a mobile turn-based game which could consist from 2 up to 6 players. I expect the server to support for about hundreds of game. And I aim for something free and not costly technology. What software and hardware recommendation would be enough for me? I've found some game server engine such as photon. But is it too much for a simple game? I'm thinking of using REST technology with F3 PHP server and Mysql. Will it be adequate? Will only one physical server enough? What is the hardware recommendation for the server?

• Can I install Ubuntu 12.04 on MacBook 6.1 (Late 2009) on my external hard drive?

  I have no experience in installing Linux based OS on MacBook, but I already have Windows installed on my Mac. I read some articles saying I can have the Lucid Lynx installed in my Macbook 6.1 and luckily I already got the CD (which was distributed for free back then haha), my question is that can I have the 12.04 installed instead of the 10.04 and what do I need to do that? I also would like to know can I install it on my external hard drive just like installing it on a usb stick? I have viewed the how-to for installing the Lucid Lynx, is it just the same? • How to reduce the time it takes to load my web game? [closed]

  I created a puzzle game with Unity and uploaded it to one server. This works fine, but I bought a new server and uploaded my game to it as well. There, the loading time is much longer. These are the servers: http://pinheadsinteractive.com/Mozzie/ (fast) http://operation-mozzie-free.com/ (slow) The Unity files are exactly the same from one server to the next. My client is dissatisfied with the new, slow loading time. So, how can I reduce the time my Unity game takes to load? Even in some cases they faced the problem that they could not load the game at all. For the the moment, I'm using an iframe on the new sever as a workaround, but the issue still remains unsolved.

• Get the Windows 7 Start Menu Back in Windows 8 with Classic Shell

  I just thought I’d give readers a heads up that you can use Classic Shell to get the old Windows 7 style of start menu back instead of using the new crappy Windows 8 metro start screen; plus it’s free and open source .  You can still access the metro start screen with Shift+WindowsKey or Shift clicking the start menu button.  This program also defaults to showing the desktop on startup instead of the metro start screen (but that can be disabled), and is super configurable and has tons of options to tweak it just the way you want if you are picky like me   The only thing I would say is when installing the app, only install the Classic Start Menu; you don’t need the other ones. • Ubuntu will not start any more !!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP?

  I really need help , I left my computer downloading all the night and i did donwload 35 go of movies ( legal ....) , I restart the computed in the morning then i booted in my encrypted windows partition for my work. Surprise in the evening when i try to boot on linux again , then it doesnt start as it's telling me low graphic mode , and doesnt boot( happen when it's really full ) . Tryed in rescue and it's telling me i have 0 mo free. Tryed in shell comand sdo root rm - Some files IMPOSSIBLE . it's telling me that my files are only in read only file systems. I mouted my other hard drive in windows as well but there is a '' Write protection '' i can only read the files. Please let me know , what solution do i have ? Should i try live usb with ubuntu ? Thanks guys
