  • Sharing runtime variables between files

    - by nightcracker
    I have a project with a few files that all include the header global.hpp. Those files want to share and update information that is relevant for the whole program during runtime (that data is gathered progressively during the program runs but the fields of data are known at compile-time). Now my idea was to use a struct like this: global.hpp #include <string> #ifndef _GLOBAL_SESSION_STRUCT #define _GLOBAL_SESSION_STRUCT struct session_struct { std::string username; std::string password; std::string hostname; unsigned short port; // more data fields as needed }; #endif extern struct session_struct session; main.cpp #include "global.hpp" struct session_struct session; int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { session.username = "user"; session.password = "secret"; session.hostname = "example.com"; session.port = 80; // other stuff, etc return 0; } Now every file that includes global.hpp can just read & write the fields of the session struct and easily share information. Is this the correct way to do this? NOTE: For this specific project no threading is used. But please (for future projects and other people reading) clarify in your answer how this (or your proposed) solution works when threaded. Also, for this example/project session variables are shared. But this should also apply to any other form of shared variables.

  • How to paginate Django with other get variables?

    - by vagabond
    I am having problems using pagination in Django. Take the URL below as an example: http://127.0.0.1:8000/users/?sort=first_name On this page I sort a list of users by their first_name. Without a sort GET variable it defaults to sort by id. Now if I click the next link I expect the following URL: http://127.0.0.1:8000/users/?sort=first_name&page=2 Instead I lose all get variables and end up with http://127.0.0.1:8000/users/?page=2 This is a problem because the second page is sorted by id instead of first_name. If I use request.get_full_path I will eventually end up with an ugly URL: http://127.0.0.1:8000/users/?sort=first_name&page=2&page=3&page=4 What is the solution? Is there a way to access the GET variables on the template and replace the value for the page? I am using pagination as described in Django's documentation and my preference is to keep using it. The template code I am using is similar to this: {% if contacts.has_next %} <a href="?page={{ contacts.next_page_number }}">next</a> {% endif %}

  • Django 1.1 template question

    - by Bovril
    Hi All, I'm a little stuck trying to get my head around a django template. I have 2 objects, a cluster and a node I would like a simple page that lists... [Cluster 1] [associated node 1] [associated node 2] [associated node 3] [Cluster 2] [associated node 4] [associated node 5] [associated node 6] I've been using Django for about 2 days so if i've missed the point, please be gentle :) Models - class Node(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=30) description = models.TextField() cluster = models.ForeignKey(Cluster) def __unicode__(self): return self.name class Cluster(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=30) description = models.TextField() def __unicode__(self): return self.name Views - def DSAList(request): clusterlist = Cluster.objects.all() nodelist = Node.objects.all() t = loader.get_template('dsalist.html') v = Context({ 'CLUSTERLIST' : clusterlist, 'NODELIST' : nodelist, }) return HttpResponse(t.render(v)) Template - <body> <TABLE> {% for cluster in CLUSTERLIST %} <tr> <TD>{{ cluster.name }}</TD> {% for node in NODELIST %} {% if node.cluster.id == cluster.id %} <tr> <TD>{{ node.name }}</TD> </tr> {% endif %} {% endfor %} </tr> {% endfor %} </TABLE> </body> Any ideas ?

  • C++ Header file questions

    - by Karl
    So I'm trying to learn C++ and I've gotten as far as using header files. They really make no sense to me. I've tried many combinations of this but nothing so far has worked: Main.cpp: #include "test.h" int main() { testClass Player1; return 0; } test.h: #ifndef TEST_H_INCLUDED #define TEST_H_INCLUDED class testClass { private: int health; public: testClass(); ~testClass(); int getHealth(); void setHealth(int inH); }; #endif // TEST_H_INCLUDED test.cpp: #include "test.h" testClass::testClass() { health = 100; } testClass::~testClass() {} int testClass::getHealth() { return(health); } void testClass::setHealth(int inH) { health = inH; } What I'm trying to do is pretty simple, but the way the header files work just makes no sense to me at all. Code blocks returns the following on build: obj\Debug\main.o(.text+0x131)||In function main':| *voip*\test\main.cpp |6|undefined reference totestClass::testClass()'| obj\Debug\main.o(.text+0x13c):voip\test\main.cpp|7|undefined reference to `testClass::~testClass()'| ||=== Build finished: 2 errors, 0 warnings ===| I'd appreciate any help. Or if you have a decent tutorial for it, that would be fine too (most of the tutorials I've googled haven't helped)

  • Wordpress post showing in my Home page

    - by kwek-kwek
    I am setting up an eventlist for wordpress here is my code: <?php $todaysDate = date ('M d'); $event_query = query_posts('showposts=5&category_name=events&meta_key=Date&meta_compare=>=&meta_value='.$todaysDate.'&orderby=meta_value=order=ASC'); ?> <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); $eventMeta = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'Date', true); $eventDate = strtotime($eventMeta); $displayDate = date ('M d', $eventDate); ?> <li> <span class="date"><?php echo $displayDate ; ?></span> <span><a href="<?php the_permalink();?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></span></li> <?php endwhile; else:?> <li>No Upcoming events</li> <?php endif;?> Now the problem is that the post shows under my home content and when you click on the post under "nouvelles" it goes to a different entry. view the site

  • multiple definition in header file

    - by Jérôme
    Here is a small code-example from which I'd like to ask a question : complex.h : #ifndef COMPLEX_H #define COMPLEX_H #include <iostream> class Complex { public: Complex(float Real, float Imaginary); float real() const { return m_Real; }; private: friend std::ostream& operator<<(std::ostream& o, const Complex& Cplx); float m_Real; float m_Imaginary; }; std::ostream& operator<<(std::ostream& o, const Complex& Cplx) { return o << Cplx.m_Real << " i" << Cplx.m_Imaginary; } #endif // COMPLEX_H complex.cpp : #include "complex.h" Complex::Complex(float Real, float Imaginary) { m_Real = Real; m_Imaginary = Imaginary; } main.cpp : #include "complex.h" #include <iostream> int main() { Complex Foo(3.4, 4.5); std::cout << Foo << "\n"; return 0; } When compiling this code, I get the following error : multiple definition of operator<<(std::ostream&, Complex const&) I've found that making this fonction inline solves the problem, but I don't understand why. Why does the compiler complain about multiple definition ? My header file is guarded (with #define COMPLEX_H). And, if complaining about the operator<< fonction, why not complain about the public real() fonction, which is defined in the header as well ? And is there another solution as using the inline keyword ?

  • Options for displaying OG groups a node is published for on node page?

    - by Erik Töyrä
    What I want I have several OG groups in which content can be published. I would like to display which OG groups a node has been published for when viewing the node page. Like in "This page is published for: Department A, Department B." The code snipped below shows the data I have in the $node object in node.tpl.php. This data is generated by the OG module. Extracted data from $node ... [og_groups] => Array ( [993] => 993 [2078] => 2078 ) [og_groups_both] => Array ( [993] => Department A [2078] => Department B ) ... I know I could loop through the og_groups_both array in node.tpl.php and generate the output from there, but it feels like a quite dirty solution. The ideal solution would be to have a $og_groups variable in node.tpl.php, similiar to how $submitted is used in node.tpl.php (see below). Example of how $submitted is used <?php if ($submitted): ?> <div class="submitted"><?php print $submitted; ?></div> <?php endif; ?> Should I use hook_load() in a custom module to insert the new variable $og_groups in $node? What options do I have and which solution would you recommend?

  • Using libgrib2c in c++ application, linker error "Undefined reference to..."

    - by Rich
    EDIT: If you're going to be doing things with GRIB files I would recommend the GDAL library which is backed by the Open Source Geospatial Foundation. You will save yourself a lot of headache :) I'm using Qt creator in Ubuntu creating a c++ app. I am attempting to use an external lib, libgrib2c.a, that has a header grib2.h. Everything compiles, but when it tries to link I get the error: undefined reference to 'seekgb(_IO_FILE*, long, long, long*, long*) I have tried wrapping the header file with: extern "C"{ #include "grib2.h" } But it didn't fix anything so I figured that was not my problem. In the .pro file I have the line: include($${ROOT}/Shared/common/commonLibs.pri) and in commonLibs.pri I have: INCLUDEPATH+=$${ROOT}/external_libs/g2clib/include LIBS+=-L$${ROOT}/external_libs/g2clib/lib LIBS+=-lgrib2c I am not encountering an error finding the library. If I do a nm command on the libgrib2c.a I get: nm libgrib2c.a | grep seekgb seekgb.o: 00000000 T seekgb And when I run qmake with the additional argument of LIBS+=-Wl,--verbose I can find the lib file in the output: attempt to open /usr/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open /usr/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open /mnt/sdb1/ESMF/App/ESMF_App/../external_libs/linux/qwt_6.0.2/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open /mnt/sdb1/ESMF/App/ESMF_App/../external_libs/linux/qwt_6.0.2/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//Shared/Config/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//Shared/Config/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/libssh2/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/libssh2/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/openssl/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/openssl/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/g2clib/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/g2clib/lib/libgrib2c.a succeeded Although it doesn't show any of the .o files in the library is this because it is a c library in my c++ app? in the .cpp file that I am trying to use the library I have: #include "gribreader.h" #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <external_libs/g2clib/include/grib2.h> #include <Shared/logging/Logger.hpp> //------------------------------------------------------------------------------ /// Opens a GRIB file from disk. /// /// This function opens the grib file and searches through it for how many GRIB /// messages are contained as well as their starting locations. /// /// \param a_filePath. Usually I'm able to find an answer in the vast stores of knowledge already contained on the web.

  • li + float crashes IE6

    - by DMin
    I know. The dreaded ugly browser we don't want to support, but, it seems it couldn't be simpler to crash this thing. The URL The images gallery is a Joomla Plugin(Sigplus) and works fine with all other standard browsers. In IE it was not showing correctly, all the images were showing in one line vertically one below the other. But the browser would not hang or crash and the gallery worked as well. This is a Joomla plugin and I didn't want to mess with how it works, so, for IE I added a simple rule in the header : <!--[if lt IE 7]> <style> li { float:left; margin-right:5px; } </style> <![endif]--> This fixed the issue and the gallery shows up as it should. But, as you scroll down, as you reach the last row of images IE hangs and crashes. I tried deleting the last 5 images thinking it was something to do with the images themselves. But now it hangs on the current last row and crashes. Know what it could be?

  • [solved] IE6 PNG-transparency CSS hack not working

    - by John
    I looked around and decided to use a CSS approach rather than rely on JS... I figure the kind of corporate users stuck with IE6 might also have JS disabled by IT departments. So In my HTML I have: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" /> <title>My Page</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="default.css" /> <!--[if IE 6]><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="ie6.css"><![endif]--> </head> <body> <img src="media/logo.png"/> </body> Then my ie6.css consists simply of: img { filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(...); } However none of this makes the slightest difference, no transparency. I commented out all the rest of the page so it is literally that one and still no luck. I removed the default.css stylesheet and still no difference. EDIT: I now got it working, using the .htc method, loading that file in a conditional IE6 test block. It turned out the problem I was having was that Windows 7 had 'locked' the file (I don't even know what this means) and this blocked IE from loading/using it.

  • GNU C++ how to check when -std=c++0x is in effect?

    - by TerryP
    My system compiler (gcc42) works fine with the TR1 features that I want, but trying to support newer compiler versions other than the systems, trying to accessing TR1 headers an #error demanding the -std=c++0x option because of how it interfaces with library or some hub bub like that. /usr/local/lib/gcc45/include/c++/bits/c++0x_warning.h:31:2: error: #error This file requires compiler and library support for the upcoming ISO C++ standard, C++0x. This support is currently experimental, and must be enabled with the -std=c++0x or -std=gnu++0x compiler options. Having to supply an extra switch is no problem, to support GCC 4.4 and 4.5 under this system (FreeBSD), but obviously it changes the picture! Using my system compiler (g++ 4.2 default dialect): #include <tr1/foo> using std::tr1::foo; Using newer (4.5) versions of the compiler with -std=c++0x: #include <foo> using std::foo; Is there anyway using the pre processor, that I can tell if g++ is running with C++0x features enabled? Something like this is what I'm looking for: #ifdef __CXX0X_MODE__ #endif but I have not found anything in the manual or off the web. At this rate, I'm starting to think that life would just be easier, to use Boost as a dependency, and not worry about a new language standard arriving before TR4... hehe.

  • Font Awesome Not Working In Chrome

    So I'm trying to prototype a marketing page and I'm using bootstrap and the new font awesome file. The problem is when I try to use an icon all that gets rendered on the page in a big square. Here's how I include the files in the head: <head> <title> </title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/bootstrap.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/bootstrap-responsive.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/font-awesome.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/app.css"> <!--[if IE 7]> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/font-awesome-ie7.min.css"> <![endif]--> </head> And here's an example of me trying to use an icon: <i class="icon-camera-retro"></i> But all that gets rendered in a big square. Does anyone know what could be going on?

  • PHP in_array() can't even match a single character. Strict is set to true.

    - by solefald
    I've seen a million of these threads here already, and read through every single one already. Including some serious time Googling. Nothing complicated. All I have to do is check if a single character in a loop matches my alphabet array. print_r($alphabet); // all 26 letters Array ( [0] => a [1] => b [2] => c ... [23] => x [24] => y [25] => z ) print_r($emptyLetters); // dynamic array. Array ( [0] => b [1] => s ) foreach($alphabet as $letter): { echo $letter . '<br />' // Correctly prints out every letter from $alphabet. if(in_array($letter, $emptyLetters, true)): // $strict is set // do something endif; } What the hell is going on??? I do not understand what i am doing wrong.... I tried every combination and option possible, but for some reason even array_search() is bit working...

  • Determine whether app is communicating with APNS sandbox or production environment

    - by goldierox
    I have push notifications set up in my app. I'm trying to determine whether the device token I've received from APNS in the application:didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken: method came from the sandbox or development environment. If I can distinguish which environment initialized the token, I'll be able to tell my server to which environment to send the push notification. I've tried using the DEBUG macro to determine this, but I've seen some strange behavior with this and don't trust it to be 100% correct. #ifdef DEBUG BOOL isProd = YES; #else BOOL isProd = NO; #endif Ideally, I'd be able to examine the aps-environment entitlement (value is Development or Production) in code, but I'm not sure if this is even possible. What's the proper way to determine whether your app is communicating with the APNS sandbox or production environments? I'm assuming that the server needs to know this in the first place. Please correct me if this is assumption is incorrect. Edited: Apple's documentation on Provider Communication with APNS details the difference between communicating with the sandbox and production. However, the documentation doesn't give information on how to be consistent with registering the token (from the iOS client app) and communicating with the server.

  • recvfrom returns invalid argument when *from* is passed

    - by Aditya Sehgal
    I am currently writing a small UDP server program in linux. The UDP server will receive packets from two different peers and will perform different operations based on from which peer it received the packet. I am trying to determine the source from where I receive the packet. However, when select returns and recvfrom is called, it returns with an error of Invalid Argument. If I pass NULL as the second last arguments, recvfrom succeeds. I have tried declaring fromAddr as struct sockaddr_storage, struct sockaddr_in, struct sockaddr without any success. Is their something wrong with this code? Is this the correct way to determine the source of the packet? The code snippet follows. ` /*TODO : update for TCP. use recv */ if((pkInfo->rcvLen=recvfrom(psInfo->sockFd, pkInfo->buffer, MAX_PKTSZ, 0, /* (struct sockaddr*)&fromAddr,*/ NULL, &(addrLen) )) < 0) { perror("RecvFrom failed\n"); } else { /*Apply Filter */ #if 0 struct sockaddr_in* tmpAddr; tmpAddr = (struct sockaddr_in* )&fromAddr; printf("Received Msg From %s\n",inet_ntoa(tmpAddr->sin_addr)); #endif printf("Packet Received of len = %d\n",pkInfo->rcvLen); } `

I'm about to switch to JsonGlib though, which is the reason I pulled the project up again. So it's all good. :)

  • Not all symbols of an DLL-exported class is exported (VS9)

    - by mandrake
    I'm building a DLL from a group of static libraries and I'm having a problem where only parts of classes are exported. What I'm doing is declaring all symbols I want to export with a preprocessor definition like: #if defined(MYPROJ_BUILD_DLL) //Build as a DLL # define MY_API __declspec(dllexport) #elif defined(MYPROJ_USE_DLL) //Use as a DLL # define MY_API __declspec(dllimport) #else //Build or use as a static lib # define MY_API #endif For example: class MY_API Foo{ ... } I then build static library with MYPROJ_BUILD_DLL & MYPROJ_USE_DLL undefined causing a static library to be built. In another build I create a DLL from these static libraries. So I define MYPROJ_BUILD_DLL causing all symbols I want to export to be attributed with __declspec(dllexport) (this is done by including all static library headers in the DLL-project source file). Ok, so now to the problem. When I use this new DLL I get unresolved externals because not all symbols of a class is exported. For example in a class like this: class MY_API Foo{ public: Foo(char const* ); int bar(); private: Foo( char const*, char const* ); }; Only Foo::Foo( char const*, char const*); and int Foo::bar(); is exported. How can that be? I can understand if the entire class was missing, due to e.g. I forgot to include the header in the DLL-build. But it's only partial missing. Also, say if Foo::Foo( char const*) was not implemented; then the DLL build would have unresolved external errors. But the build is fine (I also double checked for declarations without implementation). Note: The combined size of the static libraries I'm combining is in the region of 30MB, and the resulting DLL is 1.2MB. I'm using Visual Studio 9.0 (2008) to build everything. And Depends to check for exported symbols.

  • Unresolved external symbol error in c++

    - by Crystal
    I am trying to do a simple hw problem involving namespace, static data members and functions. I am getting an unresolved external symbol error Error 1 error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "private: static double JWong::SavingsAccount::annualInterestRate" (?annualInterestRate@SavingsAccount@JWong@@0NA) SavingsAccount.obj SavingsAccount And I don't see why I am getting this error. Maybe I don't know something about static variables compared to regular data members that is causing this error. Here is my code: SavingsAccount.h file #ifndef JWONG_SAVINGSACCOUNT_H #define JWONG_SAVINGSACCOUNT_H namespace JWong { class SavingsAccount { public: // default constructor SavingsAccount(); // constructor SavingsAccount(double savingsBalance); double getSavingsBalance(); void setSavingsBalance(double savingsBalance); double calculateMonthlyInterest(); // static functions static void modifyInterestRate(double newInterestRate); static double getAnnualInterestRest(); private: double savingsBalance; // static members static double annualInterestRate; }; } #endif SavingsAccount.cpp file #include <iostream> #include "SavingsAccount.h" // default constructor, set savingsBalance to 0 JWong::SavingsAccount::SavingsAccount() : savingsBalance(0) {} // constructor JWong::SavingsAccount::SavingsAccount(double savingsBalance) : savingsBalance(savingsBalance) {} double JWong::SavingsAccount::getSavingsBalance() { return savingsBalance; } void JWong::SavingsAccount::setSavingsBalance(double savingsBalance) { this->savingsBalance = savingsBalance; } // returns monthly interest and sets savingsBalance to new amount double JWong::SavingsAccount::calculateMonthlyInterest() { double monthlyInterest = savingsBalance * SavingsAccount::annualInterestRate / 12; setSavingsBalance(savingsBalance + monthlyInterest); return monthlyInterest; } void JWong::SavingsAccount::modifyInterestRate(double newInterestRate) { SavingsAccount::annualInterestRate = newInterestRate; } double JWong::SavingsAccount::getAnnualInterestRest() { return SavingsAccount::annualInterestRate; }

    I have the following code below. I am trying to get rid of the box articles div when I am on the home page the code works when the html is outside of the else portion of the IF statement, as soon as I put it inside the page goes blank, I can't seem to figure out where I have broken the code. Any help would be great. <?php if(is_front_page()) { if(function_exists('wp_content_slider')) { wp_content_slider(); } } else{ ?> <div class="box articles"> <div class="block" id="articles"> <h2><?php the_title(); ?></h2> <div class="article"> <div class="entry"> <?php the_content(); ?> </div> <?php edit_post_link('Modifca Contenuto.', '<p>', '</p>'); ?> </div> </div> </div> <?php endwhile; endif; ?> <? } ?>

  • Splitting a C++ class into files now won't compile.

    - by vgm64
    Hi. I am teaching myself to write classes in C++ but can't seem to get the compilation to go through. If you can help me figure out not just how, but why, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! Here are my three files: make_pmt.C #include <iostream> #include "pmt.h" using namespace std; int main() { CPMT *pmt = new CPMT; pmt->SetVoltage(900); pmt->SetGain(2e6); double voltage = pmt->GetVoltage(); double gain= pmt->GetGain(); cout << "The voltage is " << voltage << " and the gain is " << gain << "." <<endl; return 0; } pmt.C #include "pmt.h" using namespace std; class CPMT { double gain, voltage; public: double GetGain() {return gain;} double GetVoltage() {return voltage;} void SetGain(double g) {gain=g;} void SetVoltage(double v) {voltage=v;} }; pmt.h #ifndef PMT_H #define PMT_H 1 using namespace std; class CPMT { double gain, voltage; public: double GetGain(); double GetVoltage(); void SetGain(double g); void SetVoltage(double v); }; #endif And for reference, I get a linker error (right?): Undefined symbols: "CPMT::GetVoltage()", referenced from: _main in ccoYuMbH.o "CPMT::GetGain()", referenced from: _main in ccoYuMbH.o "CPMT::SetVoltage(double)", referenced from: _main in ccoYuMbH.o "CPMT::SetGain(double)", referenced from: _main in ccoYuMbH.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

  • Enumeration trouble: redeclared as different kind of symbol

    - by Matt
    Hello all. I am writing a program that is supposed to help me learn about enumeration data types in C++. The current trouble is that the compiler doesn't like my enum usage when trying to use the new data type as I would other data types. I am getting the error "redeclared as different kind of symbol" when compiling my trangleShape function. Take a look at the relevant code. Any insight is appreciated! Thanks! (All functions are their own .cpp files.) header file #ifndef HEADER_H_INCLUDED #define HEADER_H_INCLUDED #include <iostream> #include <iomanip> using namespace std; enum triangleType {noTriangle, scalene, isoceles, equilateral}; //prototypes void extern input(float&, float&, float&); triangleType extern triangleShape(float, float, float); /*void extern output (float, float, float);*/ void extern myLabel(const char *, const char *); #endif // HEADER_H_INCLUDED main function //8.1 main // this progam... #include "header.h" int main() { float sideLength1, sideLength2, sideLength3; char response; do //main loop { input (sideLength1, sideLength2, sideLength3); triangleShape (sideLength1, sideLength2, sideLength3); //output (sideLength1, sideLength2, sideLength3); cout << "\nAny more triangles to analyze? (y,n) "; cin >> response; } while (response == 'Y' || response == 'y'); myLabel ("8.1", "2/11/2011"); return 0; } triangleShape shape # include "header.h" triangleType triangleShape(sideLenght1, sideLength2, sideLength3) { triangleType triangle; return triangle; }

  • C++ Initialize array in constructor EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    - by user890395
    I'm creating a simple constructor and initializing an array: // Construtor Cinema::Cinema(){ // Initalize reservations for(int i = 0; i < 18; i++){ for(int j = 0; j < 12; j++){ setReservation(i, j, 0); } } // Set default name setMovieName("N/A"); // Set default price setPrice(8); } The setReservation function: void Cinema::setReservation(int row, int column, int reservation){ this->reservations[row][column] = reservation; } The setMovieName function: void Cinema::setMovieName(std::string movieName){ this->movieName = movieName; } For some odd reason when I run the program, the setMovieName function gives the following error: "Program Received Signal: EXC_BAD_ACCESS" If I take out the for-loop that initializes the array of reservations, the problem goes away and the movie name is set without any problems. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? This is the Cinema.h file: #ifndef Cinema_h #define Cinema_h class Cinema{ private: int reservations[17][11]; std::string movieName; float price; public: // Construtor Cinema(); // getters/setters int getReservation(int row, int column); int getNumReservations(); std::string getMovieName(); float getPrice(); void setReservation(int row, int column, int reservation); void setMovieName(std::string movieName); void setPrice(float price); }; #endif

  • Segmentation Fault when trying to push a string to the back of a list.

    - by user308012
    I am trying to write a logger class for my C++ calculator, but I'm experiencing a problem while trying to push a string into a list. I have tried researching this issue and have found some information on this, but nothing that seems to help with my problem. I am using a rather basic C++ compiler, with little debugging utilities and I've not used C++ in quite some time (even then it was only a small amount). My code: #ifndef _LOGGER_H_ #define _LOGGER_H_ #include <iostream> #include <list> #include <string> using std::cout; using std::cin; using std::endl; using std::list; using std::string; class Logger { private: list<string> *mEntries; public: Logger() { // Initialize the entries list mEntries = new list<string>(); } ~Logger() { // Release the list mEntries->clear(); delete mEntries; } // Public Methods void WriteEntry(string entry) { // *** BELOW LINE IS MARKED WITH THE ERROR *** mEntries->push_back(string(entryData)); } void DisplayEntries() { cout << endl << "**********************" << endl << "* Logger Entries *" << endl << "**********************" << endl << endl; for(list<string>::iterator it = mEntries->begin(); it != mEntries->end(); it++) { cout << *it << endl; } } }; #endif I am calling the WriteEntry method by simply passing in a string, like so: mLogger->WriteEntry("Testing"); Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
