• Looping through worksheets in an Excel (xls) file using classic ASP on a win 2008 server

  Hi, I have just migrated an older ASP solution to a windows 2008 server and everything works out fine except for using ADOX.Catalog to list all the worksheets in an uploaded xls file.   Hello Everyone, I developed an application using VS 2008 and MS Access2007 and it works fine. Now have to make a setup of it(this is my first project). I gone through many tutorials about deployment, I tried VS 2008 setup and deployment, but after installation it only runs in my machine and not in others..sometimes it shows error(The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine(that machine had both VS2008 and MS Access installed)). I been a week since, i tried what i can and still trying, cant believe that i am strucked here, nothing seems to work. Please help... • Computing unique index for every poker starting hand

  As there are 52 cards in a deck we know there are 52 choose 2 = 1326 distinct matchups, however in preflop poker this can be bucketed into 169 different hands such as AK offsuit and AK suited as whether it is A hearts K hearts or A spade K spades it makes no difference preflop. My question is, is there a nice mathematical property in which I can uniquely index each of these 169 hands (from 0 to 168 preferably). I am trying to create a look up table as a double[][] = new double [169][169] but have no way of changing a hand representation such as AKs (an Ace and a King of the same suit) to a unique index in this array.

Additionally, any of these numbers (and any preceding .) may be missing. So the following are valid and parse as: 1.23.456 = version 1, release 23, modification 456 1.23 = version 1, release 23, any modification 1.23.* = version 1, release 23, any modification 1.* = version 1, any release, any modification 1 = version 1, any release, any modification * = any version, any release, any modification But these are not valid: *.12 *123.1 12* 12.*.34 Can anyone provide me a not-too-complex regex to validate and retrieve the release, version and modification numbers? • APC uptime 0 because of Fast

  I have a VPS using Parallels/Plesk (11.0.9 Update #22, last updated at Oct 31, 2012 03:33 AM CentOS 6.3 (Final) x86_64) I have apache (CGI/FastCGI) installed and nginx as reverse proxy. Everything is working just fine. I installed APC for caching, but the issue is that the uptime is 0 always. It's restarting each 15 seconds or so. I checked everywhere and can't find a solution to fix it. The server have the grace restart enabled, but every 6 hours, which shouldn't influence the APC uptime. Searching in Google I found that this could be related to Apache, running with FCGId instead of FastCGI. Plesk/Apache is using this config file: usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/default/service/php_over_fastcgi.php which content is: <IfModule mod_fcgid.c> <Files ~ (\.php)> SetHandler fcgid-script FCGIWrapper <?php echo $VAR->server->webserver->apache->phpCgiBin ?> .p$ Options +ExecCGI allow from all </Files> Is here the issue or elsewhere ? How can I fix this to work with FastCGI and make APC working properly. I forgot to specify that even if the uptime is below one minute, APC is doing pretty good job caching (92% are hits).

I'm trying to write a component that shows a tree of folders & was curious if there was a prebuilt curses component that could do this. I've checked 'core' curses as well as libraries like CDK - and I can't seem to find anything.   I want to combine multiple lists of items into a single list, retaining the overall order requirements. i.e.: 1: A C E 2: D E 3: B A D result: B A C D E above, starting with list 1, we have ACE, we then know that D must come before E, and from list 3, we know that B must come before A, and D must come after B and A. If there are conflicting orderings, the first ordering should be used. i.e. 1: A C E 2: B D E 3: F D result: A C B D E F 3 conflicts with 2, therefore requirements for 2 will be used. If ordering requirements mean an item must come before or after another, it doesn't matter if it comes immediately before or after, or at the start or end of the list, as long as overall ordering is maintained. This is being developed using VB.Net, so a LINQy solution (or any .Net solution) would be nice - otherwise pointers for an approach would be good.

• computer fails to boot during/after POST for five or six boots, then works

  For the last few days, my computer has had issues booting. I've seen two different behaviors: The screen displays the graphics card information, then begins to list the RAM, hard drives, etc. At different points in this process (after the graphics info), the computer shuts off. After five or six attempts, it then boots normally. In roughly the same time frame, the computer freezes, and fails to boot. I think it boots successfully on the next attempt. I've also noticed that in some instances, the computer freezes on shutdown. It gets right to the point where it should shut off, but doesn't. I recently combined the best parts of two different machines into this one. I'm booting to GRUB, with Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 11 and Windows Vista (unfortunately) as my OS options. It has an Enermax Modu82+ 525W power supply, and I've used an online calculator to determine that my load shouldn't exceed 400W. I even unplugged a hard drive, but that didn't help. I found the latest BIOS, patched it and checked the settings, but that didn't fix it. I'm fairly certain this issue didn't exist at first, but might have started when the power at my new apartment dropped for a second. The machine is plugged into a surge protector strip, but it's old and I've heard they lose effectiveness with age. Is a power dip as damaging as a spike? If something were damaged, why would it boot successfully after five or six attempts? It's almost like the BIOS or PSU need to be primed. The trouble with debugging is that there seems to be a "grace period" after shutdown where the issue doesn't present itself again. What should I try next?

  So need to check if a string's characters are ascending alphabetically and if that ascent is evenly spaced. a = "abc" b = "ceg" So a is alphabetically ascending and it's spacing is 1 (if you convert to the ordinal values they are 97,98,99). And b is also alphabetically ascending and it's spacing is 2 (99,101,103).   Hi All I noticed that on the category list page, the number of reviews (pulled from frontend/base/default/template/review/helper/summary_short.phtml) lists the full amount of reviews for an item, not the amount available to the store view you’re on. So, for example (using the sample data) the Samsung MM-A900M Ace has 5 reviews - however, when you click that link and are taken to the reviews page, it actually just has 2 (as only 2 are available to the English view). But on the reviews page, the review count is correct and says 2 reviews (this time pulled from frontend/base/default/template/review/product/view/count.phtml). Is there any way to use this review count on the category list?

  Unfortunately, I am old enough to remember, and now to admit that I really loved, the movie Top Gun. You know the one - Tom Cruise, US Navy F-14 ace pilot, Mr Maverick, crisis of confidence, meets woman, etc., etc. Anyway, one of more memorable lines (there were a few) was: "I feel the need, the need for speed." I was reminded of Tom Cruise recently. Paraphrasing a certain Senior Vice President talking about Oracle Fusion Applications and user experience at an all-hands meeting, I heard that: Applications can never be too easy to use. Performance can never be too fast. Developers, assume that your code is always "on". Perfect. You cannot overstate the user experience importance of application speed to users, or at least their perception of speed. We all want that super speed of execution and performance, and increasingly so as enterprise users bring the expectations of consumer IT into the work environment. Sten Vesterli (@stenvesterli), an Oracle Fusion Applications User Experience Advocate, also addressed the speed point artfully at an Oracle Usability Advisory Board meeting in Geneva. Sten asked us that when we next Googled something, to think about the message we see that Google has found hundreds of thousands or millions of results for us in a split second (for example, About 8,340,000 results (0.23 seconds)). Now, how many results can we see and how many can we use immediately? Yet, this simple message communicating the total results available to us works a special magic about speed, delight, and excitement that Google has made its own in the search space. And, guess what? The Oracle Application Development Framework table component relies on a similar "virtual performance boost", says Sten, when it displays the first 50 records in a table, and uses a scrollbar indicating the total size of the data record set. The user scrolls and the application automatically retrieves more records as needed. Application speed and its perception by users is worth bearing in mind the next time you're at a customer site and the IT Department demands that you retrieve every record from the database. • Introducing the New Face of Fusion Applications

  By Misha Vaughan and Kathy Miedema, Oracle Applications User Experience At OpenWorld 2012, the Oracle Applications User Experience (UX) team unveiled the new face of Fusion Applications. You may have seen it in sessions presented by Chris Leone, Anthony Lye, Jeremy Ashley or others, or you may have gotten a look on the demogrounds. This screenshot shows the new Oracle Fusion Applications entry experience.Why are we delivering a new face for Fusion Applications? Because, says Ashley, the vice president of the Oracle Applications User Experience team, we want to provide a simple, modern, productive way for users to complete their top quick-entry tasks. The idea is to provide a clear, productive user experience that is backed by the full functionality of Fusion Applications. The first release of the new face of Fusion focuses on three types of users. It provides a fully functional gateway to Fusion Applications for: New and casual users who need quick access to self-service tasks Professional users who need fast access to quick-entry, high-volume tasks Users who are looking for a way to quickly brand their portal for employees The new face of Fusion allows users to move easily from navigation to action, Ashley said, and it has been designed for any device -- Mac, PC, iPad, Android, SmartBoard -- in the browser. The Oracle Fusion Applications Employee Directory. How did we build it? The new face of Fusion essentially is a custom shell, developed by the Apps UX team, and a set of page templates that embodies a simple design aesthetic. It’s repeatable, providing consistency across its pages, and requires little to zero training. More specifically, the new face of Fusion has been built on ADF. The Applications UX team created pages in JDeveloper using local tasks flows bound to existing view objects. Three new components were commissioned from ADF, and existing Fusion components were re-skinned to deliver a simple, modern user experience. It really is that simple – and to prove that point, we’ve been sharing our story around the new face of Fusion on several Oracle channels such as this one. Want to know more?
