  I am writing a number of static libraries for the iPhone and wish also to have suites of unit tests. XCode 3 provides templates for both static libraries and unit tests but I am wondering how they should fit together in a static library project? In my static library project I have created a target for unit testing but expect to also create an executable to kick off the unit tests than run against the classes in the static library.   I have heard developers say that people who write code should not be the ones testing it. I am looking for peoples experience in this situation. Many times I have done my share of development, then released to the QA dept and had the code sent back to me becuase some aspect of the application was broken due to my coding, regardless of how much I had tested it prior to QA release. Does anyone on this board have a process to follow, that enables them to throughly test their code before releasing to QA?

The changes in this release are: Addition of FTP adapter macros to the base macros and File adapter macros. Fix for the issue of garbage collection of data streams within pipelines as discussed in this previous blog entry. Now looks for OutboundTransportType in addition to InboundTransportType to pick up send port transport type; Therefore changed %InboundTransportType% macro to %TransportType%.   I have just tried setup unit testing in Flash Builder 4, and it working nicely. A setup of a parallel test source structure and using Flash Builder 4:s new TestCase and new TestSuite I was up and running with some testcases within minutes. But now I want to compile them from a ant flex task, the Flash Builder generates FlexUnitApplication.mxml and FlexUnitCompilerApplication.mxml. Is there a nice way to build the unit tests with ant using these? I cant find any sample where this is done.
