• Cannot parse persistence unit from class path resource

  so I have this problem in running my Spring WS app which implements JPA ( or should implement..) I have a problem with running a WS, it looks like my Spring context can't find file persistence.xml Which i am able to believe because i did not have generated META-INF folder in my template (which is Maven project template with archetype org.springframework.ws) I have created META-INF manually.   I have a very weird problem. But its not it maps to the table just fine. And the same code works on DEV. Also the jndi cannot be incorrect since it deploys and works fine initially but throws uo this error after a restart. • Parsing a .NET DataSet returned from a .NET Web Service in Java

  I have to consume a .NET hosted web service from a Java application. Interoperability between the two is usually very good. The problem I'm running into is that the .NET application developer chose to expose data using the .NET DataSet object. When you generate a proxy for something like this with anything other than .NET you basically end up with an object that looks like this: @XmlElement(namespace = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema", required = true) protected Schema schema; @XmlAnyElement(lax = true) protected Object any; This first field is the actual schema that should describe the DataSet. When I process this using JAX-WS and JAXB in Java, it bring all of XS-Schema in as Java objects to be represented here. Walking the object tree of JAXB is possible but not pretty. The any field represents the raw XML for the DataSet that is in the schema specified by the schema. The structure of the dataset is pretty consistent but the data types do change. I need access to the type information and the schema does vary from call to call. I've though of a few options but none seem like 'good' options. Trying to generate Java objects from the schema using JAXB at runtime seems to be a bad idea. This would be way too slow since it would need to happen everytime. Brute force walk the schema tree using the JAXB objects that JAX-WS brought in. Maybe instead of using JAXB to parse the schema it would be easier to deal with it as XML and use XPath to try and find the type information I need. Are there other options I have not considered? Is there a Java library to parse DataSet objects easily? What have other people done who may have similar situations?

• Query an XmlDocument without getting a 'Namespace prefix is not defined' problem

  I've got an Xml document that both defines and references some namespaces. I load it into an XmlDocument object and to the best of my knowledge I create a XmlNamespaceManager object with which to query Xpath against. Problem is I'm getting XPath exceptions that the namespace "my" is not defined. How do I get the namespace manager to see that the namespaces I am referencing are already defined. Or rather how do I get the namespace definitions from the document to the namespace manager. Furthermore tt strikes me as strange that you have to provide a namespace manager to the document which you create from the documents nametable in the first place. Even if you need to hardcode manual namespaces why can't you add them directly to the document. Why do you always have to pass this namespace manager with every single query? What can't XmlDocument just know? Is it posiible to validate only fo elements against the schema, ignoring xsl tags, and how should I do it? Maybe a code snnippet in C#, or a hint how to modify documents? Thanks in advance!

• Where to put default-servlet-handler in Spring MVC configuration

  In my web.xml, the default servlet mapping, i.e. /, is mapped to Spring dispatcher. In my Spring dispatcher configuration, I have DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping, ControllerClassNameHandlerMapping and AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter which allows me to map url to controllers either by its class name or its @Requestmapping annotation. However, there are some static resources under the web root which I also want spring dispatcher to serve using default servlet. According to Spring documentation, this can be done using <mvc:default-servlet-handler/> tag. In the configuration below, there are 4 candidate locations that I marked which are possible to insert this tag. Inserting the tag in different location causes the dispatcher to behave differently as following : Case 1 : If I insert it at location 1, the dispatcher will no longer be able to handle mapping by the @RequestMapping and controller class name but it will be serving the static content normally. Cas 2, 3 : It will be able to handle mapping by the @RequestMapping and controller class name as well as serving the static content if other mapping cannot be done successfully. Case 4 : It will not be able to serve the static contents. There's an ugly answer using local-name <Binding XPath="*[local-name()='Name']" /> but that is not acceptable to the client who wants this XAML to be highly maintainable. The fallback is to force them to use non-default namespaces in the report XML but that is an undesirable solution. The XML report file looks like the following. • Validating against a Schema with JAXB

  I've been looking for solutions to this problem for far too long considering how easy it sounds so I've come for some help. I have an XML Schema which I have used with xjc to create my JAXB binding. This works fine when the XML is well formed. Unfortunately it also doesn't complain when the XML is not well formed. I cannot figure out how to do proper full validation against the schema when I try to unmarshall an XML file. I have managed to use a ValidationEventCollector to handle events, which works for XML parsing errors such as mismatched tags but doesn't raise any events when there is a tag that is required but is completely absent. From what I have seen validation can be done againsta schema, but you must know the path to the schema in order to pass it into the setSchema() method. The problem I have is that the path to the schema is stored in the XML header and I can't knwo at run time where the schema is going to be. Which is why it's stored in the XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <DDSSettings xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="/a/big/long/path/to/a/schema/file/DDSSettings.xsd"> <Field1>1</Field1> <Field2>-1</Field2> ...etc Every example I see uses setValidating(true), which is now deprecated, so throws an exception. Background: I'd like to use xsl:analyze-string in a xsl:function that should encapsulate the pattern matching. Ideally, the function should return an xs:string to be used as sort criteria in an xsl:sort element. When I deploy my application to my JBoss 5.0 server, the log file records the following error: SEVERE: Conflicting URI templates. The URI template / for root resource class org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.web.resources.NamenodeWebHdfsMethods and the URI template / transform to the same regular expression (/.*)? To make sure my code is not the problem, I have created a fresh web application that contains nothing but the Jersey and Hadoop JAR files along with a small stub. The deployment is successful and the remaining RESTful services work. I have also tried the Hadoop 1.0.1 JAR files and have had the same problems with the conflicting URL template in the NamenodeWebHdfsMethods class. Any suggestions or tips in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Documentation of cos-all-limited.1.2 says: 1.2 the {term} property of a particle with {max occurs}=1 which is part of a pair which constitutes the {content type} of a complex type definition. I don't really understand this (neither xsd nor English native speaker :) ). Am I doing the wrong thing, am I doing the right thing wrong, or is there no way to achieve this? Thanks!

This is public info, so no problem sharing data: the main XSD is at http://bioinformatics.ua.pt/euadr/euadr_types.xsd and it imports another XSD at the same location name common_types.xsd, I've validated them in W3C validator, and they passed.
