  • Android Plugin in Eclipse 3.5 on Ubuntu 64bit got problems with properties

    Hi there! I got a huge problem with the Android Development Tools ADT running in Eclipse Galileo (3.5.1) on Ubuntu 9.10, 64bit. On this platform, I do not manage to see any property edit dialogs for layout properties. E.g. the one where you can select a string resource ID for text fields, or a drawable ID for image fields or backgrounds. Whenever I click on the ... button next to the property value - nothing happens, except this button disappears. Properties with a list of possible values, e.g. "wrap_content" or "fill_parent" are displayed in a dropdown box directly in the properties field. On a different system I work in a Windows environment with Eclipse 3.4 and the same ADT: no problems whatsoever, everything works fine, the dialogs come perfectly. Does anyone know what to do here? Where's the problem? Why does Eclipse not tell me that something goes wrong? Thanks! NEW DISCOVERIES: I found out that it might not even be an Android problem, but a general Eclipse problem that I can see with all version (Ganymede, Galileo, Helios) on my Linux (Ubuntu) system. It must be a simple UI problem: the button with ... next to the values does not receive the mouse click!! I managed to see the appropriate dialogs to edit the property values by doubleclicking the button - crazy, strange, ugly behavior! But why on earth does nobody else know about this problem - I cannot find anything else on the net about it! Could it be related to this strange "GDK native window problem" on Gnome? HELP!

I've been using a simple html page and running my code in script tags so I can log my results in the browsers' console. When experimenting with loops I sometimes cause the browser to crash. Is there a better environment for me to do this kind of development?

The application loads in a different activity / view, but I want it to begin to download the webpage in the background as soon as the app launches, before the user ever clicks on that tab and initiates that activity. The requirements are: Written in C (small footprint) Support Dynamic HTML Support Java script Minimum dependencies on the libraries (although i understand that it can not be completely standalone) No Dependency on X11 (i.e working with direct frame qui libraries) So far i only found Embedded Konqueror. Any suggestions are welcomed, commercial solutions are OK, but open source is preferable.

My problem at the very first time my action is being invoked. The selectionChanged method is called only after the menu item has been displayed (and not when the user has made the selection) which means that the call to a.setEnabled() will have no affect. Any ideas on how to make my action receive selectionChanged() notifications even before the fist time it is being invoked?

    org.codehaus.mojo weblogic-maven-plugin 2.9.1 We're currently using the weblogic maven plugin successfully to deploy to our local WebLogic 9.2 instances. When we try to deploy to a remote environment we have a problem. We use a two machine cluster, with the admin server and managed server on one machine, and another managed server on a seperate machine. When your plugin uploads the application to the admin server, it doesn't copy it to the second managed server on the seperate machine. This then causes the second managed server a problem, as it cannot find the application in the location where the admin server saved it on its own machine. I know it's super easy in jquery with $(document).width and $document.height, but I don't want to add the size of the jquery lib to the project, so I'd rather just use built in javascript. What would be the short and efficient way to do the same thing with javascript?
